[M] Chapter Two (1/1)
Right, so I now present you with the second chapter!!! And it’s midnight over here so I’ll prob crash shortly after updating but I want to see at least one reply. So read and enjoy guys ^^ The action begins! Heechul’s POV I sat sullenly in the back of the Maserati as Jonghyun carefully drove back to our residence, I could tell that Kyuhyun was sitting edgily beside me, ready to intercept any trouble I might create. It was taking me a lot of self-control to refrain from grabbing the steering wheel and going wherever I pleased, so instead I settled for staring out the darkly tinted windows at the drunken humans who stumbled through the streets at night. That man in the alleyway had only just managed to satisfy my hunger but now I was after dessert. A particularly appealing looking female was trotting along down the road and I eagerly craned my head round to get a better look at her, my fangs extending as I did so. I heard Kyuhyun click his tongue next to me and I whipped back around, a glare on my face.“Stop with the chicken noises Kyu, you’re severely irritating me tonight and believe me if you were a human you wouldn’t be alive right now.” I grumbled.“Yes, but you see I’m neither human nor alive –”“Stop it.”“– and I wasn’t making chicken noises, they do sound completely different –““Stop it.”“And now I’m trying to think of a time when I haven’t managed to –”I jumped across the backseat of the car and grabbed Kyuhyun by the throat, my fangs bared in anger. To my great disappointment however, he barely flinched.“Stop it.” I growled before slowly sinking back into my own seat. Kyuhyun held his hands up understandably and shrugged.“Think of me as your better conscience hyung, we have to stay on the down-low after last week’s little….misunderstanding and hope that no-one finds out.”“Better conscience my arse.” I mumbled into the window. I finally saw our coven’s large property on the outskirts of Seoul looming up like a creature of the night.Ironic really.I didn’t particularly enjoy being indoors, I preferred to stay outside, and I never even listened to the people who constantly nagged at me about the dangers of the sun. More than once I’d been found unconscious in a patch of sunlight and had to be dragged home, but I guess I always had to come back, who would lead these beings if I wasn’t there? I managed to tune my hearing to catch the last part of Kyuhyun’s preaching.“– And there is no way in Hell I am going anywhere near your arse hyung.”“For the freaking love of Lucifer, shut up!” I jumped out of the car before it even stopped and angrily stormed toward the house. So what if I had a lot of anger? Every now and again people are allowed to be frustrated; in more ways than one perhaps. I couldn’t be constantly be happy when morons were annoying me. There was only one person I couldn’t get angry with and I wondered where she could be. I sensed someone’s presence in my study as I approached and angrily shoved the door open.“I am not in the mood so I suggest you –” I stopped short as I saw MinMi swivel the chair around, her arms folded. Her dark gaze seemed to pierce right into my soul and ill feelings inside of me were slowly washed away by river of calmness.“And the kind of mood you are in now?” She shook her softly curled hair away from her face and I wanted nothing more than to kiss her in that moment.“A pretty good one now.” I smirked.“Good. Then you should know that the Covenant knows that it was you who killed those three people last week.”“Well, that was just a mood killer.” I grumbled as I wandered over to her. “Who told you?”“Rain, he’s still in America, he’s pushed back his flight until next week so he’s gathering as much intel as he can.”
“Has he gathered anything worthwhile?”“Yang Hyun Suk will be visiting Korea soon; you would want to clean up your act by then.”“Ah, Hyun Suk, he owes me a drink.” I said almost to myself as I stood in front of where MinMi sat. I glanced down as she placed a hand on my arm.“Heenim, I’m serious.” And boy did she look serious. It was a good look on her.“Do you know how good you look when you’re serious?” I ran my hands up her arms to rest against her neck. The earlier irritation and hunger I’d felt had turned into a stronger feeling.“Heechul…”“Sshhh,” I placed a finger to her lips, my face now only a few centimetres from her. After holding her gaze for a moment more I leaned in, kissing her passionately as though I were attempting to erase any memory of the evening – morning if you wanted to count in vampire time. I feel it necessary to mention that while I can be incredibly aggressive and angered, I am also rather successful at converting that into an even stronger emotion. There was no other being in the world who could make me feel as peaceful as MinMi could. Sure I might have flings with a number of other people but I always came back, I didn’t want to be anywhere else except in MinMi’s arms. Except there was one thing about her that disappointed me, and it was something I wanted the most.I continued to kiss her, an action which she responded to with great enthusiasm and I leaned closer, pushing her against the back of the chair. My lips slowly left MinMi’s to travel down to her neck where I let my fangs graze gently along her skin, earning a shiver from her but at the same time she held me back slightly.