Party Hard, Work Harder (1/1)
I glared through my safety glasses at the target almost 50 yards away, swaying slightly from the impact of the bullet as it flew through the target almost half an inch from the bullseye. Not good enough. I snarled in my head, angrily shoving the glock back to put the next bullet into the chamber, preparing to let it fly as I held my hands steady, keeping my Smith and Wesson Sigma SW40E trained easily on the target."Come on, come on..." I breathed to myself, taking in one single breath before I held it.Then squeezing the trigger, letting the bullet fly.The paper was flung back again from the impact, allowing me let out that single breath and letting my arms drop. My muscles were sore from holding the gun up for as long as I'd been done in the shooting range but it was tolerable. If I wanted to be a sniper like Tablo insisted, I'd have to practice, which took time.Time.That was the key to being a sniper.Everything had to be down to a science, every bullet had to hit its intended target at a specific time or all would fail. If you released the flying piece of metal too early, it could mean utter disaster--time for retaliation, time for get away, time for your cover to be blown and you end up being shot yourself. Tablo said shooting never came naturally, not even to him. It all took practice.Tons of practice."You missed."Fuck.I turned around, clenching my jaw as I looked to see the best sniper our little elite team had. Kim Sunggyu had his arms crossed, his smile eyes scrutinizing me in a way that made me feel as if I was under a microscope, being picked apart bit by bit until he found what he wanted. But that was the scary part about Sunggyu--I didn't know what the hell he wanted."I'm aware." I replied flatly, setting my precious Sigma on the small table beside me, beside the almost empty carton of bullets I'd gone through in the three hours I'd spent in the shooting range alone. I prefered shooting alone, considering the only other person that shot as much as I did was, of course, Sunggyu."You know, you'll never be able to actually hit a target, let alone a human skull, if you keeping letting your arms shake like that." He leaned up off the wall, walking towards where I stood, picking up my baby from the table, this hamster-like eyes looking over every crevice on my gun. I hated when people touched my Sig and he knew it. And I'll be damned if he went ahead and held it up like it was a toy anyways."Thanks for the tip. But I'll wait until Tablo tells me that before I begin to listen to what you have to say, old wise one." I smirked slightly, plucking my Sig from his long fingers, ignroing the glare he shot my way. I took off my pink-tinted safety glasses, laying them gently on the table before I picked up the cloth that I used to clean my baby whenever I could, gently stroking the chamber as I took the magazine out. "Lemme guess, nothing exciting going on upstairs so you've come downstairs to help me with my life problem of being unable to live up to your shooting?"Sunggyu snorted, the corner of his lips quirking some before they shot back down to normal, making it look as if he never smiled. "No, actually. Most of the kids have crashed but Hoya and Dongwoo sent me down here because they're bored and feel like raising hell on the town. I, for one, think you guys shouldn't stroll too far away on your own but that's just because--""You're the leader." I finished for him, shaking my head, sighing. "How could I forget?" I looked up from my Sig to see his eyes trained on me, sending a little wave of electricity through my body that I should've hated. But I didn't. No, I felt some kind of weird, girlish thrill whenever Sunggyu turned his glare on me, probably because it was sexy as all hell."I just like you keeping you guys alive, that's all. Being the oldest and keeping you guys alive, that's why Tablo hyung made me leader and not Sungyeol or L. Could you imagine those two goons leading us all?" Gyu raised an eyebrow, making the skin on his forehead wrinkle slightly, revealed by the gelled up-do he'd recently put it in, usually whenever the boys and I went out on the town."We'd all be dead." I replied bluntly, shrugging as if was no big deal. "Thanks for keeping us alive, Gyu." I smirked slightly, knowing that it pissed him off whenever I questioned his authority. Much like Woohyun, I found it kind of fun. "Damn right you'd be dead." He shook his head, those dark eyes trained on mine for a millisecond before he turned away, glaring at the target 50 yards away. "You do realize you wouldn't even dent the front windshield of a limo with that kind of shot, right?"I slammed my fist down on the table, making some of the loose shells rattle. "Fuck you, Gyu." I flicked the safety swtich on my baby on, opening the chamber as I stormed away from him, already hating that I knew he was right.Sunggyu watched Sae Rin as she stomped up the stairs to the main level of the house, sighing to himself as he watched her hips sway with every step. Whether she realized it or not--he was almost sure she had no idea--she killed any man that she walked past, those dainty little hips swaying as if she never had a care in the world. Every step she took was confident and she knew it. Sometimes I wish you would, babe. He thought to himself, shaking his head as he glanced up at the target again, knowing his comment to Sae Rin was a bit harsh but it was better to be mean than baby her. She'd learn better that way, she'd have more of a drive, which meant she'd get better. He knew one of these days, her shooting would rival his and he wouldn't care. He'd be so proud of the little girl that he'd known for almost six years that wasn't so little anymore. He'd watched her grow up to be one of the most beautiful women he'd ever seen in his life and Gyu knew deep down the he was thinking too much about her. They were partners, teammates, coworkers, what have you. He