College Visit (Part 2) (1/1)
To say the least, i didn't have the right clothes to go partying in.It's not like I got dressed this morning thinking, "Let's look as slutty as possible, shall we?" I wanted to look classy and fashionable for the college visit to make a good impression on the admissions officers! So after dinner, I called back to the dorm and asked Nicole to join me at the party if she could bring me some clothes to wear. I knew her parents wouldn't mind letting her stay over at a college dorm, either, unlike a lot of the other girls.Waiting for Nicole, Chansung and I hung out in his room, talking about his college life and gossiping about people in high school. Then, we started talking about Taecyeon."How is he?" Chansung asked."Uh..." I didn't really even know.. "He's okay, I think.""You think..?""He just doesn't really call me that often anymore. I'm sure he's just having fun like he should in college-- plus he goes to an Ivy... It'd be hard to balance schoolwork, partying and keeping in touch with me."Chansung squinted. "But still...""Eh. Don't worry about it too much," I smiled, "I'm sure everything is fine.""Why don't we call him now?"I paused and stared at him, "Are you serious?""Yes. I am.""But I--""When was the last time you talked to him?""Three weeks ago....""Did you call him or did he call you?""He called me!" See it's not like he's ignoring me."Exactly, it's your turn to call him then!""Fine; should we tell him that I'm here with you? I feel like he'll get angry and jealous...""He probably will, but whatever."I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my contacts to "내 사랑" (My Love), took a deep breath, then pressed the green call button. In the moments that the phone was ringing, I held my breath. To be honest, I don't know what exactly is happening to our relationship... maybe I'm overthinking everything, but I don't think that long-distance is a good idea. Sure he and i will be "together", but are we really? There's no point, and you know what they say... the more rules and constraints you have, the more you'll be inclined to break them."Tiffany!" His deep voice echoed through the receiver."Hey," I mumbled into the microphone.Straight off the bat, he could tell there was something wrong, "Are you okay? What's wrong?""Nothing. I just miss you."Chansung stared at me. "Do you want me to leave?" He mouthed."It's okay; you don't have to," I mouthed back."I miss you, too; why haven't you called me in the past couple of weeks?" He asked."Oh... I just... thought that you might be busy... too busy for me."He sighed, "Tiffany, stop. I'm never too busy for you.""Ah... But why haven't you called me?""I've been managing a non-profit organization for the past two and a half weeks, I'm so sorry, baby. I've just been busy... ugh. I mean not busy... but just.. preoccupied, I'm really sor--""Taec, it's okay!"It had always been difficult for us to convey our feeling through phone conversations. "I understand," I tried to comfort him. "I hope you're not getting too stressed, though." I said, trying to lift the mood by changing my tone of voice. He breathed into his microphone, "It's stressful, but i can deal with it.""That's good."There was silence."I really miss you, Tiffany. I just want to see you so badly.""Only a month and a half more! Hang in there, Taec.""Only...."Silence, again."Tiff, I love you."I smiled to myself, "I love you, too."Suddenly, there was a knock on the door."Come in!"Nicole walked in with Chansung."Hiiiiii Taecyeon." Nicole yelled into the microphone."Nicole?"I put the phone on speakerphone mode."mmhmm." She hummed as she sat down next to me."How are you? I hope you're not killing your roommate," Taecyeon chuckled."More like she's killing me. Your girlfriend is so messy.""I thought you were the messier one when you roomed together sophomore year!""Well... maybe she feels more comfortable being a bum around me now, because 70% of the things scattered on our floor definitely belongs to her."He laughed."Guess where we are, now.""Your room....?""Nope! We're at Chansung's dorm."Silence."Hello?" I said, wondering whether the connection was bad or if he was just being angrily silent."Is Chansung there?""Yeah," Chansung finally piped up."What are you guys doing tonight? Isn't it kind of late? Why are they still at your dorm when they have to be back to campus in half an hour?""They're staying over tonight; we're going to a frat party."Silence....but just as I was about to say something, he replied, "What."The three of us looked at each other."Can I just talk to Tiffany, for a second?" He said."Yeah," I said as I put