Life is something especially for me , today I was going to see my doctor ,doctor cho , he's been my doctor since I was two he kinda became like my second dad. I walk into the doctors office with a huge smile on my face I loved my weekly check Up's "welcome back Taeyeon , doctor cho is finishing up one of his patients, just take a seat " the secretary said and I obeyed .I sit in my chair playing with my phone as I waited to be seen , you know those moments were you swear someone is staring at you ? Well I was having that moment right now and I was starting to feel uncomfortable and uneasy ,I look up to see a girl staring right at me ,she didn't even look away neither did I ,so now we were in this heated staring contest when I hear my name being called "Kim Taeyeon" I pull my eyes away from looking at the girl before standing up to walk in the back with doctor cho "alright let's check your height and weight " I stand on the scale and get my weight checked "ok now stand up straight and put the heel of your foot back on the wall. I did what was told before stepping away from the wall.I loved coming to the doctors , the smell of the doctors office excited me ,doctor cho write something on his clip board before he examined me checking my pulse , my throat you know the regular check up stuff.But when he got to my knee and lightly hit it I screamed in pain "ow!" I said holding my knee , he just looks at me for a while before doing it to the other leg "ow!" I scream again was he hurting me on purpose?."Taeyeon I barely hit your knee"he writes something down and frowns something wasn't right I could feel it "Taeyeon where's your mom?" That's weird he never asked for my mom before this had to be serious."Out in the car waiting for me why?""I need you to call her ,I'll have the secretary know to send her back"OK what was going on? Doctor cho did some test before I called my mom and waited for her to show up,Once she did her and doctor cho stepped out the room . Today seemed weird especially when that girl just kept staring at me in the waiting room ,she didn't even look away and pretend she wasn't staring at me. Doctor cho and my mom walks back inside the room ,my Mom looked ....sad? "Uh Taeyeon how long have your knees been hurting ?" A while now but I didn't think it was that serious ."A while now, is it serious?""Very" what was very? A knock came at the door before opening ,it was nurse Jackie she hands doctor cho a few papers before making her way out ,they must be my test results that's another thing I loved about doctor cho's office they ran test on you and gave you the results fast . Doctor cho looked through the papers and sighed "as I expected ,Taeyeon you have a year to live "what? Maybe I didn't hear him right ,I must of heard wrong ."I'm what ?""The pain in your knee's is from a disease called topathea ,it's been spreading across the east coast lately we don't know how or why it appeared or what cause it " he had to be joking right ? Me dead in a year impossible I was only 19.I look to my left to see my mom crying and shaking ,oh my god this was real,I was going to die in a year "what about my knees why do they hurt so bad ?" That came out a lot calmer then I was ,but what could I do ,freak out? Why ? That wasn't going to make me die slower."Will we honestly don't know, the few patients that had topathea all had the same problem with there knees , at first we didn't think nothing of it ,we gave them some pain medicine and sent them on there way until .... Until they all seemed to die a year later ,not a tragic death but a death non the less" the fact that I didn't show my emotions or was crying right now scared me more then dying ,how could I be so calm about this when on the inside I wanted to scream my lungs out .After that I walked out of the back room and back to the waiting room , my mom couldn't stop crying "Tiffany Hwang" the girl from earlier still was sitting were she was when I left , she stares at me and gives me a little smile before walking in the back.Tiffany hwang ,that was a American name and I was starting to like it . -⏳⌛- Ah Monday's,I disliked them ,I woke up did my morning routine ,got dressed and walked downstairs to eat breakfast ,my mom didn't want me to go to school today but I knew I couldn't just stay home moping around plus it was my senior year I wanted to spend my last year of high school with my friends ,my last days with my friends .I kiss my mom and dad on the cheek got my bookbag and zoomed out the door "taengoo!" I turn to my right and smile seeing my best friends waving at me ,I walk towards them and high five the both of them "how it go with doctor cho Thursday?" That's right I didn't tell them I was going to be dead in a year , after doctor cho told me I was soon to be dead my mom made me stay home on Friday and the whole weekend was spent with my family talking and them crying ."Oh you know the usual I'm healthy as a horse " I couldn't tell them I was dying, They would start treating me different like my family ,worrying and asking me annoying questions,I want to feel normal.
