Chapter 7 (1/1)

Everyone was either sitting, lying down, or pacing around in the common room. L.E, Daze, and Miri had their heads bent over several textbooks surrounding them on the floor. Ty was lying on the couch, sleeping with a book over his face. Rae walked into the room with an anatomy textbook in one hand and a glass of water in the other. A #2 pencil was tucked behind her ear and her had drooped to a sloppy ponytail. "Hey, I have a package coming in today. Can someone go out to the gate and get it?", Miri asked sweetly. Everyone knew that her studying session could not be disrupted because she was easily distracted. Rae volunteered as she was just  finishing her Anatomy study guide. She went outside and approached the gate, easily spotting the large cardboard box. Loud shouting from down the street entered her ears and she wondered what could be going on. She opened the gates and curiously followed the now distinct talking."Who do you think you are? A little EXO member, huh? That's nothing around here! You're nothing around here!", a man said. There was evident sounds of kicking and punching. Rae peeked around the corner and saw a boy lying on the ground. Three men were crowded around him, pounding on his bloody, injured body. "Hey, get out of here!", Rae shouted. They recognized her and ran off immediately. She rushed over to the familiar looking boy and bent down. He was the person who helped her when Kris had tried to take advantage of her. He opened his eyes slightly and saw Rae. "Can you get up?", Rae asked filled with concern. "Here, let me help you.", she said, lifing up his arm to put around her shoulder. She took hold of his waist and hauled him up. It took a while to reach the front door and Rae kicked the door open with a bang, gaining a protest from Miri in the other room."Hey! Don't kick the door! Did you get it?", Miri asked from the other room. When Rae walked into the common room with the bloody and limping Luhan. They looked up, not expecting to see him."Oh my gosh, whath happened? Is he okay?", Miri exclaimed. She rushed around the mansion, gathering towels, ice, bandages, and a first aid kit. The boys helped him into L.E's room, which was the closest bedroom with a bed in it. They leaid him gently down and took off his bloody clothes. The girls left the boys to do the changing and when they were done, Rae went in to treat his injuries. He was sleeping now and had his mouth slightly open. She applied anti biotics on the scratches and placed bandages over them. He would just have to wait for the bruises to fade. When she finished, she started to get up when a  hand reached out suddenly. She looked down and saw Luhan with a weak smile."Thank you.", he said. She nodded and told him to rest some more. "Wait, what's your name?", he asked."Rae..I'm Rae.", she answered. He repeated her name and then slipped back into sleep. She crept out quietly, turning off the lights. The walked down the stairs to find everyone discussing something intently."He's part of EXO. He needs to go before the rest come over.", Jin warned."Oh for god's sake, Jin. He's injured. They'd be coming over here to thank us.", Miri replied, not worried at all. "Still, it's EXO. You don't know what to expect with them.", L.E said. "How's he holding up, Rae?""He's asleep now. You don't mind that he's in your bed right?", Rae asked. "Not a problem. I sleep at home anyway.", he replied with a smile. It was night time already and one by one they left. It was just Rae and L.E now, going over the last few details of their term paper. "As usual, you're more than convincing this time.", Rae commented. L.E was studying to be lawyer and was excellent in persuasve essays. "And yours is perfect, like always. Well, I think it's a wrap here. You going home?", L.E asked. She thought about the sleeping Luhan upstairs and decided it was best for her to stay."I think I'll hang around here a little longer. You go on ahead.", she replied. "Cya later, Rae. Don't stress out too much. You're going to get into the best medical school out there.", L.E said encouragingly. She smiled in return and waved him off. He grabbed his jacket and schoolbag and headed on out. Rae tidied up her books and piled them into her brown, leather messenger bag. She climbed up the stairs to check on Luhan. He was now curled up slightly in fetal position. She went closer to the bed and leaned down. She noticed a blood smear on the right side of his face. How had she not noticed that before? Shee went to the bathroom to wet a hand towel and returned to find him in the same position. Carefully, she wiped his face, when she was pulling away, his hand caught hers. His eyes opened and turned to face her. "Thank you, Rae. Even though I'm an EXO member...", he said."Don't worry about it. Do you feel any better?", Rae asked."Yeah, much better. Thanks.", he sat up and looked around."Is this your room?", he asked, admiring the huge bedroom."No. It's L.E'sm my friend's.", she answered. "We don't live here though.""Um...then why did you guys buy a mansion that you're not living in?", he asked, confused. This was the difference between the two. The average people didn't understand the way people like Rae and the rest of the hunters worked. It was hard to explain and Rae wasn't sure if she could completely trust him. His innocent and angelic looks were too good to be true. Rae found it distracting and felt herself blushing whenever they made eye contact. "It's just...a gathering place. A second home.", she said, noting giving away too much."Huh...I see. I've never been in a place like this before. I guess it must be normal for you guys.", he said."Yeah, it's kind of like that. You should spend the night here. I don't think you're well enough to move around.", she said, staring down at his injured body. "If I do, will you stay with me tonight then?", he asked shyly. Rae considered for a few seconds and agreed. "Alright, I'll stay. But Im sleeping in my room.", she informed him. "Can't I come with you?", he asked. "I don't want to be alone", he added."And sleep on the same bed as me? I think not. You're part of EXO, so I don't 'completely trust you.", she said bluntly. Luhan had a sad look on his face when she said that. He pleaded with her one more time, arguing that he was different. After much consideration, Rae agreed to it. She somehow was opening up to him even though he was complete stranger. She helped him up and climbed another flight of stairs.They walked into her bedroom. Rae laid Luhan down and walked into her bathroom to take a shower. She was exhausted from school and everything going on, she just needed a hot shower. She finished showering and changing into her pajamas and walked out of the bathroom. Luhan lied on her bed, leaving a space next to him for her. She climbed under her covers and went to sleep without another word."Good night, Rae.", Luhan whispered.
