Jiyeon leans forward and says smoothly into the mic once the song reaches its coda."Anyone who just tuned in by now, you're here with me, Kei, on 1 AM Heart Station, midnight radio show for lovers! Wanna convey something  for a special someone? Love confession, apology, I miss you, simple good night, or you just need to spazz about how perfect your crush is, tell me anything and I will play a song which suits the most for you and your beloved one!"As a college student it's actually hard to do part time job during midnight on weekdays, but Jiyeon loves being Kei. She likes listening to people's stories about their significant other, encouraging some who are about to declare their love, giving consolation and advice for them who are broken-hearted (though Jiyeon herself has almost zero love experiences), and one thing that she absolutely loves the most, choosing songs for the listeners. Occasionally, they would also request song of their own choice, but most of the time people leave it to her to recommend a tune for them – it's the reason they love Kei, her vast knowledge of music and ability to somehow find this one specific song that makes them go wow this is so me."Oh!" She beams excitedly as a message appears on the monitor with few continuous beeps, signaling another call has been connected. "Looks like our next caller is already here with us! Hello?""Hello.." That first hello from the other end sounds kinda shy it makes Jiyeon chuckles a little."Hi, this is Kei! Can you introduce yourself a bit?""Yeah. My name is Baby Soul.." She speaks rather slowly, yet there's something about the way she talks – a familiar feeling, the one that makes Jiyeon's lips unconsciously curve into a little wider than usual smile."I'm glad to have you with us tonight, Baby Soul-ssi!" It's a very cute nickname, the radio DJ muses to herself for a moment. "So, what story do you want to share with us?""There's this someone.. Uh, I've been liking her for awhile now.""Sounds great! Nothing beats the feeling of being madly in love, right? And this lucky person who managed to grab you heart is?""I'm a senior in Woollim University, and she's freshman." Baby Soul begins to explain, and Jiyeon bites her lips as she almost let slip me too! upon hearing they are both attending same college. "We met during freshmen orientation when I happened to be her mentor that time."The host then keeps hmm-ing in response few times as Baby Soul goes on with her story; this girl she likes isn't only pretty face but also a truly hardworking girl, and maybe they would already be together if only she wasn't too shy to be honest and tell what she actually feels."The most distressting thing is.. All these time I always unintentionally shoved away the attention she gave me, I guess she probably mistook it as a sign of me disliking her. Not her fault tho, I'm not the most extrovert person and act opposite of what I genuinely want." Baby Soul pauses momentarily to let out weak sigh. And now Jiyeon is intrigued. Head tilted and her lips pursed together, as if trying to pinpoint something – something that's been making her feel weirdly all-too-familiar with this caller since the beginning."I honestly don't think she's listening us right now, but it's okay.. Although this won't ever reach her I just really want to say to Jiyeon – Oh right, her name is Kim Jiyeon.."Jiyeon freezes on spot."I wish you would give me a chance. Just wait. I am slow, and coward, but I.... I love you more than I've ever found a way to say to you."The rest of what Baby Soul says next turns inaudible for her, and before she could stop herself, Jiyeon clicks disconnect button on the monitor.———————  "Lee Soojung sunbae-nim?"When Jiyeon finds her, Soojung is sitting idly on the bench in campus hall. One hand covers her mouth as she yawns while the other rummages through messenger bag looking for her phone."Yes??" She stands up abruptly, bag and phone and heart almost fall to the floor."Oh my god I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to startle you!" Jiyeon quickly apologizes."No, no, it's my fault. I was drowsing off.." Totally mortified, Soojung doesn’t dare looking up Jiyeon’s face while replying. "Is there anything you need?"She's fairly certain Jiyeon just saw her by chance and tried to initiate a chat because the younger is a friendly, talkative person. Yeah, that must be it. There's no way Kim Jiyeon would be up in the middle of the night listening to a random radio show and even more random confession from a stupid girl randomly called herself..."I'm here to relay a message for Baby Soul."This time, Soojung actually drops all her belongings."Here, please listen to this." Jiyeon places an iPod into Soojung's small palm. "I'll see you later, sunbae-nim." She smiles before leaving her immovable, shocked-to-death senior.It's not until Jiyeon had completely disappeared from sight that Soojung managed to kick her brain back to life and plops herself down onto the bench again. Her hands are still shaking when she picks up her bag, fishing her earphone out and plugging it to the mp3 player. There's only one file inside the device Jiyeon gave her and it's a voice recording file titled 'to Baby Soul'.Hi! This is Jiyeon! That exact cheerful voice.. The first greeting makes Soojung realize immediately that Jiyeon is, indeed, radio host of the show she always listens to every Wednesday night, Kei.I'm very sorry last night I ended the call and lied there was a connection problem. But I did that because I was half too surprised, and half too happy, to hear what you said. It's kinda funny that at first we both didn't know each other's voice, isn't it? Anyway, I still owe you one song from last night!  This is picked specially for you.. This is Jiyeon's answer to your love. I hope you like it, and thank you for sharing you precious story with us on Heart Station! There's few seconds of still pause before an intro begins playing. Soojung recognizes the song right away while its first verse is starting up, but that's not the only reason her heart does erratic, happy flips now...when you move one step, two steps away
