Bliss (1/1)
GD rang the doorbell umpteenth time but she did not open the door. By the time passed, he was getting worried. He banged on the door, “Dara, it’s Ji Yong here! Open the door! Open!” The door opened and Dara pressed herself to GD’s body right away. Her face was beyond green and pale. Her perspiration stuck onto his shirt and he could not ignore her shivering hands and weak legs. He embraced her tightly as she stuttered, “Cheon Dung… Cheon Dung is inside. He had come to look for me…” “Cheon Dung?” GD knew he was dead and suspected Dara was seeing ghosts. No matter what, he should assure her and cooed her, “Dara, don’t worry, I’m here. Nothing is going to happen to you, okay? Let’s go back in together.” “No! No!” “Look, Dara, let’s face him together if he’s inside. I’m a policeman, remember? Don’t worry and trust me.” He comforted her and grabbed her by the shoulder as she wrapped her arms around his waist after hearing the word ‘trust’. He could feel her tears dampening his shirt while they walked into the house together. “He was at the kitchen… at the living room… at my bedroom… everywhere!” She started to get panicky again. GD turned on the lights and found nothing in her house – including her bedroom. However, Dara was not calm yet. She kept claiming Cheon Dung was hiding at the corners. She pointed behind the television and even at the balcony but no one was there. Was she hallucinating? He thought and saw the handful of pills placed at the edge of the side table. He took her by the hand and held up the pill bottles. He could not make out the words on the bottles but he assumed they were medicine for her. He asked, “Dara, are you supposed to consume these?” She nodded, “I could not find them a moment ago. I didn’t take them today…” He sighed. Maybe that was why she was so distraught and listless today. He told her, “Why didn’t you? You have to take them accordingly.” Even though he did not know what illness she had but the look of her today concerned him. He decided not to ask further and took her to her bed before feeding her the pills and water. He laid her on the bed and patted her hair until she felt calmer and at ease. Her face returned the normal colour and GD became relieved. Her closed eyes opened again to look at GD who was sitting on her bed, “How did you get here so fast?” “I didn’t leave. I stayed at the carpark.” “Why?” “In case… you need me.” He hesitated and covered her with the blanket, “I don’t feel safe going home. I shall sleep at the couch.” He stood up but Dara grabbed his hand and made him sit down again, “Don’t leave.” “I’ll be outside your room.” “No,” Dara shook her head and bit her lips, “Sleep with me.” “What?” “Please, Ji Yong. I need you.” GD pondered hard. Was it okay for him to sleep beside the woman he loved the most? What if he could not control himself? She was ill but his irrational thoughts could not disappear. He scrutinized her worried eyes and sighed, “Okay.” He turned off the lights and lay stiffly beside her. Dara did not hesitate to go closer to him and laid her head on his chest. She had one of her arms around his waist, covering the blanket for him as well. He froze in his position and got his mind back. He had his arm around her neck and pressed his cheeks against her hair. This felt so… right. Even though she had taken the medicine regularly, even the effects of medicine could not be compared to how she felt when she had GD by her side. GD’s presence made her feel comfortable. She was no longer fearful. She was no longer scared. GD stroked her hair as he took in the shampoo scent from her hair, “Dara, sleep tight. You had a long night. Sleep well.” “I’ll definitely sleep well… with you here.” She admitted as she felt her face getting hotter. She had never said her true feelings to GD before. She started tracing GD’s chest, stomach and arms repeatedly. The fact that she could not see his face made it easier to say, “Ji Yong, don’t leave me, please?” GD could not resist anymore. He felt weak when it came to Dara. He may be the most stubborn, obnoxious and heartless policeman on Earth but when Dara was presence, he became nothing but dust. He lifted Dara’s face so he could see her perfectly – even in the midst of the darkness. Dara was feeling shy when he did that. She tried to remove his grip and looked down but GD lifted her head up again. Knowing she would not fidget again, he closed his eyes and placed his lips gently on hers, as if to ask permission for