Our Best Friends Forever (1/1)
"Where is Shay? And Yuki?" I asked my big sisters. "And Nevaeh?"The three of us ran through the hall corridor and up to the backstage platform that leads to a moving platform in the floor for stage above us. It was pitch dark and tons of staff people were hurrying around to check on things so the concert will run smoothly with no mishaps. Once we got adjusted with our makeup and hair by our stylists, the entire music dome was erupting with millions of cheers and chatter from the fans. I listened for a moment, treasuring how grateful I was able to hear the love from my fans every time we perform for them. It filled my heart with joy and it actually helped me work harder whether I'm working or performing.Suddenly, Nevaeh comes running from the left side. The entire ground area underneath the stage was huge and the loudness from the fans and being pitch dark, it was hard to see or hear anything. Nevaeh and the rest of SNSD run up to us as we all got situated on the wide platform that will rise up to the main stage."Vaeh! Where's Shay and Yuki unnie?" I talked close to Nevaeh's ear but I thought I was yelling more like. Nevaeh gave an exasperated sigh and basically collapsed while putting all her weight on me. I giggled as I shook my head before I grasped Nevaeh's hand in a close sisterly bond way. Nevaeh pushed her long, straightened dark brown hair which reaches almost to the lower part of her back. "All of us were at the hotel... and we were finishing some fan service before getting to the music hall." Nevaeh slowed her breathing, trying to fill oxygen back into her lungs.Nevaeh, is the main dancer and she danced harder than any of us in Miss World Stars. Nevaeh was one of my most closest best friends. Despite me being born before her, our age never got between us. We can speak informal and tease each other all the time. We're considered along with Deja are known as the "Most Beautiful Maknaes", since we were the youngest in Miss World Stars. When we were both younger we played all the time and made up imaginative games together. One day we were magical princesses who saved princes then to bad ass spy agents trying to save the world. The rest of our sisters claimed that among all 6 of us, Nevaeh and me were the most inseparable sisters. We both not only see each other as sisters, but we're both grateful that fate made us the bestest friends."The fans... mixed with SNSD's fans who are also MWS's fans... Are REALLY fast runners." Nevaeh's eyes were bewildered. She and I laughed together until our sides hurt. "It's kinda good to hear our fans, both from SNSD and MWS befriending one another right there in the audience levels. But the huge fan crowds are so crazy..."As I talked with some members of SNSD before getting into position on the platform, I hear a familiar squeal from behind Sooyoung."KAELONNI!" The voice called in a hushed manner from the opening of the doors to the makeup department backstage.
Sooyoung turns and even in the dark as she turns back to me she rolls her eyes. I smile as I understood where that familiar voice came from.Seohyun smiled brightly as she came over and hugged me tightly until I couldn't breathe. Sooyoung laughed at us before going to talk to Nevaeh about the staging for tonight's concert. I was basically a head taller than her, but Seohyun had a lot of strength in her, despite her small yet slender stature, to bring me into her famous bear hugs. I laugh cheerfully as she tightened her embrace. "Seohyun-ah! We just saw each other a couple hours ago!" I say as she finally lets me go.Seohyun gives me an innocent but embarrassed look. "Bienae... It's just that I've missed you and it's been forever since we last hung out, anyways!" She gives me a sassy look as she crosses her arms over the identical orange jumpsuit for MWS + SNSD's song collaboration.I shake my head as I grin at her. "What do you mean? Did we not just 'hang out', like, the 14 of us," I gesture to every member getting prepped on the platform on either side of us, "go shopping at the Ginza and Japanese shopping district and then went out to the Fuji Island resort to eat and have an amazing dance welcoming ceremony yesterday day night?"Seohyun and I laugh together as she blushes out of embarrassment. She grasps my hand and gives an exasperated sigh. "Yes I know because we all have pictures... But it's just that right after this concert, you all will be be heading back to the States and we'll be getting back to Korea." her eyes had softened immediately, sadness and disappointment in them. I couldn't help but reflect the emotions back at her with my own eyes.
I shake my head. "We won't leave right away. We still have all of Japan and Tokyo and Osaka to see. I promise." I gave Seohyun one quick hug before turning into position for the concert to start.
