Chapter Four (1/1)
A/N: The first part of this chapter is very uneventful, I apologize. Hope it’s tolerable. Also, as a warning, there will be acts of rape playing out here. If it makes you uncomfortable, please don’t read. 2,270 words OTL.--Seven weeks pass by in a blur of anxiety pills, thunderstorms, and empty bottles of alcohol.Luhan restricts himself from entering intoxication when his purpose lies among the goal of finding a one night stand, but when he’s by himself at home or at a club without wanting to find someone for the night, alcohol becomes his best friend. Simply because it’s a mind crasher, a temporary memory eraser, and Luhan needs as many ways to crush the past lying in his memories as possible. He has tried banging his head against the wall several times one time in which Jongin had nearly murdered him for, weapon free. After that incident, Jongin was always wary when he was witnessing Luhan around any types of walls whether it be a brick wall or even a wall made up of cushion. Jongin was just paranoid. But after many successful trials and errors, he had finally come up with the decision that alcohol is the safest and most humane way to get rid of anything bothering his head daily. And this is exactly what Luhan is doing at the moment. He takes another swig of alcohol, his throat burning as the taboo liquid travels down his body.“Dear god, Luhan,” Luhan hears a voice break into the silence of the off white kitchen. The light in the said room is dim and produces a low and barely audible hum, signaling the near end of the light bulb’s life. Jongin doesn’t wait for an answer and begins picking up empty green bottles scattered over the expanse of the kitchen. “How many times have I told you to clean up the bottles once you’re done with them? If anything leaks, it’s going to stain the floor.”Luhan scoffs, his mind half drowned in intoxication. “Kyungsoo is really influencing you. Since when did you care about the condition of anything?” He slurs, stumbling upon a couple words but not bothering to go back and correct himself.Jongin just shakes his head, and proceeds to pick up broken glass and bottles.-Hangover sucks ass. Luhan already decides this, reiterating the three words over and over again as he attempts to get up from his bed, his muscles aching and his physical condition providing enough reasons as to why Luhan should stay in the comfortable nest of blankets and pillows. He ignores his screaming body and stands up fully, a sudden wave of dizziness hitting him, and he stumbles as he walks out of his bedroom and down the hall to the shared bathroom.Washing up takes a while, but is manageable as he exits the bathroom, hair dripping. A little bit more refreshed from the shower he had just taken, he decides to fully cure his aching head and slips into the kitchen. There, he finds Jongin and his boyfriend.“Hey, Kyungsoo,” Luhan acknowledges as he makes a beeline towards the lazy Susan on the counter, and picks up a bottle filled halfway with white pills among the sea of other orange tinted bottles.“Oh, Luhan! You’re awake! I thought you’d sleep until past noon, considering how much alcohol you consumed last night. Jongin’s words,” Kyungsoo giggles, unaware of the fact that he’s the only one out of the three with an excited spirit. Kyungsoo had slowly become a mock mother to Luhan, after tying his relationship with Jongin only four years ago. He was as caring and informational as Jongin, but Luhan respected that he wasn’t as pushy and bitchy as the latter. Not knowing how to reply to the previous statement, Luhan just pops two white pills into his mouth, the pungent taste cringe inducing, and opens the refrigerator to take out a bottle of ice cold water.Kyungsoo continues to speak. “Jongin and I are going to the supermarket in a couple minutes to pick up some groceries. Come with us! And maybe tonight I can cook up some spaghetti for the three of us.” His large eyes sparkle with excitement and Jongin smiles adoringly at his lover, sneaking a hand around his waist and pulling him close.Luhan, who had witnessed that small action of affection, looks away.-Somehow, the two health freaks he called friends were able to drag him out of the apartment into the cold weather, the wind stabbing at his exposed face like ice daggers.Luhan regrets coming along with all his life as he has to witness the two lovers fighting over which type of bread to buy; Jongin, of course, deciding immediately on the whole wheat and grain, while Kyungsoo, being a little spontaneous despite his addiction to nutritious and healthy foods argues back in defense of white bread.“Hey, guys.” Luhan speaks softly, not wanting to attract any more attention to the trio in the market. The two boys ignore him. “Guys,” he speaks more sternly this time, not forgetting to look around in worry. “GUYS,” he finally finds his voice to yell and the two lovers stop bickering in front of him, along with a couple other witnesses, to turn and look at him in surprise. Luhan never yells.Ignoring the expression of shock apparent on the couple’s features, Luhan con
