fools (cant help falling (1/1)
There's tension lingering in the air. Nothing but the sound of the radio filling the ghost like silence. The adrenaline rush had long disappeared, the joy and excitement nowhere to been seen either. Yujin stares blankly, hands on the wheel as she drives through the long winding road. The sky was just as dark as the tension that lingered around the couple. Wonyoung sits lightly, her Heejin scented hoodie sitting in her lap. She laces the drawstrings around her fingers, anything to keep her distracted. She had been stealing short glances at Yujin. The older girl had barely said a word to her since they left school. She noticed that the latters grip on the wheel had gradually tightened, her fists becoming white. The young girl parts her lips slightly, her head turning to her girlfriend, "This tension doesn't suit us." She says. Her remark makes Yujin chuckly softly, "I don't disagree with that." She replies. "I know that things are a little strange." Wonyoung starts, "But, I don't really have much power over things. What's happening between us - between Heejin and I and the both of you, everything's just a little bit out of control." She unwraps the drawstring from her fingers and reaches for Yujin's hand. "For a while, I had no idea what loving you would do. It just seemed so one sided..." Yujin frowns at Wonyoung's words. "I know... I still feel silly about it - how I handled my feelings." Yujin answers."I honestly didn't know what to do with my feelings - or you for that matter." Wonyoung chuckles lightheartedly, "You made me believe for so long that you were with and were in love with someone else. Suppose I was also a little slow witted but for the most part I was totally convinced." Yujin intertwines their fingers and clenches their hands together, almost as if she was afraid of letting Wonyoung go."I had no idea how to handle everything. But Olivia came up with this brilliant plan and got Heejin in on it. I was a little worried about it at first. But to tell you the truth, I became so fond of her so quickly. She was warm and contagious and the feeling I get whenever I'm with her is something so magical and I'm not too sure how to ever put that into words." She notices Yujin loosen her grip on her hand, her expression turning blank. "I liked the way it felt. When I kissed her. And I'm telling you this, not to hurt you, but to tell you that maybe we had chemistry and for what it was, it was beautiful and unexpected... I even felt like part of me wanted to give myself to her instead. But, despite the urge, despite the way I felt when I was with her, the rest of my being longed for you." Yujin turns her cheek slightly, a small smile forming on her lips when she meets Wonyoung's gaze. "You really felt that way, even after everything that happened between you two?" Wonyoung nods almost immediately. "We hung out almost everyday for hours and part of me felt guilty because she knew how I wanted to be around you. She loves me but she was so selfless. She admitted to her small selfish moments, but part of me understood where she came from. She had her opportunity and she took it. I admire her courage. Honestly, if I had the guts, I would have just made a move with you..." Yujin laughs loudly, "If you believed the whole Jihan narrative I highly doubt you'd come forward and actually do anything about it.""Ok but-"Yujin is quick to cut her off. "Don't even try to deny it, bud. Though, I'm grateful that you're speaking up about this. It shows me how much you actually care. I'm really glad and I'm glad I have you." Wonyoung smiles warmly, "I just don't want you getting the wrong idea. At some point, everyone is a fool and whatever the circumstance, that doesn't stop us from falling in love, you know? And I guess that's what happened with me. I was so afraid of losing our friendship that part of me hated the idea of having romantic feelings towards you. But then came the unexpected..." Yujin nods, "You're right about that. And I guess that's also what happened with Heejin too. You guys barely knew each other that well before all this.""She told me when and it was just as unexpected as when I fell for you." Wonyoung answers. Yujin smiles widely and makes a quick turn, the car entering a well lit carpark with vivid signs illuminating the night sky. Wonyoung claps excitedly when she spots the Italian restaurant on her right. There was plenty of people. "I'm so glad we made a booking." Her jaw drops at the sight of the long line waiting around the builing. "I was gonna take you here even if we didn't win the match. I just wanted to take you somewhere nice. You deserve it after all." Yujin puts the car in break and twists her body slightly so she's facing Wonyoung. The latters eyes sparkle underneath the bright street lamps. Yujin sighs softly and brings her thumb onto Wonyoung's chin. She pulls her forward, their eyes closing. Yujin could feel her heart pound against her chest. Their lips draw closer and closer with each passing second. And finally, their lips touch. The feeling of Wonyoung's soft pink lips makes her moan softly at the touch. Wonyoung kisses Yujin gently, her hand tugging the bottom of Yujin's hoodie, drawing her closer. "I love you." Yujin whispers.