“Heechul,” She said heavily. “You know my rules about sex before marriage.”I merely tutted in response. “And you know my rules about marriage before sex, so we’re even.” I leant in to kiss her again when I heard a small giggle at the door. Heaving a sigh I turned to find Yoona peeking around the doorframe.“Any particular reason why you’re perving on us?” I raised my eyebrow in her direction but she simply flitted into the room. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes, she didn’t quite get that I was bonded to MinMi and I reckoned she did in fact have a crush on me. There was no way I would stoop to going out with a faerie though; they were far too fragile and flighty.“I heard about what you did tonight.” She giggled again as she flipped her sleek brown hair away behind her ears. She even dared to sit down on the corner of my desk before seeing the iron penholder and quickly wriggling away from it. Maybe I should stick a big iron cross on the door to keep her out.“And that would be?” I asked in fake amusement, feeling MinMi tense behind me.Yoona beckoned me closer and leaned over to whisper, “You killed a person.” before she went into another fit of giggles.“Again?” MinMi demanded behind me and I inwardly grimaced. While she wasn’t opposed to disposing of humans, this probably wasn’t what she wanted to hear after what she’d told me. I turned to quickly soothe her.“Honey, I assure you that it was just a snack, if it makes you feel any better I can have faerie for dessert.” I heard Yoona squeak and quickly flit out the room with light almost inaudible steps.Well, that at least was one burden off my mind.“Heechul, you killed three figures of the government last week.” MinMi protested. “I don’t have any problem with our diet, I mean it’s better than the hippie lifestyle of that other group, but can you please be careful with who you pick?”“What do you mean?”“I mean that Hyun Suk isn’t just coming for a friendly visit, the Covenant is moving to stamp out any rogue covens.”“We’re classified as rogue?”“If you keep doing what you’re doing, we’re not going to live to see the next decade.”“I didn’t do anything wrong though! I was merely curious about the security near the northern border, it’s not like I was asking if I could borrow a nuclear weapon!”“Heenim, stop making excuses! Any person would be suspicious of what you did. If you want to try and rule the world, please, please fly under the radar for all our sakes.”“I’m not interested in the whole world,” I waved my hand as I sat in the seat MinMi had angrily stood up from. “North Korea can keep to them, and Australia and New Zealand well…are they even worth dominating?”“Heechul!”“Look, I just have to find the key to the Pi’s undoing and then the Asian covens will fall to me one by one, it’s just that they’re stuck under Leeteuk’s supposedly angelic rule at the moment. Domino effect darling.” I reached over to hold her hand but she twitched it out of my grasp.“I don’t care what effect you’re looking for just…for the sake of our coven, please don’t be rash.” She hurried from the study without another word and I thumped my head down on the desk, successfully distracting myself from any small effects from the alcohol I had drunk before. MinMi and I may be partners, but at times I was concerned that we never truly saw eye to eye. Donghae’s POVI threw myself into one of the long couches in the living room of our coven’s large property outside Incheon. Sure, it was a slight journey from Incheon to Seoul and back but I used that journey to stretch my legs and grab any information that Leeteuk wanted me to gather. Not to mention I had also enrolled myself in another university there, it was disappointing to say that courses hadn’t changed much over the past twenty years. The people definitely did however.I snorted as I remembered that girl sitting at the table with her friends and how she’d been so eager to loosely throw around the concept of being a vampire. I wasn’t going to deny that being a vampire was good; I knew a number of humans who would kill – or in such a case, be killed – in order to have super hearing and sight, incredible speed and strength without the hardship of having to train for them.Abdominal and arm muscles unfortunately didn’t come with that offer, we still had to work for them.Nevertheless, being a vampire had its downsides. You couldn’t stay in the sun forever which meant no long summer days on the beach, you had to keep a low profile and you could eat very little or no real food. Oh yeah, you also had to survive on blood, an odd concept for many in the beginning. So for someone to so casually proclaim that being a vampire was a wonderful thing had to be delusional. I snorted again as Eunhyuk moon-walked his way into the room. Even as a vampire he maintained the title as best dancer. He did refuse to acknowledge that I beat him in Dance Dance Revolution at least twice.“Why so unhappy?” He threw himself into the seat across from me.“Ignorant humans.” I rolled my eyes.“Who now?”“Some random girl at university, thinking that being a vampire would be something wonderful.”“And how does that make you feel?” Eunhyuk crossed his legs and looked thoughtfully at me. I threw a pillow at him in response.“Don’t psycho-analyse me.”“No, seriously, what do you think?”“It’s frustrating, I just really want to turn around and tell these people what it’s really like. You know? I want to make them step into my shoes for a second and show them how it really is. It’s not some free eternal life, you have to be careful but no…people don’t get it and it just – urgh!” I rolled my eyes and dropped my head back against the sofa. It truly was a frustrating issue.