the phone back into individual mode. "It's just me now.""I'm not going to tell you you can't go, because that's not fair to you.... but... I don't know, Tiffany... I'm just...""Jealous?" I finished his sentence."A little. Okay, a lot.""Don't worry, okay? I promise nothing bad will happen.""Don't make promises you can't keep, remember?""I know. I don't.""But you don't understand... if you drink, you're not going to be able to control yourself-- hell, you probably won't even remember what happened."Chansung stuck his hand out to ask for the phone."Chansung wants to talk to you..." I said as I handed the phone over."I'll take good care of her, dude. Don't even worry. I won't let her do things you'll disapprove of, okay?"......"Yeah; we'll talk later,"........"Mhmm..."........"Alright, see ya."He handed me back the phone."Just don't go crazy, okay?""I won't~" I tried to sound cute."Alright; go have fun."After hanging up and putting my phone away, I looked at Chansung and Nicole. We all smiled at each other."Jay's coming too, guys." Nicole said, "I just texted him to come.""Oh right-- he goes to school near here. I almost forgot," Chansung said."Guys, I'm so excited!" I squealed."I wonder what you'll be like when you get tipsy..." Nicole said."Who said I was going to go and get drunk?" I looked aside suspiciously."Don't even give me that!" Chansung said, throwing a pillow at me.We laughed, and got up to get ready for the party. As we stepped through the doors of the frat house, I already smelled a pungent mix of alcohol and weed. Ew. Ugh. Nicole has a thing for making wear little clothes, doesn't she....She could've brought me anything in my closet, and yet she decided to make me wear her crop top and mini jean shorts. Great..Right off the bat, someone approached me to chat me up-- I wouldn't really call it chatting up, though... all he did was stare at my body, which was revealed by this goddamn crop top. I glared at Nicole as she laughed."Wanna go around to the back? I can't really hear you over the music," the boy said."Umm..." I'm pretty sure this is some trick to get me to hook up with him.He waited for my reply."Actually, she's here with me," Jay stepped in.I turned around at the unexpected intervention."Thanks," I whispered."Ah, sorry, man." The boy backed off."Look at you, reeling in the guys already...""What can I say, I'm just soooo attractive," I said sarcastically."Tiffany, don't be like that. You are."I shrugged. I felt so self conscious in the moment. "Let's get some drinks."He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the table of drinks and we grabbed some beer. The party was extremely lively, people were playing beer pong, there was a mosh pit on one side dancing crazily. Girls acting sluttily, guys pointing at girls and approaching them. The house music pulsed throughout the house. We down our drinks; then, came the shots.Apparently it had spread throughout the party that I was the youngest person at the party, and so, as my rite of passage, they made me take as many shots as I could. After seven, I could feel my consciousness leaving me, and got up. No more. But just as I stood up, my knees gave out and I collapsed, but someone caught me. And that's all I remember....I woke up in Chansung's clothes, on his bed, lying next to Nicole.Interesting...I sat up... a little too quickly as I felt as if my head was splittlng when I was at an upright position. "Ugghh." I groaned."You're up?" Jay said, spinning around on Chansung's desk chair."Mmmmmm....." I said with my hand on my head."Do you remember anything from last night?"I tried to think, but my memory had seem to have gone blank."Nothing, right?"I nodded as he passed me a bottle of water."That's what I thought," he chuckled.I downed the water."Nine shots in an hour... you know the average limit is twelve... and that's when you die.""That's nice to know," I said as I rubbed my eyes."Guys, shut up," Nicole said as she rolled over, pulling away all the blankets for herself.Jay chuckled."Where's Chansung?" I mumbled."He's getting breakfast for you guys. He should be back soon.""Wanna fill me in on what happened last night?""You were crazy to say the least."Oh God. "Spill it.""Let's go outside to talk, I think Nicole is getting angry," he chuckled as we both looked over at Nicole who had wrapped herself into a giant blanket burrito.I slid off the bed and still felt the weakness in my knees."Careful, Tiff." We slipped out the door into the hallway of the suite and plopped ourselves down on the floor."You should never get drunk, ever.""Why?""Are you kidding? Do you know how many guys