Apology (1/2)

"Oww..." Donghae winced in pain. The nurse was treating his wounds, while his right hand was gripping on firmly to yours. It did get really painful at times when his grip became way too tight, but you endured the pain, knowing that Donghae was in much more pain than you were.

Now, you were the one feeling guilty, for getting Donghae to be involved in this whole mess. You wanted to cry badly but you held back your tears. You couldn't make anyone else worry for you again, especially since everything was so chaotic at that time.

"I'm sorry Donghae, this is all my fault. You shouldn't have gone up to fight with them..." You finally broke the awkward silence, beginning with that apology. You honestly didn't know what else to say. All you wanted to tell him was that you were sorry, and that he shouldn't have resorted to violence.

"Yeah, I shouldn't have." Donghae replied bluntly. You couldn't deny that you were shocked by how blunt he was. Was he saying that you weren't worthy enough for him to get beaten up? Or did he really know that fighting and violence wasn't what you wanted in the first place?

Now, all the more you wanted to cry, but you held back as hard as you could, and remained looking as calm as possible.

Not before long, the nurse was done treating all of Donghae's wounds and advised that he should go home to rest. Feeling utterly guilty, you, of course, brought him home. You weren't keen on the idea that you would be missing school, AGAIN, but this was definitely the least you could do for Donghae.

Donghae called one of his drivers to come and pick the both of you home. And as expected, the car ride was filled with the same awkward silence...

On the other hand, Key was alone in the hospital wing. Jessica didn't want to follow him because she felt it would be weird if she did so. You felt bad that you couldn't go and ask Key how he was because Donghae was already waiting for you in the car. Your heart ached when you saw that always-so-cheerful-and-hyper Key limp back to class, looking so dejected and down. *Wait, why am I feeling that way? No... No, it's because I'm concerned about him as a friend, nothing else!* You thought.

--at home--

You helped Donghae to his room and got him to rest on his bed. You were getting ready to rush back to school when suddenly, his hand reached out and pulled your arm, stopping you from leaving. You jumped a little, as you were surprised by his action.

"You're not allowed to leave." Donghae said monotonously.

"Why?!" You were just a little annoyed. *Why can't I go back to school!?*

"Because I say so. You're my personal maid and you should be by my side when I am not alright. So just be good and stay here." He said again, monotonously.

There was no way you could argue with that, so you just sighed, and sat down on the floor, leaning against the wall. Seeing you being so cute when irritated, Donghae smiled and chuckled a bit. It was heartening to see that Donghae finally smiled, but it also made you wonder why on earth he was suddenly in a good mood.

"What's so funny?" You asked.

"Nothing," he kept a straight face again. "I'm going to sleep now."

"Great! Ok, goodbye!" You stood up, already walking towards the door.

"Hey! Who said you could leave?" Donghae shouted across the room.

"Why can't I leave!? What do you expect me to do, sit there and watch you sleep!?" You sounded really annoyed.
