The moment the bell rang for lunch break, both you and Donghae dashed out of class and headed straight for the rooftop garden. Your heart was pounding so hard and Donghae had sweaty palms. Both your excitement and anticipation was too much for the two of you to handle that you nearly burst out screaming and likewise for Donghae. Jessica and Key secretly followed behind.Donghae, being a faster runner (of course), reached the garden first. He tapped his fingers on the railing and waited expectantly, and nervously. You were almost out of breath but pushed yourself to sprint that last bit. You finally arrived and saw Donghae. *He's really here.*Donghae had heard someone panting behind me and abruptly turned around, and a smile immediately formed on his face. *So she wasn't kidding.*Both of you walked towards each other and smiled shyly."Hi." Donghae started the conversation."Hi." You shyly replied.None of you spoke for a while, then Donghae broke the silence by saying, "So, I guess we both know why we're here?"You giggled silently, "Yeah, I think you should start first."To your surprise, Donghae furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head slightly to the side in confusion. "Huh? What do you mean I should go first? Aren't you the one who has something to tell me?"Now you were confused. *What is he talking about?* "What? I have something to tell you? You were the one who said you wanted to meet me here to talk to me!"Now the both of you were extremely confused. Jessica face-palmed herself and Key sighed deeply. Things were definitely going in the opposite direction they should have been going.You quickly took out your phone and showed the text to Donghae. "See, you were the one who said you wanted to meet up here!"Donghae's eyes widened. "WHAT! I never sent you that text!" He, too immediately took out his phone and showed you the text 'you' sent. "Did you send this to me?"Your eyes were threatening to pop out of their sockets and you shook your head vigorously. "No, I SO did not send that."Even as the both of you were weirded out by the situation, there was a tugging feeling in your hearts. The feeling of disappointment and sadness. *So she doesn't like me after all...* *How could I have even expected him to like me anyway?* You looked down towards the ground in despair.Jessica and Key knew that had to step out now to fix the situation."Ok guys, we're sorry we got you into this mess. It was actually us who sent those messages for you. But it was because the two of you were so stubborn and unwillingly to confess your true feelings for each other! So we just wanted to help you." Key calmly explained."So, since our plan failed, let's just try to get on with something else now." Jessica urged and turned to Donghae, "Donghae oppa, let me ask you now. Do you like ~~~~~?" Jessica asked enthusiastically and was smiling in delight.You couldn't peel your eyes off the ground and shut your eyes, afraid to hear the answer. On the other hand, Donghae was totally unsure of what to do. *What if she doesn't like me back? I really don't think I would be able to handle the rejection. I can't confess. I have no courage to!*"Of course I don't." Donghae blurted. "She's just a maid and another schoolmate to me."Both Jessica's and Key's eyes widened in utter shock and disbelief. But the one who was truly hurt was you. You couldn't believe your ears. As much as you expected that someone like him wouldn't ever like you, it was still hard to accept after hearing it for yourself.Donghae was also appalled by what he had just blurted out aloud. *NO THAT IS NOT HOW I FEEL!*Tears were trickling down your face, but you bowed your head even more so that none of them would see. You sprinted out of the rooftop garden and headed straight back to class. Your heart was shattered into pieces and your head was hurting. *Why did I even like you in the first place? If I didn't bear that hope that you may like me back, I wouldn't be feeling all this hurt now...* Back at the garden, Donghae was still staring into space."What was that man! How could you say that sort of thing! I thought you liked ~~~~~~!" Key shouted irritatedly at Donghae."I do like her. I was just too scared of confessing. What if she rejected me?""SHE LIKES YOU TOO YOU IDIOT! Which is precisely why Jessica and I plotted this whole plan!" Key was like a bull who had seen red.*She likes me? Oh gosh, I screwed up big time. She's probably bawling her eyes out right now.* Now it was Donghae's turn to feel his heart ache.Key stared at Donghae, "you better make sure ~~~~~~ doesn't remain hurt or else I'll bash you up.
