Reflection (1/1)

You didn't hate him as much anymore, but you didn't know what to think of him yet. In a way, you could accept him as a friend."Are you okay? You haven't been eating well recently," Kevin asked, concerned. He sat on your bed next to you and put his hand on your forehead. You looked at him, surprised. He put his hand away. "Is anything wrong?" You nodded. "I miss my sister. I'm worried about her. About the hospital bills, about her sickness. I want to go back and see if she's alright."Kevin's tensed. "I can't let you go back.""Why?" you looked at him sadly. "Why can't I go back? Why do I have to stay here?""Because I said so. Unless I say so, you cannot leave. And I will never ask you to leave.""She's my sister, she needs me," you tried to explain."You absolutely cannot go back."You got up, frustrated. "I don't understand how you can be so coldhearted."Kevin looked at you coldly. "I can't change who I am, ____. And you're staying here."You left the room and walked across the corridors, blinking back your tears. You didn't know how long you had been walking, it must have been hours. The endless halls never seemed to end. Opening a door and going through it, only to find yourself looking at another row of doors. Finally, you opened a door and found yourself in an empty room. There was a single window at one corner. You sat on the floor and curled up in a ball. Exhaustion overtook you and you fell asleep. When you woke up again. You found yourself in your room.Kevin walked in. "Oh, you're awake," he said awkwardly."How long have I been sleeping?" you asked quietly, getting out of his bed."It's past dinner now. I told the others that you were feeling tired so you decided to stay in.""Oh, okay." You walked to the door quickly, but Kevin grabbed your wrist."Please don't go. I'm sorry about earlier. I know you want to go back, but I have my own reasons for keeping you here."You nodded, not looking at him."I can't let you go back, but if you want, I can let you see your sister," Kevin said."How?" you asked tentatively."In a dream.""What do you mean?" Kevin looked at you silently. He held your hand and guided you to your dresser. There, the shining and engraved mirror hung on the wall. He motioned for you to stand in front of it."I'm going to wish for you to appear in your sister's dream. You can speak to her like this, when she is sleeping. She'll think she's just dreaming, but at least you can see how she's doing. There's something else you have to know, time passes differently here in Neverland. You've been here for two weeks already, but in your sister's world, it's only been a few days.""What? Really? That's so strange...""You musn't tell her you're in Neverland, or she'll think it's just her imagination. You cannot tell her about us. Promise me," Kevin said seriously. "I promise."Kevin nodded. "Close your eyes. When I ask you to open them again, you'll see your sister. When I ask you to do so again, you MUST do it. If not, you might never get back to either worlds."You slowly closed your eyes. "Open," he whispered into your ear. When you opened your eyes, you weren't in your room anymore. You couldn't see anything else around you except for the mirror which you were still standing in front of. And in that mirror, you saw your sister, Hwa Young."Hwa Young!" you cried out to her with delight. "Unnie!" she said, smiling. "Hi unnie, why haven't you been visiting me these past few days, have you been busy working?"You were about to tell her, but you remembered the promise you had made to Kevin. "Hwa Young, unnie's very sorry she hasn't visited you recently. Unnie's gone somewhere for a little while, it's all very sudden. But unnie promises she'll come back from you. In the meantime, promise unnie that you'll be strong and keep smiling, alright?" you said, struggling not to cry."Unnie, are you alright? You look sad..." Hwa Young said, worried."I'm fine, you be a good girl while I'm gone, alright?" you tried to smile at her.Hwa Young nodded, smiling. "Oh, by the way, there was this ahjusshi who came the other day. He said that the hospital bills have already been paid, so I don't have to worry anymore. Isn't that great, unnie?" she said happily. You blinked. "Who was this man?" "The ahjusshi had really nice blondish-brown hair and a pretty smile, he was really nice. Unnie should have met him, I think you two would have gotten along well," Hwa Young giggled.*Blonde-brown hair? Could it be Kevin?* you thought. Of course, there were others who had that hair colour, but he was the only one you knew, and the only one who knew about your sister. You wanted to talk to Hwa Young more, but your felt a force pulling you back. "Hwa Young, unnie has to go for now. Eat healthily, okay? I'll see you soon. I miss you so much!" you said, seeing Hwa Young's face in the mirror fade.*Close your eyes,* you heard a voice say in your head. You hesitated, you wanted to see your sister's face a little more. *Close your eyes now!* the voice yelled. You immediately shut them."I love you unnie!" you heard your sister's angelic voice call out. *Hwa Young...*
