“Sooyeon-ah...I love you. You’re the best daughter that I could have had. I just want you to know that.” Sooyeon’s mom said. *I have a bad feeling today, Sooyeon-ah…*“Mom…Of course I know! I mean, who wouldn’t want a daughter like me? Huh?” Sooyeon giggled.“No one…” Her mom smiled, “Say I love you…”“I looooooove yoooou, mom!” Sooyeon made a heart with her arms and put it on top of her head.“Sooyeon-ah, you still have my necklace I gave you, right? Always keep it on. It’ll protect you. My beautiful daughter, keep smiling. Forever. One day, you will captivate someone with your smile, so smile every day. No matter what happens, smile, my daughter.” She said, “Go on, eat.” She watched her daughter eat her dinner and cherished the moment. “You know that everyone has to go fulfill their mission first to become an angel right?” Her mom asked.“Yes mom. You always talk about. It’s always the same thing everyday...You have to go to Earth and survive there for a year to get your wings. #1 Don’t fall in love with a Human. #2 Don’t let them find out you’re not Human. I know I know mom.”  Sooyeon sighed.“You know why I talk about it. I’m just worried… You’re turning 17 next month.. What if they call you to go? I-I want you to be prepared...” Her mom choked on her tears.“Mom... Don’t worry; even if they do call me, I’ve been trained to go there. I know how everything works there. I just need to know how humans act, what they feel and try to fit in.”  She gave her a warm smile.“But…1 year. Time flies by so fast…” Her mom cried.“It does… so that means that that 1 year will pass by like-that.” Sooyeon snapped her fingers.“Who says who’s leaving?” A wicked voice laughed. It was that guy, the one guy that made their lives like living hell, the forbidden Tereti.Sooyeon stared at her mom in fright and mouthed, “Mom…”“It’s okay my dear…Just know that I love you. Remember what I told you today…” She whispered.“Why…why do you sound like you’re saying goodbye?” Sooyeon asked with confusion written on her face.“I…have a feeling, Sooyeon. Just know that I love you.” She cried.“Mom…I love you… but don’t say good bye… You can’t…” Sooyeon cried as well and moved closer to her mom when she saw him walking down the hallway. “Huh? Who!” He walked up and slapped Sooyeon’s mom in fury. She fell down her chair from the impact and stayed down, afraid of the beast that just showed up in their house. Sooyeon screamed mentally and thought of a way to stop him. While he was busy with her mom, Sooyeon stepped to the side and grabbed a glass beer bottle that the beast drank and left on the couch. “Step away from her.” Sooyeon said with her teeth clenched.“Hahaha. Lookie here. Are you trying to step up to me? After all those years of getting beat up and crying, why step up now? Huh?! Why don’t you just go cry again? “He spat in Sooyeon’s face with his disgusting breathe that reeked of beer and smoke.“Don’t come near me… I can…kill you…” Sooyeon cried.“Kill?” He cackled like a hyena,”You? Don’t even joke around.” He slapped her face and threw her next to her mom. “Heh, this is gonna be fun.” He smirked and started to beat them.This was how life was for Sooyeon ever since her dad died. How did he die? Him. That monster killed him. After the Head Angels found out that the monster was a Tereti, he was sentenced to serve them for their good, his whole life. But later, he escaped from the Head Angels and killed Sooyeon’s dad and forced her and her mom to let him live with them. He forced them to go against the law and keep the secret of him living with them.After, what it seemed like hours of beating, he finally left them.“M-mom…” Sooyeon tried to see her mom’s face through her tear-covered eyes. “Mom…” She shook her. When she didn’t reply, reality hit her. That monster killed her mom too.“Mom! Mom! No! Don’t leave me. You can’t leave me…Dad left me too…What am I supposed to do…Don’t…leave me…” She cried while shaking her mom.“Mom! Dad! Look! I’m flying!” Sooyeon yelled while she flew on the swings. “Will I be able to fly when I become an angel too?” “Sooyeon-ah, Angels don’t fly. We just are here to help others. That’s what we’re made for but most of us are…fading away. Our minds our getting taken over by..the..devil,Sooyeon-ah. So always remember to stay pure.”Her dad answered, “But don’t worry, you can fly on the swings anytime you want to.” He smiled.“Then the three of us can fly together! Forever!” She raised her hands.“Forever!’ Her dad yelled.“…Forever.” Her mom said.-“Sooyeon-ah, look at me.” Her dad cupped her face, “If there is ever a day when we are not together, always remember that you’re stronger, braver, and much smarter than you think you are. But the important thing is even if we’re apart; I’ll always be with you…In your little heart.” He quietly sobbed.-“No! Dad! Wake up! Don’t leave me. You said we were made to help others… We can help others together…Get up…We have to do it together…” Sooyeon yelled. “Mom! Help! Help me get dad to wake up!” She looked up at her mom who had tears rolling down her cheeks.“Sooyeon-ah, don’t worry. Dad’s just in a long dream where he won’t be able to…wake up for a while… Let him rest. But to let him sleep peacefully, we have to bury him. Okay? He’s just sleeping, Sooyeon-ah. Let’s let him go.” She forced a smile.-“Mom… You said… forever….” She cried. After hours of crying, Sooyeon looked at her mom’s cold body. She grabbed a blanket and wrapped her body, “Mom…Have a good rest…Only dream of good dreams…and remember that I love you..Meet dad and tell him I love him…I’ll meet you two soon..I promise”  She kissed her fingers and put them on her moms forehead, smiling.-The next day, Sooyeon went to school looking like a mess. But why should she care? She didn’t have any friends anyway. They all avoided her because of all the bruises she came to school with. They were scared the same thing would happen to them if they went near her. They called her Code Purple because of it. No one called her by her real name. But she didn’t care because only 2 special people in her life could call her, her name…Her parents that were in their forever lasting dream…She walked through the halls with her long black hair covering her face.“Look! Code Purple got more bruises…”“Oh My God… She should be banned from coming here…”“She doesn’t even bother to cover it up..”“She looks like the devil..”While hearing all these rude comments, she heard her dad’s voice.“…..We just are here to help others. That’s what we’re made for but most of us are…fading away. Our minds our getting taken over by..the..devil,Sooyeon-ah. So always remember to stay pure.”*Stay pure…forever, Dad.*“Okay class… It’s the day…1 Elipce will be chosen to be sent to earth to become a full Angel. We already had our meeting with the Head Angel… The Elipce that will be sent is in this very room.” Mrs. Lee said, “Lee Sooyeon.”“Huh. Why her?”“ She’s finally gonna be gone.”“I hope she never comes back.”All sorts of rude comments came out, disrupting class. “Class! Quiet Down! Lee Sooyeon. Please step out and go to the main conference room.”*I’m finally going…Mom, Dad….I’m going. I’m actually glad to go. There’s no reason for me to stay here. I want to get out of here…Out of this place I’m living in, called hell.*-“Lee Sooyeon, Good luck out there and we hope to see you a year later, as a full Angel.” The Head Angel smiled, “Remember , you can contact us up to 5 times by swiping your finger over your identification card on your wrist.”*What identification-* She looked at her left wrist, *Oh… when did that get there…*“Do I have to hide this?” She asked.“No, humans can’t see our identification cards. Only our kind can. Just don’t forget that it’s there.”“Yes sir.” Sooyeon replied cooly.“Good luck.” Was the last thing she heard before everything turned white and she was all of a sudden in a tunnel.
