Chapter 28 - Troubled (1/1)
Troubled *Hye Soon POV* “The elders are waiting for you there, since yesterday.” I was slightly taken back by that sentence. The elders wanted to meet me? Again? Believe me, I had a bad feeling about this and Hye Rin unnie’s serious face did not help at all. I felt my heartbeats somewhat increased. Not long after, I was already in front of the meeting room. Gosh, I hated this room starting from today. I took a deep breath and then reached for the door knob. I opened the door slowly, revealing the 5 elders who were sitting silently. The unpleased look plastered on their faces which were managed to send chills down my spines. Jeez, I was in a big trouble this time. “Ehem.” I cleared my throat to grab their attention. I then walked in and took my seat at the end of meeting table, so did Hye Rin unnie. “Jwesunghamnida. Forgive my lateness.” I did a quick bowed. “We need a quick action this time.” Like usual, the first elder started. Her voice was stern and somewhat suppressing her anger. “Pardon me?” Honestly, I did not understand what they meant by a quick action. I saw the elders rolled their eyes and let out a sigh. The second elder looked at me and shake her head. “I’m really disappointed by you.” She started. “I don’t know why Hye Jin chose you to be the next Pure Blood while there’s a better candidate in front of her eyes.” Okay, I was extremely confused now. Why did they suddenly bring out Umma’s name? What did they mean by a better candidate? I thought I was the next pure blood, the only pure blood after Umma. Did I have another sibling then? “What do you mean?” Gosh, they made me looked stupid here. “You’re hopeless.” The third elder spoke up. “What is this crap mean?” I increase my voice’s volume. Don’t blame me, they annoyed me. “Watch your words, Kim Hye Soon.” I heard Hye Rin unnie spoke up. I bluntly looked at her. This was the first time she raised her voice on me.“Unnie…” I whispered. “Pfft… An ungrateful child like you does not worth the Pure Blood title. You’re such a shame.” The fourth elder added. “What in the world is going on here?” I cried out. I could not stand this anymore. “We, The Slayers are in a big problem. A big numbers of our friends have been killed in these three days. More than half of us were injured now.” Hye Rin unnie explained. “Mwoh? But h-how-” I was too startled to finish my sentence. Oh my God, how could this happen? “And you called yourself Pure Blood? Pssh~” the first elder threw me her cold chuckle. “But I never know about this.” I stood up. “I’ve told her but she seems doesn’t care.” I turned to Hye Rin unnie. I was dumbfounded. I did not believe she was the one who said that. “M-mwoh? No, you nev-” “And I bet you haven’t killed Jung Yunho yet, have you?” Hye Rin unnie stared at me coldly. “You, ungrateful kid.” The third elder said while massaging her temple. “I’ve told Hye Jin to choose Hye Rin instead, but she was too stubborn.” She shook her head. “W-What do you mean? I- I’m the only Pure Blood here.” The elder just laughed and shook their heads. “I never knew that you’re actually this stupid. You think you’re the only Pure Blood?” the second elder looked at me in disgust. I could see Hye Rin unnie smirked in the corner of my eyes. Oh God, what happened here? Was she really Hye Rin unnie? “B-but I’m the only child-“ “No, you’re not. You even do not have any relation with Omma.” Hye Rin unnie told me. An evil smirk still plastered in her face. “M-mwoh?” I couldn’t describe how surprised I was now. Hye Rin unnie just rolled her eyes and shook her head. “Omma never has a child. She even never gets married at all. We’re both same, we’re adopted and trained to be a Slayer.” Hye Rin unnie stated. I thought I could not feel more shocked than this. My leg went limp and I helplessly slumped down in my chair. So, all this time, I was fooled. I was adopted. “But then, Omma decided to make you the next Pure Blood, just because of your face which is similar with the Founder. Pssh~” she chuckled and then continued. “She should be choosing me instead, not a pathetic girl like you.” I stared at her in shocked. I never thought she could speak like this. So, all this time, all of her nice and caring attitudes were just acting. “Unnie… you-“ I even could not manage to speak now. I felt the tears slowly forming in my eyes. “Stop this drama. Don’t act like you’re the innocent one here. We have more important business to deal with.” The first elder continued. I closed my eyes and gritted my teeth. I hated to be looked weak in front of them. “Give The Sword up.” The first elder’s words make my head shot up. I stared at her in wide eyes. Did I hear her wrong? “Give The Sword up, hand it to Hye Rin. She is more suitable for it. We did not need a Pure Blood who can not protect her friends, let alone accomplish her mission.” I was dumbfounded, speechless, thunderstruck, you named it. Please tell me that this was just a dream, no, a nightmare. Please, tell me that this was all a lie. “Hand it to Hye Rin so she can save the rest of us and kill Jung Yunho.” The first elder said as if I was really helpless. As if I was the one to blame for the Slayers’ death. As if I was the one to blame for not killing Yunho yet. Wait, killing Yunho? Oh my God, I could not let it happen. “No.” I stood up. “That won’t happen.” My voice was stern. I did not know where my power came from. But I just knew that I could not let anyone kill Yunho, no, no when I was still alive.
