World Kissing Day (1/2)
Series of knocks on her door wakes Soojung up from her sound sleep. The leader groans, hand reaching out to find the clock atop her nightstand. It says half past eight and she whines even more. Who the fuck wakes up at eight after long night spent filming in the outskirts area hours away from the city? Absolutely not me, she rolls over, pulling her thick blanket up to her chin.But the noise doesn't stop no matter how she tries turning deaf ears, and pride as a responsible leader keeps tugging her mind. Maybe one of her member urgently needs something, maybe Myungeun is sick again, or maybe Mijoo had woke up finding herself with alien horns and additional pair of hands.. At last Soojung climbs down the bed, dragging herself with eyes still half closed and brain only partially functioned towards her door, twisting its handle, and...
"Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa...!" Jiyeon's puckering lips welcomes her as soon as the door’s swinging open. Gone all the sleepiness from before, Soojung jumps away in surprise. "Why are you.. What are you doing?!!"
Everytime she moves one step ahead, Soojung takes long strides backward, and Jiyeon almost wants to laugh at such cute gesture. "Unnie do you know what day is today?" The flower of Lovelyz grins brightly.
Realization hits as she turns her head to the calendar hanging on the room's wall."Ah..." Right, today's July 7. Today, she's getting another year older.
"But you don't need to give birthday kiss or whatever cheesy gift ideas you're thinking of now!" She holds up both hands, preventing Jiyeon to move more into her personal bubble. "Really, I'm fine with just a happy birthday, okay?"
"No! I meant to say that today is also International Kissing Day! What an awesome coincidence, right?!"
"What international day?" Soojung cries incredulously.
"Kissing day! Today, everyone in the whole world share kisses with people that mean the most for them. Not for mere romantic purpose, but also to show how much we love and appreciate their existences in our life!" Jiyeon says, hands flapping in excitement as she recites the sentences from internet article she'd read last night. "For me, that VVIP I really want to kiss is you!"
"M.. Me?" Soojung stutters, her whole face's flustered bright red.
"Of course! You're cool, raps and sings well, you have charisma.. But most importantly, you really work hard and take care of us first before yourself all the time. We're truly lucky to have you as our leader, Soul unnie!"
"Noo Jiyeon, you're exaggerating, I'm not that good!" By now Soojung is sure there's cloud coming out of her ears from Jiyeon's candid compliments.
