6: Chocolate (1/1)

The following weeks after, everyone kept talking about the upcoming field trip. Almost all of the students are excited with the trip because it’s going to take place in a private resort for three days and two nights. Baekhyun felt excited as well but not in the same level of excitement as the others. He was practically away from his only friends because they were in different sections and his classmates are still hostile to him.He was going inside a cubicle and was humming to a SNSD song when he heard two person enter the comfort room. They both stopped and looked at Baekhyun before returning to their previous conversation about the field trip. Baekhyun entered the cubicle and already locked it when he realized there was something around the toilet bowl’s seat. He unlocked the cubicle and was ready to go outside when he felt someone pulling the door from the other side.Baekhyun heard laughters on the other side and he instantly knew that it was all planned. He sighed and tried harder to haul the door open. He used all his force in pulling it and when he gave it a one last pull, the people pulling it from outside let go and it caused Baekhyun to lose his balance and fall on the toilet bowl decorated with sticky glue and a little amount of glitters.He sat there for a moment. “Ah, this is going to stain.” He muttered and finally stood up with a heavy sigh. He looked back at his pants and saw the sticky glue and glitter sticking to it. He tried to remove it but it only spreads and expands to the other parts of his pants and his hands are already feeling sticky.The brunette washed his hands and walked to his locker with hopes of having a spare pants but unfortunately, there was none. He was walking silently across the corridor and he could hear laughter from other people. He was getting used to it and at the same time, he was growing frustrated with everything that was happening in his life. He could feel tears forming in his eyes so he looks up and keeps them from falling.    Chanyeol didn’t like how Nana kept on ignoring him for weeks already. He was mad at his girlfriend, yes. But he still loved her and it sucks seeing his girlfriend flirting with random guys and acting as if he never existed. He knew Nana was doing it on purpose because he always catches her looking at him with a devilish type of smile and he knew he needs to be the first one to step down or else he’s going to be crazy because of jealousy and frustration.Despite Kyungsoo being against Nana, he still helped Chanyeol think of what to do. They ended up with the traditional way to say sorry to one’s girlfriend and that’s giving flowers and chocolates.Chanyeol bought a bouquet of pink roses at the flower shop near the school and chocolates at the convenience store for Nana. He knew she would forgive him after this. He knows his girlfriend is just waiting for him to do this and so he will.He was on the way to the cafeteria where his girlfriend might be staying when he saw Baekhyun looking up before wiping something from his face. He didn’t know what it was until he realized people were laughing and his eyes met a pair of watery ones. Baekhyun is crying.Chanyeol walked to the brunette and gave him a worried look. “What happened?”Baekhyun didn’t speak. He just sniffed before wiping his eyes again and shaking his head. Chanyeol knew something happened so he, for the second time, chose Baekhyun and pulled him to some place and completely forgetting about his supposed to be sorry mission for Nana.The taller pulled Baekhyun to the school garden. He sat down the bench and raised his gaze at Baekhyun who was still standing and was trying too hard to stop his tears from falling by chewing on his lower lip.“Tell me what happened.” Chanyeol ordered and Baekhyun shook his head again, not wanting to tell what happened. But his appearance already gave the other a clue on what did happen to him. Chanyeol catched a glimpse something white and glittery at the side of Baekhyun’s pants. He asked Baekhyun to turn around and when he didn’t, Chanyeol just stood up and went behind Baekhyun and saw his pants covered with white that looks like glue and glitters. “It’s Nana, isn’t it?” Chanyeol asked and Baekhyun didn’t answer. He only received sniffs as a response.Chanyeol moved to face Baekhyun and saw another tear escape his eye. He used his thumb to wipe the tear rolling down the smaller’s cheeks and used his other hand to ruffle Baekhyun’s hair before moving down to his nape to pull him for a hug. “I’m sorry about my girlfriend, Baekhyun.” He felt his shirt get wet and realized Baekhyun didn’t stop himself from crying anymore. Baekhyun keeps on sniffing and sobbing against his chest and all Chanyeol could do is pat Baekhyun’s back to comfort him.“I shouldn’t be crying like this to you... you’re my scammer.” He heard Baekhyun whisper against his chest and he chuckled as he pat Baekhyun’s head.“You could always cry to me. I don’t mind.” He said softly and pulled away to see Baekhyun already smiling up at him.“Thank you, Chanyeol.” Baekhyun sniffs again and wiped away the tears on his face.“No worries. It’s my way of repaying for the fake tickets.” Chanyeol joked and Baekhyun smiles even widely before eventually laughing. Chanyeol laughed too but turned serious after, “But really, Baekhyun, whenever you feel like crying, you could come to me and cry your heart out. It’s fine really.”