knew it broke every rule that Tablo could think of if he felt even the slightest romantic feeling toward Sae Rin. Infinite's leader sighed, taking one last glance at the target, before he went over to the staircase, flipping off the lights. Even in the dark he could see where Sae Rin's bullet had cut into half of the bullseye."I heard you wanna go raise some hell or something." I said to Hoya and Dongwoo as I plopped down in between them on the couch in the living room, crossing my arms as they watched some lame American horror movie that was currently showing some sex scene between two girls in what looked like some college dorm room. "I'm sure it beats staying here and watching same lame ass porn, like you two losers insist on doing."Hoya pursed his lips, shaking his head as he grabbed the remote from Dongwoo, changing the channel to the local news station. "He figured it'd be decent. Last time I ever listen to you, man."Dongwoo snorted, shaking his head as he smirked at his best friend over my head. "Nah, man. You know I've got the good stuff." He wiggled his eyebrows as if he'd accomplished something. "I'm not even the slightest bit turned on." L's voice came from the recliner in the corner, carrying that same mono tone he usually had, making Dongwoo's arguement even more in vain. "Man, sometimes I wonder if you even have a--" Dongwoo started, defending his lame porn for no reason."Okay, can we please go do something before I hold my Sig to my head and let a bullet fly? I'm dying of boredom here!" I cried, grabbing Dongwoo's arm and yanking on it childishly, using my rare-case of aegyo on him. He groaned, turning his face the opposite way, covering it with his hand. "Aish, Hoya! Take her away from me before I go buy her a puppy or something."Hoya only chuckled, knowing his best friend was fighting a losing battle with me. "I agree with Rinnie, man. It's boring as hell in here and Tablo hyung doesn't even have anything for us to do so I think raising a little hell on the town wouldn't hurt anybody.""Well, you can count me out." L grumbled from his spot in the corner, the remote somehow magically in his hands. "The last time I partied with you three, I couldn't remember my real name.""Because Myungsoo can't handle alcohol~" I joked in a baby voice, giggling at his sour expression. "But seriously, guys, can we please do something?! I'm dying."Hoya sighed, glancing at Dongwoo, who only nodded, knowing he'd lost. "YES!" I squealed, jumping off the couch, leaning down and giving both of them pecks on their lips before I ran upstairs to my room to get changed. I shut and locked my dorm, heading towards my closet where I picked out a white strappless dress that ended rather high on my thighs, with a black floral patter all over it, along with huge black stilettos that little silver studs all over them. I went over to my dresser, teasing my hair until it fell in long, dark curls down my back with my eyes done up in pretty smokey eye make-up, my lips painted a deep red. I smiled at my reflection in the mirror, grabbing my phone and handbag, heading down the stairs where I was sure Hoya and Dongwoo were waiting. Sure enough, those two plus L, Sungyeol, and Sungjong were lounging around the living area, their eyes all trained on the TV until I came down the stairs. "Well, someone's looking damn hot tonight." Yeollie winked, making me roll my eyes. Sungyeol was, without a doubt, the worst flirst ever. But you get used to it after a while so I just smiled, kissing his cheek gently."Thanks, babe." I turned to look at the dynamic duo known as Hoya and Dongwoo, both wearing black slacks and black button up shirts, their hair slicked up in a look that was quite sexy. "Now, I think it's about time to go to paint the town, boys." I smirked, taking the arm Hoya offered for me. "Tell Tablo hyung we'll be back...eventually." Dongwoo laughed, making Sungjong roll his eyes. "Yah, watch Rin noona. There are some pedophiles all over Seoul and I don't think she wants to be touched by one." Ininite's adorable maknae and my only dongsaeng out of the bunch pouted, making me smile as I leaned over to kiss his cheek. "I'll be fine, promise." I gave all of them kisses on the cheek before I followed Hoya and Dongwoo out the side door, toward the massive garage along side the house. I followed them to the other side of the garage, past Dongwoo's motorcycle collection towards the black Lexus that Hoya preferred more than any car in the garage."So which one of us are you partying with tonight, Sae?" Dongwoo asked, holding the passenger door open for me before he got in the backseat, while Hoya sat up front with me. Whenever I went to a club with these two, I usually acted as the girlfriend of one of them, which made it less easier for me to get messed with by some creep. You'd be suprised how many guys have actually left me alone because Hoya's been the one with his arm low around my waist or Dongwoo's arm thrown over my shoulders. "It's Hoya's turn, isn't it?" I asked, glancing at the handsome man in the driver's seat, who gave me one of the heart-melting smiles he was known for before I looked at the pouting Dongwoo in the backseat. "I swear, it's like you like him better." He grumbled, crossing is arms as Hoya reached over and did my seatbelt for me, making me smile at him in thanks. "Dongwoo, if you're going to act like a two-year-old, I'll send you back inside and I'll be the only one escorting Sae." Hoya smirked at his hyung in the rearview mirror as he started the car, hitting the button that opened the secret garage door, which lead out into the main driveway. From the outside, our house doesn't look that big at all. But Tablo had insisted on making sure our assassin status was hidden from society in every way. Oh, except for the cars,The boys were obsessive about their rides.Eventually Hoya pulled his car up in front of a nightclub in Hongdae, one of his favorites, I