you approached yesterday while drunk?""Oh my god. Please don't tell me I hooked up with anyone.""Don't worry, Chansung kept an eye on you, and had to pry you off of every guy you were getting to physical with on the dancefloor.""Oh God." I took another sip of water."Not gonna lie, it was pretty funny to watch."I sat silently."You got on a table and took off your shirt... umm. I think you yelled something like 'GET AT ME, BOYS~".... God, you were such a horny drunk, though I have to thank you for not puking. I was expecting it, but it just didn't happen.""Wait, question. How did I get so clean...?""You didn't pass out immediately. After Chansung carried you back and was about to change you into cleaner clothes, you woke up and took a shower by yourself.""I what..." I felt some of these memories coming back to me, but there was definitely something Jay wasn't telling me, a big chunk of the puzzle in my mind was missing."What about Nicole?""Chansung had to get a close girl friend of his to come and help. You were passed out by the time I brought Nicole back.""Sorry to make you guys take care of us.""It's okay. It was fun seeing you act like such a wild child.""Ugh....."The door of the suite opened."What are you guys doing sitting out here?" Chansung asked."Nicole's still sleeping, so I was just filling Tiffany in on what had happened last night."Chansung chuckled, "Don't ever do that when I'm not around, okay?""I promise," I laughed."I brought you brunch," he said, extending his hand to pull me up off the ground."Thanks. But I think i have to brush my teeth first. I still taste the alcohol.""I have some extra toothbrushes in the cabinet under the sink, help yourself," he pointed."I'll be right out," I flicked the light on in the bathroom. "Oh.. and Chansung?" I turned back."Hmm?""Thanks for taking care of me," I said."No problem at all." As i grabbed a face towel and toothbrush from the cabinet, I tried hard to remember that chunk of time that i hadn't been told about. What could have happened? I feel like it must've happened after i left the party...I began brushing my teeth.Hmm.... Think. Think really hard.Wait.....I could remember Chansung's face, lit by a dim light from the lightpost.Think harder, Tiffany.I think I remember falling on the uneven path and him catching me.I spit into the sink, and continued brushing."You're probably too drunk to even remember this tomorrow.... but it'd make me feel better to just say this: I still like you...."What.I quickly finished brushing my teeth and washed my face with the face towel.I hung up the towel and placed the toothbrush in the cup on the edge of the sink.Chansung.But maybe it would be better to not think about this. I mean, I thought that he had moved on.. but not? I knew that he had still liked me when they graduated, but wasn't college supposed to widen his horizons? I didn't think he was that serious when he told me that there was no way of changing his mind. What if my mind was making this up, though? What if my jumbled thoughts were just messing with me?I stepped back into the room, Chansung and Jay were already eating the take-out.Chansung handed me a box of breakfast foods."I got you waffles with chocolate chips and bananas, drizzled with honey-- just the way you like it."Touched by the thoughtfulness, I smiled at him. "Aww. That's so sweet." As we ate, they continued to fill me in on the events of the night-- they told me the crazy things Nicole did. Apparently, she hooked up with three guys and grinded on practically everyone. You go, roommate. When she woke up, Chansung asked me if I wanted to go for a walk to get some fresh air.Grabbing my zip-up hoodie, I linked my arm with his and we strolled out together.First we went to the coffee shop to pick up some tea, then he brought me to a giant hill that gazed over a beautiful scenery. We plopped ourselves down on the bench."Chansung, I'm starting to remember last night a little bit more." I looked directly at him, observing his reactions. He looked straight at the scenery, avoiding eye contact, "Ah, really? Like what?""Little bits and pieces. Something along the lines of 'I still like you'...""Who said that?""I mean... there could only be one person."He looked at me and smiled. "Does it really matter?""Tell me what happened last night after we left the party...""uh..." He looked down at his tea and fiddled with his fingers."Please? And don't censor anything.""Fine. Get comfortable, we'll be here for a while." His expression changed.-------------------------------------------------------I've updated! hahaugh this is such a bad idea to start this...
