Opening Up (1/1)
The two of you sat at the balcony and sipped your cappuccinos. Donghae purposely sipped abnormally slowly just so he could spend a little more time with you. As you were staring into space, you gazed up to the sky and admired the stars. *Mum, dad, and Grace, are you up there? Can you see me? I miss you so much I would do anything to see all of you again.* You longingly looked to the sky.Donghae glanced at you and wondered why you were so deep in thought. "~~~~~~? You alright?"You weakly smiled, but shook your head. "I miss my mum, dad and my sister.""Do you really miss them a lot? Do you want me to give you a few days of break to go back to your hometown to visit them?" Donghae offered kindly.You shook your head again. "I won't see them anymore.""But why?" Donghae asked curiously."They're... they're dead. Died in a car accident." It took you so much strength and courage just to say those words. You were on the verge of tears but figured you had to be strong and not always succumb to the tears."I-I'm sorry ~~~~~, I didn't mean to ask. You don't have to tell me any more if you aren't comfortable." Donghae reached out to pat your shoulder. You looked at him and you could see he was remorseful. *He's so sweet, he feels bad even it's totally not his fault at all.*Now you knew you could actually trust him. "It's alright oppa, I'll share. A few months ago my family went on a vacation. We were enjoying ourselves while singing in the car. This was when my dad got distracted and didn't keep his eye on the road. A van came speeding from the opposite direction and my dad couldn't diverge out the lane in time. We ended up colliding with the van and all of us lost consciousness. I was lucky that I was the least injured among them all and woke up fast. But when I woke up, I found out that they... t-they were g-gone..." You stuttered and a few tears trickled down your cheeks. Honestly, you hated yourself for being so weak and you were tired of crying. But thinking of the past always made you nostalgic and inevitably sad.*The sight of her crying makes my heart ache. Does this really mean I like her?* Donghae reached out for you and loosely embraced you in case you felt uncomfortable. He lightly patted your back to soothe your sobs. "Don't think about it anymore. At least for now. And please know that I'll always be here for you, ~~~~~~." He lifted your chin to look at him. "If you ever need someone to lean on, always remember you have me alright?"You gratefully nodded and smiled in gratitude. *Thank you Donghae oppa. Thank you so much.*The both of you then realized that you two had finished the cappuccinos. You politely took the cup from him, (after all it was your duty as a maid to do any dishes) and bowed. "Thank you Donghae oppa for listening to me. Goodnight." You smiled and turned around."Wait!" Donghae called out. You turned around and looked at him expectantly. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Uhm... goodnight." Donghae mentally slapped himself. *Couldn't I come up with something better to say than goodnight!?* But even if he wanted to say more, you had already left the balcony. *But it is good knowing she's opening up to me. I absolutely didn't expect that she had gone through so much obstacles and hardships. I hope... maybe... just maybe I can bring back happiness into her life.*------------------------------------------------------------------------------Comments?:DI feel like my story is getting from bad to worse );