the kiss. Dara was not expecting the kiss at all. It had been a long time since someone had made her hyperventilate. His every touch, stroke, embrace and now, kiss made her gone crazy and her heart was not beating right. He licked her lips tenderly and Dara opened her mouth slightly for his tongue’s entrance. The kiss, felt so wrong to Dara but so right to the both of them. It was as if they truly belonged to each other after finding their way to each other. She knew one day, her actions would make her regret. However, the future was no longer important. The fact that she had GD with her, kissing her lovingly and longingly made her worries disappeared. Realizing Dara was also into his kiss, that made him triumphant as his love was not one-sided. He adjusted his position to lay her head on the pillow as he climbed on top of her and continued the kiss. The kiss turned from gentle to passionate and aggressive. Dara wrapped her arms around his neck, playing with his blonde and slightly damp hair. GD started panting when they broke away from the kiss. He placed his forehead against hers and smiled lovingly to her, not forgetting to reply her previous question, “Don’t worry, Dara. I won’t leave you.” “Promise?” “Promises are meant to be broken,” GD said and gave her another peck on the lips, “Trust me instead.” “Make me forget, Ji Yong,” Her voice was weak but determined, “Make me forget all the worries and nightmares.” GD knew what she meant straight away. He was tensed. He could not control his urges anymore but he did not want her to do this and regret in the future. He stroked her face and asked again, “Maybe now’s not a good time, Dara. You’ll not fully conscious.” “I’m conscious and I’m sure, Ji Yong. I need you now.” Dara grabbed a fistful of his hair and sobbed silently, “Please, Ji Yong?” “Are you sure?” He was giving in slowly but he wanted to make sure she was in the right state of mind. He loved her dearly and looked at her longing eyes which sparkled in the darkness. She was even more beautiful right now – on the bed. She nodded and proceeded to kissing his nose, cheeks and finally his forehead, “Ji Yong…” Before she could complete her sentence, Ji Yong shut up her up with a forceful kiss. They both knew it was a beautiful night – where all things would fall into place on this very night. Dara tossed and turned in her sleep. She could feel herself smiling in her sleep. With her eyes closed, she grabbed the blanket close to her. Slowly, she shifted her position to wrap her arms around his body. She placed her head on his chest comfortably. She groaned when the person beside her pinched her nose. “I know you’re awake, Dara.” GD teased with his morning voice. She opened her eyes slowly and saw the man she loved the most staring at her with the passionate and lovely eyes. She could get used to this forever – having GD in her bed and waking up to his beautiful face every morning. “Good morning.” She said simply and hid her face under the blanket sheets. GD was amazed at her cuteness. He had never seen Dara that shy before. She was known to be the stronger and stubborn one as compared to Bom or any other person. However, she seemed to be the younger and cuter one in his eyes. What Noona? Nonsense. Dara found themselves naked under the sheets and turned around, not wanting to face GD after that fateful night encounter. She had never thought it would happen. It happened so naturally and she loved it. Seeing her embarrassed, GD went over to lay his head on her shoulder and grabbed her by the waist which made her even more nervous, “Don’t be embarrassed. There’s nothing to be embarrassed of.” Not hearing her reply, he figured she was not ready to face him yet. That cute girl, he thought and chuckled, “Okay, I shall get dressed first and make breakfast for you, baby.” Baby? Dara’s eyes perked up and her heart skipped a few times. Maybe her heart had already died at the sound of that word. GD noticed her reaction to the word and smirked. He wore back his undergarment, shirt and jeans before heading towards the door, “Get dressed and I’ll see you outside, okay?” He closed the door behind and Dara sighed in relief. She was feeling so awkward right now that she could die on the spot. She sat up with the blanket still around her body and slapped her face. Suddenly, GD opened the door without warning and shouted, “Baby!” “Kwon Ji Yong!” She threw the pillow at him but failed when he closed the door again. Her face was flushing