knew. Dongwoo let himself out of the backseat while Hoya came over to my side, opening my door for me before his hand went to rest on the small of my back as we walked past all the random people standing in line, waiting to get in. The bouncer took one look at the boys and I before he moved the red velvet rope, allowing us to enter the club, ignoring the grumbles from the crowd around us. Once inside the club, the three of instantly went to one of the booths in the very back of the room, me sliding in first while the two boys slid around to sit on either side of me. Hoya put his arm around my waist, making it obvious to any man in the club that I was not available. I will admit that Hoya did put on his dead sexy glare, looking around the club while I leaned against his side, talking to Dongwoo who had the honor of being our third wheel tonight. Until he got bored and decided to go skirt-chasing, whispering to Hoya that he "needed to make it look more realistic" between he and I, which made Hoya and I roll our eyes. Usually when I acted as Dongwoo's girl, it consisted of him always kissing on me but since it was Dongwoo, I never once thought about putting my knee where the sun don't shine, since I loved him.Hoya kissed the side of my face gently, whispering in my ear, probably making it look as if he was telling me some dirty little secret. "I like messing with Dongwoo. You should choose me more often." He gave me a playful wink, pressing his lips against my temple.I smiled, nodding as I looked around the club, seeing girls eye Hoya like a slab of meat before they glared a hole through me. I smirked at them, turning my head to press my lips to Hoya's jaw, listening to him chuckle since he knew I liked to be evil."I know a way to really cause a scene." Hoya said, taking my hand as he led me away from the booth, toward the dance floor, where some heavy dance beat was blasting through the speakers. Hoya put his hands on my hips, beginning to dance close to my body while I moved mine sensually against his, smiling as I saw the happy look on his face. Hoya loved dancing. Tonight was gonna be awesome."I'm surprised you even remember your names." Tablo muttered the following morning as the other members of Infinite plus myself were gathered around the kitchen. I was sitting beside Sungyeol, who let me lean against his side, my head throbbing from all the alchohol I'd consumed with Hoya and Dongwoo the night before. "Hyung, stop yelling." Dongwoo moaned, slumping against the counter beside the sink, holding his head. "No one's yelling, you idiot." L mumbled, eating a piece of French toast before he rolled his eyes at his hyung. "Where's Woohyun hyung?""Getting ready for school." Sunggyu murmured from the other side of the kitchen, leaning against the sink as he sipped some of his coffee, his eyes looking over the six of us, excluding Tablo, before they landed on me. Though I wasn't looking directly at him, I have the keen sense of knowing when I'm being looked at it and it was one of those moments where I knew Sunggyu was watching me.It was the perfect time to admit that there was some sort of weird vibe between Sunggyu and I. It wasn't like he hated me like he tried to let on. No, I knew better. The amount of sexual frustration built up between the two of us was almost suffocating but there was no way the cold-blooded sniper/leader of Infinite was going to give in to me that easily. God, the nights where I'd stayed up thinking about that man. His glare was the sexiest thing I've ever seen in my life, even when he directed it on me for doing something stupid. Sometimes I was tempted to screw up on purpose just to see him look angry or use his low, pissed tone with me. Deep down I knew that I was tempted to...somehow seduce the leader. Hell, if he kept looking at me like that, I'd probably end up throwing myself over the table at him. Oh, well.Guess I might as well get started.Without thinking, I let my eyes flash up to lock with his, smirking victoriously when he froze, his coffee midway to his mouth. Suddenly he ducked his eyes, looking at Tablo or anything else that moved to try and avoid my eyes. I had the sudden feeling that this was going to be easier than I thought."I think it's time to tell you all that you've been given a new assignment." Tablo interrupted my desire-filled thoughts, making my body run cold instantly. An assignment? But things had been pretty quiet up around here recently...The boys all got very quiet, allowing their leader, the object of my desires about five seconds before, to step forward and listen to his hyung for the orders. "I'm sure you're all aware of Kang Yoonji, Woohyun's childhood friend from school?" Tablo folded up the newspaper in front of him, glancing toward the stairs as if he didn't want Woohyun to hear. "Well her father's made some unfortunate decisions on his part which have, in turn, put his and Yoonji's life in danger. So he's come to me, since we've known each other for years, to help keep an eye on Yoonji. That's where you all come in. Hoya, L, Sungyeol, Sungjong, and Sae Rin--you all will accompany Yoonji and Woohyun to Woolim Academy starting tomorrow. Sunggyu and Dongwoo will be staying here with me, since yuo two are above the age limit to enter school."We all listened intensely, me personally almost being overwhelmed by all of this information at once. Kang Yoonji...needed assassin protectors? For what?"Does Mr. Kang know who is possibly after he and Yoonji-ssi?" Hoya asked, his eyebrows furrowed together on his forehead. "...Black Iris."Well, they're fucked....Well.Here's the first chapter xD I've been writing on it for so long that I've actually began losing how I type because my fingers are moving too fast for me to see what I'm typing xD It kinda sucks but meh~ ANYWAYS I need to give a HUGE thank you to bb_outrageous for letting me borrow the story line from her gorgeous piece of writing, License To Kill.
