[M] Chapter 1 (1/2)

"Do I really have to do this?" she asked Jonghyun before getting out of the car and slamming the door. "I should have known you would have dragged me to see him."

Jonghyun shook his head, "You don't have to do anything but come on it's been four years since you left Korea, the least you could do was see him once before going back."

"I left for a reason Jonghyun, the guilt was eating me up, I...don't think he would want me anywhere near him, even now." She slowed down her steps not wanting to reach him.

"Come on." Jonghyun half dragged me to were he was. "Do you really think Kibum gives a shit anymore, yes what you did was wrong but it wasn't your fault only. I'll leave you two alone know."

Standing there before him, she didn't know what to do, where to start. "Hey Key, it's been a while right?"

Flashback

"Come to bed Key, please." she begged her boyfriend who was getting dressed, ready to go out to a new club that he had been invited to. He didn't have to go out, he had been busy all day with rehearsals for SHINee and his play, why would he want to go out instead of resting at home. "Please I'm worried about you, when was the last time you properly rested?"

"Stop worrying so much, you're worse than my mother." He let out a frustrated sigh, " I told you to come with me, but no you would rather stay here. Now stop bugging me and tell me I look good."

Letting out an annoyed sigh she got off the bed and straightened his jacket slightly, " You look perfect like always Bummie." She kissed his cheek softly, smiling at him as he smirked at her.

"Of course I do." He gathered his keys and wallet before heading out the door, "now give me a goodbye kiss."

"I already did, remember?" He pulled her closer before she could protest and placed his lips roughly on her. Pushing him away gently she laughed, "Go Key, it's already late and the later you leave the later you come home. Please be careful, and don't drink too much"

"Whatever mom," he smiled, " Don't worry I will be fine. Bye!"

She watched him leave, she looked at the clock and it was 10 pm, she decided to watch some tv since she didn't feel tired. She would usually stay up past midnight waiting for Key so something like this was normal. She found something that caught her interest and watched it.

She was woken up by the shrill sound of the house phone ringing, getting up she noticed it was 3 am. Looking around and seeing no sign of Key anywhere she knew something must be wrong, calls this early in the morning never led to any good news.

"Hello," she had a hard time hearing what was going on, the music in the background was deafening, she had to strain to make sense of what the stranger was trying to tell her. She was able to make out that Key was wasted out of his mind and that she needed to pick him up. Trough out the whole conversation there was one voice she was able to make out in the background. She thanked the person, whom she learned was the security guard, and rushed to her bedroom to change.

She got into Key's other car and headed to the direction given to her, she knew when she got there to expect Key to look bad but she never expected him to look the way he did. With the help of the guard shoved him into the back seat, he kept shouting  and cursing at them both. Her previously perfect looking boyfriend looked like had gone to hell and back, his shirt was ripped and his hair was plastered over his face. His previously makeup lined eyed were red and rimmed with the charcoal substance.

Heading back to the house she kept looking at him through the rear view mirror, he was drinking from an almost empty bottle of what she assumed was whiskey. He kept humming to himself randomly breaking out into random singing fits, at a brighter zone she noticed he was covered in fast developing bruises.

"Kibum, did you get into a fight?" She asked trying not to sound upset.

"What, oh yeah, this asshole was talking shit because I was hitting on his bitch of a girlfriend. Psh that slut came onto me, how was I gonna say no right?" He burst out laughing, "You wouldn't know anyway, shit that happens at a club stays there since no one remembers it the next day. You being a stuck up little-" she slammed on the breaks cutting him off mid sentence.

"I swear Kibum if you finish that sentence." She threatened looking back at him, he took a swig from his bottle and looked out the window.

"Whatever, just take me home." He said, his voice had no warmth he showed no sighed of regret about what he was going to say.

Getting home she parked the car and had to help a forever arguing Key, complaining about how he could walk up the stairs fine on his own. Once inside she finally let go of him and closed the door, he flopped down on the hallway never letting go of his bottle. She crouched down to eye level, his eyes were closed as he kept drinking, she examined the bruises on his chest and face noticing that his black hair was not only plastered down with sweat but with blood. She hurried and gathered hot water and towels getting back to him and began to clean his wounds.