very badly and she collapsed on the bed again – embarrassed to the core. “So ham and cheese sandwich?” Dara raised one eyebrow and started inspecting the breakfast, “Do you eat cheese for every meal?” GD smiled foolishly and scratched his head, “You know I can’t really cook well. All I can do is…” “Anything to do with cheese and whip it up with anything else to make it an edible sandwich. Are you infatuated with cheese? Are you a mouse?” Dara said as a matter of fact and poured them cups of coffee to go along with the sandwiches. “Hey, cheese goes well with everything!” He defended himself and had one bite like a small boy enjoying his chocolates and candies. Teasing his ego, she said, “So cheese goes well with ice cream?” “Wow, that’s innovative, maybe I shall try that one day!” GD pinched her nose again and laughed, “Sorry, baby. I’ll make better breakfast next time, okay? Just bear with this sandwich just for today. I love you, Dara.” Hearing the three words from him, her heart melted. However, she could not make herself say it to her. Even with SE7EN, they had never said that to each other. She felt happy but awkward. Was it because she did not love him enough? Regardless of what, Dara smiled sweetly at him and hugged him, “I was just kidding, Ji Yong. I like every single thing you make for me – cheese or not.” She grinned and took a bite of his hard work, “It’s delicious.” GD got reminded of their childhood days when Dara would spend her morning cooking for him, TOP, Bom and Cheon Dung. Bom tried to help out but she was hopeless in the kitchen. Dara banned her away from the kitchen. Everyone enjoyed her cooking but it was sad to know she gave that up. “What are you thinking, Ji Yong?” She asked. “I miss your cooking.” He said truthfully. Dara finished her cup of coffee and nodded, “Okay, I’ll cook for you next time, Ji Yong. Your favourite… kimchi fried rice?” “With… cheese?” “No, you idiot!” She rolled her eyes and started slapping his shoulder playfully. GD retaliated by back hugging her and tickling her endlessly. Suddenly, the door unlocked and opened. Dara and GD had no time to react when the two persons came into the house. “I’m worried about Dara, I wonder if she has woken… Whoa!” Bom stopped in her tracks with TOP following behind her. Both of them were stunned at the situation and remained speechless. Dara pushed GD off and straightened her shirt. GD acted as if it was nothing and waved at TOP, “Hey Seung Hyun, good to see you here.” “Good to, er, see you here too.” Seung Hyun tried to mask his laughter and covered his mouth. Dara shut her eyes in embarrassment, remembering herself telling Bom that she would not be with GD – ever. Look at what happened now. Bom was going to say, “I told you so!” “Dara. In the room. Now.” Bom said with a straight face and crossed her arms. She looked at Dara intently before heading to the room. Dara took one last look at GD and nodded. GD seemed worried and wanted to follow before Seung Hyun stopped him. “Chill, dude. It’s women’s talk.” Seung Hyun had his arm over GD and they went over to the couch instead. Bom closed the door and back faced Dara. Dara could not see her expression and was worried Bom was going to flare up at her. “Look, Bom, I can explain…” She started the conversation first. “I just need one answer. Are you officially with Ji Yong now? Yes or no?” Bom turned and faced her. She pointed at Dara which made Dara felt even more intimidated. “Well…” Dara hesitated because she did not really discuss this matter with GD. Were they officially together? After last night, were they? “Come on, yes or no?” Bom prompted and frowned. Dara sighed and nodded, “I think so…” “KYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!” Bom jumped up and down while gripping onto Dara’s shoulders before hugging her tightly. “Can’t. Breathe.” Dara froze in her position, confused at Bom’s reaction. “I’m sorry but I’m so happy for you, Dara! Finally, finally, finally!” Bom started twirling Dara around like they were dancing. Dara widened her eyes in amusement and smiled at her, “Wow, you scared me, Bom! I thought you were going to be angry with me!” “What? No! Ridiculous! Why would I?” Bom was still smiling and hugged her again, “You finally found love, Dara. Someone who truly loves you!” Love. The word that Ji Yong used just now. Yet again, her feelings were in a whirl. However, she was delighted to see her sister being so happy because of her decision. Everything was worth it.