“I appreciate that.” Baekhyun smiles and eyes the roses and chocolates on the bench. “Oh, what’s that for? Nana?”Chanyeol looked at the pink roses and the chocolate. He remembered his mission to apologize to Nana. He didn’t really think now is the good time to apologize though. Not when he feels kind of pissed at what his girlfriend did again. Chanyeol smiled at Baekhyun. “Nope. Someone asked me to buy the flowers and the chocolate was for myself. But do you want it instead?”He saw Baekhyun’s eyes sparkle. “The chocolate?”“Yes, the chocolate. Do you want it?” Chanyeol asked and Baekhyun nodded. He gave the chocolates to Baekhyun and it was really nice to see the brunette laugh while talking to Chanyeol about random things as he ate the chocolate. It was as if he never cried and Chanyeol liked how it looked like that. He didn’t know but he felt like he didn’t want to see Baekhyun cried and now that he wasn’t, there was an unexplainable happiness in him.    The day of the field trip came and Baekhyun was already running late. He was in a hurry that he had no time to put his phone and wallet inside his bag. Instead, he held them. He was running when someone suddenly blocked his way and immediately took his wallet and phone. His reaction was late because of shock but he managed to run after the culprit. He continued chasing and he looked at his watch as he run. There’s only a few minutes before the bus starts to leave the school.He quickened his pace and ran faster. He successfully caught up with the culprit and gave him a series of his infamous kicks. After kicking, the culprit just gave him his wallet and phone then ran away. Baekhyun hugged his wallet and phone close to his chest. He looked around and saw that the place he was brought to definitely was far from school.Baekhyun sighed and ran as fast as he could, hoping that the bus was still around when he gets to school.    Chanyeol looked outside their section’s bus and saw that the other buses are already leaving. He didn’t see Baekhyun yet and he was wondering if Baekhyun was going to attend the trip. The last time Chanyeol and Baekhyun talked was the day before and the latter said he was going but with Chanyeol not seeing any short, petite and brunette male around, he felt worried. What if Baekhyun got sick or something? He decided to text Baekhyun to ask where he is. The two have become a little closer after the comfort room incident. And in contrast to that, Chanyeol and Nana have grown distant from each other. He never had the chance to say sorry to Nana yet and his girlfriend seems like she have quited provoking him to do so. She has kind of stopped bullying Baekhyun the past days too. He was quiet as they sat next to each other. Nana decided to sit next to him but didn’t talk to him at all. She was talking to their other classmates.Chanyeol thought that he would talk to her during the ride to the resort. The bus was about to leave the school when Kyungsoo suddenly announced he would go to the restroom.“Seriously, he just decided to go pee when we’re already leaving.” Chanyeol heard Nana whisper irritatedly. He looked at her and decided he would talk to her now when she suddenly looked at him with an annoyed look. “What are you looking at?”Chanyeol shook his head and looked outside instead. She sure is grumpy today. Is it her period? He sighed and saw that their bus is the only bus around and everyone already left.After a few minutes, he saw Kyungsoo walking back to the bus and he also saw Baekhyun, running towards Kyungsoo, panting and breathing unevenly. “Baekhyun?” He whispered to himself but it looks like Nana heard him.“What Baekhyun?” She asked and moved closer to Chanyeol to look at whatever he was looking and saw Baekhyun and Kyungsoo. Her eyebrows furrowed and Chanyeol thinks she’s angry? “What is he doing here?”“What ‘what is he doing here’?” Chanyeol looked at Nana who looked irritated as ever.Nana stared at him and blinked a couple of times before answering. “Isn’t he supposed to be in his own bus? His bus already left. What is he doing here?” His girlfriend crossed her arms and leaned back to her seat and whispered things Chanyeol didn’t quite hear.    Kyungsoo just went out of the building when he saw Baekhyun running towards him. “What are you doing here? Why aren’t you in your bus?”“It’s a long story.” Baekhyun panted and tried to even his breathing. “I was walking to school and someone took my phone and wallet and I chased him.”“Oh... tell me more about what happened in the bus.” Kyungsoo said and assisted Baekhyun to his section’s bus.“Is it fine for me to be with you guys?” Baekhyun asked as he entered the bus with Kyungsoo right in front of him. It’s not like he had any choice since it’s the only bus left but what if the teacher wouldn’t allow him? Then he has to go home and miss the trip. He heard Kyungsoo talk to their adviser about Baekhyun and the teacher agreed on bringing the brunette with them since there’s an extra seat anyway.To Baekhyun’s luck, Kyungsoo was the one with no seatmate. Just when he’s about to sit down, he heard a familiar voice shout. “Everyone’s settled, let’s go!”Upon Nana saying those words, the bus started to move and Baekhyun almost fell if it wasn’t for Kyungsoo holding his hand to support him from losing his balance. When he sat on the seat next to Kyungsoo, he sighed. This is going to be a long ride.