*Yunho POV* “What will you do now?” Changmin carefully broke the long silence. We were now in my bedroom and I was facing the window, staring at the darkness of the night. I tightened my fist and gritted my teeth. Don’t mess with me now or I guarantee you would never inhale another breath. I felt my fangs sharpened and a sudden urge to prey. No, this was not a time to kill some humans. I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, trying to suppress my anger. “Drink it. You need it.” As if Yoochun could read my mind, he handed me a glass of fresh blood. I took the glass and emptied the glass within a second. “It had been a while since the last prey eh?” Junsu tried to lighten the mood, but too bad, wrong time. I gripped the glass tight until it shattered into pieces and fell to the floor like snowflakes. Understanding the sign, he shut his mouth tight. “Told you, forget her before it is too late.” Jaejoong’s voice suddenly heard. I turned around and found him leaning on my bedroom’s door while crossing his arms. I glared deeply into his eyes, and I saw him glared at me back. “Shut up.” I hissed. I was not in the mood for another quarrel. I was in the mood for killing now. “Don’t say that I never warned you before.” Jaejoong kept his cold attitude and blurting out those craps. “Hyung! Stop this.” Junsu said and tried to prevent another fight. I closed my eyes once again and tried to control my self. I couldn’t let my self to kill my brother-like buddy, could I? “You never think about this at all, right?” he continued. Gosh, he and his mouth. But I couldn’t blame him at all. He was right after all. I never thought about this at all. Not even a bit. = Flashback = “Mr. Jung.” Yoochun, Junsu and Changmin quickly bowed. A smirk formed in his face. He then noticed the messy library and widened his smirk. “Having fun, kids?” he asked, her voice was slightly heard amused, but still managed to bring me Goosebumps. The others then looked at me with anxiety. Meeting my Appa was the last thing on their list. “What’re you doing here?” I asked with my usual tune. He chuckled. “Just visiting my old mansion.” he said then looked away, studying the surrounding. “Nothing wrong with this mansion, you can go.” I said. I was still offended by Jaejoong’s words earlier. I had no time to accompany him wandering around. “Watch your words, boy.” He turned to me and stared into my eyes. Somehow, his eyes reminded me of Eun Rae, or should I call her Grandma? The same menacing stare, in the same time suffocating. Yeah, Appa was surely her son. “What do you want?” I stared back. “Well, just wanna remind you about your task.” Jeez, the task. Hye Soon. “We have killed a lot of them lately. But,” He stated nonchalantly while brushed away some imaginary dust on his shoulder. He stopped and looked into my eyes. “They won’t admit their lose before you kill the Pure Blood.” He finished. I was alarmed by his words. My eyes widened. He seemed notice my shock and spoke up. “Why? Do you have problem with that?” he raised an eyebrow and flashed me a sly grin. I quickly looked away and took a deep breath. “I won’t kill her.” I said. “Well then, I’ll kill her for you.” He said. I looked at him and gritted my teeth. “You won’t.” I threatened. He bursted in to a laugh. “You resemble your grandfather a lot.” He said and stared at me again. This time, with a challenging look. “You don’t just take over his look, his charisma and his aura, but also his stupidity.” He chuckled while shaking his head. “It’ll be such a shame if the history repeats itself.” “You can play with her, but make sure you sent her back to where she supposed to be.” With that sentence, he turned around and started to walk away. “You won’t kill her.” I tightened my grip. I didn’t care whether he was my Appa or not. I won’t let him touch Hye Soon, even a single hair of her. He stopped and slightly turned his head and looked at me in the corner of his eyes. “Try to stop me then.” I could see his sly smirk widened. He turned back and took a step, then he was gone, in a split of second. = End of Flashback = “You never think about the aftermath, right?” Jaejoong asked once again. “No.” I replied bitterly and opened my eyes. I never thought that I would be this hopeless once again. Jaejoong sighed and shook his head. “So, what will you do now?” he asked. I sighed too. “Mol lah yo.” I soon felt a tap on my shoulder. I spun around, just to find a smiling Junsu. “Don’t worry, you can solve this.” He gave me a serious look this time. But then, he started to grin like a dumb. “You’re the Almighty Jung Yunho after all, the Pure Blood.” He threw his arms widely, with a dramatic look on his face. I gave him an ‘do you hit your head’ look. “Ehehehehee~” he scratched the back of his head and quickly ran away, hid behind Changmin’s tallness. I just shook my head and rolled my eyes. That kid. I couldn’t help but smirked. There’s an advantage to have a gagman in your buddy list, wasn’t it? “Yeah, Junsu’s right. You can solve it. Have faith in yourself.” I felt another tap on my shoulder and this time, it was from Yoochun, with his killer smile on his face. I somehow smiled back and nodded. “Yup, and we’ll be here anytime.” Changmin added. “Yeah!” Junsu squealed behind him. We sighed together and shook our heads. And then, we all turned to Jaejoong. He looked up and sighed too. “I have no choice, do I?” he said. Aish, that cold guy. “You better finish this as soon as possible.” He glared at me coldly but soon enough, his lips curved into a smirk. “Gyahaha~” Yeah, Junsu’s *weird* laugh covered the room. And what did we do? Well, could not help but joined him. ‘Hye Soon-ah. I won’t let you go anymore.’ I said in my mind and stared back at the starry sky. I just hoped the history wouldn’t repeat. No, I must guarantee that the history would never repeat.
