A Date (1/1)

Do you want to head out for lunch today?” With a disposable shaver in his hand, Taemin probably stared too intently at his reflection to realize that I had just entered the shower stall. Drawing the white opaque curtains across the wall, I started stripping myself while giving him a reply.“What?”“Lunch. A date.” I wasn’t sure if he heard me right or was too reluctant to listen to me. I threw my clothes into the laundry basket and answered,“Lunch yes, but it will not be a date.” I could hear the sound of his shaver dropping into the sink even when I turned on the shower. Did I make him upset?“Can’t you give me a chance?”“You don’t need a date to prove that you are worth it. I…I just don’t like the sound of it, ‘a date’.” Just then, Taemin drew the curtains open roughly and stepped into the shower with me. I screamed in shock, feeling so flustered and embarrassed at the exposure of my body. Without even taking off his wife beater, he stood under the shower and stare at me sternly.“Then what are we? Friends with benefits? Are we going to have sex as and when we like?”“We are barely there. Lee Taemin, don’t even think about it.” I reached out my hand to turn off the shower and attempted to leave the confined space. “I’m getting out of here.”Taemin cornered me towards the wall before I could even make a move. He leaned a lot closer to me this time, his lips just inches away from mine,“Minyeon, what are we, really?” I bit my lips at the moment he grabbed my bare shoulders, this time holding me in place for a light chaste kiss. Pulling himself away slighly, Taemin snaked his arms around my waist and rested his chin against the crook of my neck. He felt so wounded but I was too confused to help him. “Am I nothing to you?”“You are everything to me and I wouldn’t want to hurt you.”“You are not hurting me.”“I will.” The moment he loosened the grip around me, I reached out for my towel and left the shower stall. “Let’s have lunch together, shall we?”… … …. ….I didn’t like the idea of calling our first meal together in a Chinese restaurant a date though it seemed like one. But probably for the first time, I saw Taemin and myself in a healthy and normal relationship, instead of one full of frustrations—sexual frustrations. I thought he was a nice man right from the beginning, but it was extremely distasteful when the only memories I had of him were in bed.I can safely assume that Taemin was a big eater and would go strangely silent at the sight of food. I stared at him with slight fascination and handed him some napkins to wipe off the sauce smeared over his lips. It was only then when he decided to give me some attention, smiling shyly at the way he portrayed his image in front of me.“That’s pretty cute for a 26 year old.”“Are you serious?” He beamed at me.“It’s only cute because you don’t get fat.”“Well, thanks for that sudden compliment.” Passing to me the last piece of dim sum on the table, we fell back into the silence again. I searched for the proper words as I chewed and tilted my head a little to hide away from Taemin’s piercing gaze.“We only had memories of ourselves in bed, but now…there’s finally something worth remembering.” Reaching out for the unused napkin just beside my plate, Taemin pinned my wrist down on the table and smiled smugly at me. I snorted, knowing exactly about what he was going to do next. “If you kiss me, I’m going home.”If only we could have such a relationship right from the beginning, it would hurt so much lesser. After paying for the bill, Taemin insisted on going for a small shopping spree before fetching me back home. We sauntered down the streets, chatting about the least depressing topics that we have ever talked about. It took only a second to revert the peaceful ambience into something so depressing. Taemin was curled his lips up gently when I came to a halt outside a wedding bouquet, gazing blankly at something he wasn’t really aware of. From the corner of my eyes, I judged his smile and could safely assume that Taemin had no idea how torturous that significant moment was for me. I spotted Jongin and Sumin in the shop, the latter blushing fervently at the sight of her fiancé.She then took small and careful steps across the room before circling her arms around his waist affectionately. ‘Do you like it?’ I could depict what she was trying to say by the movement of her lips. She leaned in for a kiss—I guessed Jongin really liked that wedding gown on her. It was only at the moment when Taemin knew what I was looking at. Just as Sumin reached out both of her hands to cup Jongin’s cheeks, she battered her eyelids and glared at me.I won was what Sumin seemed to be conveying to me with that smirk. Before I could break away from my thoughts, Taemin intertwined his fingers with mine before pulling me closer into his embrace.“Do you want to do some role playing? You can be my bride.”“Taemin….” I whispered back into his ear.“Prove to them that you are happy.”“I’m not taking you as a tool for revenge.” He wasn’t even listening. Placing an arm around my shoulder, Taemin pulled me into the wedding bouquet.I wanted to cry and run away.    A.N: Ask.Fm ask me any questions =3 Well JUST A QUICK NOTE (for the fun of it XD) I chose Taemin and Kai to be the main characters just so that you guys can feel very conflicted with your choices. Because I can safely assume that once you like either one of them, you will like the other too. Hehehehehe. Author-nim has thought about it really carefully before writing the story. Thanks for reading! :)