Seohyun had been here for me ever since we became trainees together and she, like the rest of SNSD, were so close in friendship that were like sisters. We've performed almost every performance together when coming to Korea or some parts of Asia. Also, we've done many collaboration works and music industry promotions together, raising each of our music groups popularity status into world time national superstars. SNSD are commonly known in Korea and Asia while Miss World Stars were known in America and the rest of Asia and Europe. But while all of us were still superstar popular to the world, hanging out just as friends was obviously a difficult challenge when being an idol star singer....As the huge music blasted from the many speakers, the sound of the heavy bass beats resonated throughout the entire music dome. The cheers and chatter of both SNSD and Miss World Stars fans combined were so loud and full of excitement, it was like the whole dome's roof might explode. As the 14 of us were standing side by side on the long platform, I stood almost directly in the middle. We all stood with our hands on our hips with long legs spread a few inches apart, as we awaited the signal. As the staff and production crew moved in a professional matter everywhere behind stage, the long platform began to rise up. The feeling in my heart grew warm as we rose up, and the sound of our fans grew louder and louder.
The bright lights and the flashing of cameras in the audience blinded all of us, but because of years of experience on stage none of us ever flinched or squint an eye. Then, finally, my most favorite moments in my life began. As soon as the song began to play, the lights starting flashing and swirling, and the cameras came in front of us, all 14 of us began putting our hearts out on the stage. As I danced alongside my friends of SNSD and my sisters I felt protected and important and I danced center. As we flipped our hair and moved to second position, I caught sight of Shay. Shay was seriously the most beautiful of all of us, and I guess she really did earn that title from the world. She has the most beautiful face and the most drop dead stunning gray-blue eyes. Shay was best friends with Yuki and they too, just like Nevaeh and me were the best of friends. Shay gave me a quick smile before looking at her adoring fans in the front section and her Star Beauty shined brighter than the sun; ironically since she is called the Sun Princess or the World's Goddess. Yuki also smiled at me as she almost lost breath while singing her part; being the lead dancer, Yuki always danced the hardest while making it look so flawless.
The main bridge of the song was coming up and as I sang the vocal alone with the others Shay stood center and she was able to hit every high note and her whistle tones were clear and soulful. The fans cheers immensely grew bigger and wilder to see their Queen of Beauty and Song shine her talent once more.
The fans cheered all of us on as they all began to dance and sing along to the song, "Catch Me if You Can", with us. During the song they chanted each of our names simultaneously as they clapped together to the beat. As I returned back to center stage for the beginning of our dance break, something felt off beneath my feet. I didn't let the thought phase my supposed sexy expression for the song as I continued to dance.
Yoona winked at me after her part of the song and I began to sing my part. All 14 of us were in a huge group formation that looked amazing on stage. I came up front as I sang my heart out to my fans I winked and blew a kiss as I outstretched my hand. As we all did two spins in a row, I felt a sharp pain in my right ankle. Thank goodness I didn't fall because this whole concert was being filmed for album CDs and any fan in the audience with a camera; which means basically all of the fans would be able to film my dance accident. Yoona and Seohyun gave me a concerned look as I passed by with my formation for the last part of the dance. As Shay, Yuki, Nevaeh, and me came up to the front formation with Tiffany, Yuri, Seohyun, and Taeyeon we ended our dance with our hands aligned in the air and the explosion of fireworks.Our beloved fans cheered wildly as they stood up and clapped, whistled, and chanted out names together. I smiled despite the small pain my ankle, the cheering of the fans filling my heart with joy once more. As all of us continued with the next and then to the next, I had realized that the 3 1/2 hour long concert was finally over. After our huge song and dance number, Galaxy Supernova, SNSD said their thank yous after our huge water fight on stage. I was almost completely drenched because Sunny and Tiffany ambushed me with a water gun and then Seohyun and Yuri splashed water in my face before I did the same. And after all my sisters said their thank yous, me being the maknae it was my turn. The fans all the while continued to cheer and laugh along with us being so close together on say he throughout the entire concert.I sighed as I looked at all the excited and happy faces in the audience. Tears began welling up in my eyes. "My heart is full of the happiness you all give me. Without you guys, none of us would even be here performing for you all. I just want to say that I am blessed for everything in my life and that I wish in the far future that you all will continue to support all of us."
By this point as the fans sang their Thank You song to all of us, happy tears began mixing up in our already ruined makeup. MWS and SNSD all group hugged whole also hiding our crying faces. Shay, our leader spoke as tears dropped from her sparking gray-blue eyes. "All of you are our World Stars and we love you guys so much... Thank you everyone for coming out tonight and please continue to support all of us in the close future. We love you everyone!" All of us, MWS and SNSD clapped and cheered along with the fans, feeling everlasting love and happiness in our hearts that shined when we smiled.Hey everyone!