“Is she cute though?” Eunhyuk asked randomly and I lifted my head to be sure I’d heard correctly.“Bwoh?”“The girl. The annoying one. Is she cute?” He smiled a monkey-like smile at me as I grinned to myself.“…Yeah,” My smile grew slightly. “Yeah, I guess she is.”“Ooooohhhh,” Eunhyuk waved his finger at me. “See, she can’t be that annoying then.” His gummy smile, if any possible, became larger and I threw my remaining cushion at him.“She’s still annoying.” I shrugged. “She doesn’t get the concept.”“Well, maybe you should tell her.”“What? No, as if I would do that.”“You need to find a companion soon.”“Yah!” My eyes widened in surprise. “You’re one to talk, you’re older than me.”“Not by much.”“Yeah, well it’s enough.”“Has she got any friends?”“Duhh, most people have friends.”“No no no, you misunderstand me.” Eunhyuk sat closer. “Does she have any good looking friends?”“Now, who’s looking for a companion?”“Just answer the question. Does she have any good looking friends I might like?”I leaned back and thought for a second. I hadn’t taken much notice as I strolled past that table, but I had managed to see each person.“There was one –”“Yeah?” Eunhyuk smiled again. I raised an eyebrow at him.“Eager?”“Continue, I wanna know. What did she look like?”“Black hair…uhmm, nice tan, shorter than you I think.”“Ahhh,” Eunhyuk looked thoughtful. “Nationality?”“Filipino?”“Nice.” He smiled happily as he stretched his arms. “You know what my friend; I believe that I need to refresh my educational memory.”“Oh and you suddenly just thought of that?” I asked sarcastically. “Why don’t you just peek into the future and see if you end up with her?” This was a fact that always confused me about Eunhyuk, he had the ability to see into a person’s past, present or future and yet he never used it on himself.“I’d rather not violate myself Hae.”“So you can violate others then?”“Of course, take Teukie hyung for example –”“Oh boy, here we go.” I shook my head.“No, this is really good,” Eunhyuk’s entire face lit up and I could tell he had discovered something worthwhile. “What if I told you that we could be friends with the soon-to-be ruler of Asia?”“I…I would say, who are you on about?”“Leeteuk hyung.” Eunhyuk sat back in his seat, a smug look on his face. “The Covenant has just decided to grant him power of every Asian coven that remains in the hope that he can finally unite them.”I sat up straight in my seat. “Serious? When will Leeteuk know about this?”“As soon as Dara returns from America with the documents.” Rain (Bi) POV- Covenant Headquarters, USA – I blended in easily with the guards outside the main conference room. My black Armani suit was spotless yet I smoothed it one last time as I stood in a far corner waiting for a Pi vampire by the name of Dara to exit the room. There had been a reason why I delayed my trip back to Korea, and it was a reason that would greatly please Heechul. My attention snapped toward Dara as she walked from the conference room with a smile, a manila folder tucked under her arm. As much as she would’ve wanted to blend in with the general public on her way back home, she would be quite noticeable I had to admit. Her short brown locks were curled around her face and her pale white skin stood out against her deep purple tunic top and skin tight black jeans. She cast a look around her before heading off in the direction of the lifts, her Gucci heels tapping loudly tapping on the ground. I casually strolled out from my hiding place and followed her quietly, my leather shoes making almost no noise. I trailed behind Dara slightly so she wouldn’t get suspicious about my path and watched as she repeatedly hit the button for the lift. As the doors started to close I sped up and slipped my hand between the doors, making it look as though I had been running late to catch the lift.Dara gave me a sceptical and suspicious look before turning her head slightly to face the other wall. I straightened my collar in a smug manner as the lift began to move downward. Slowly I loosened the cuffs of my jacket as I shot a quick glance at Dara. Taking an inward breath I wasted no time.Even as I flashed across the short space to grab the folder, Dara intercepted me, her fangs extended as she shoved me backward. I growled in response and pinned her against the wall, using the majority of my arm strength to hold her there. As I moved to paralyse her, she kicked out at me with her shoe and I snarled as I darted aside. Dara took advantage of my move and punched me forcefully in the nose to which I responded by slapping her face harshly.Never once did she let go of that darn folder. The lift beeped and the doors slid open. Dara quickly turned to face the outside wall and I knelt as though I were tying my shoe. The doors had barely closed before I turned to grab to Dara’s leg. She scraped her nails down the metal wall as I dragged her to the ground. She hissed as I trapped her legs under mine and I looked up to see that the folder was in the corner of the lift. I leaned over to reach it but Dara punched me in the stomach and my chin. I turned back to hit her but she grabbed my wrist. I then leant forward; placing my full weight above and pushing down, there was no way she could hold me back for long. Sure enough her wrist was already shaking and a few moments later, she slipped to the side. This was all the opportunity I needed.Using both of my hands I grabbed her neck and twisted it sharply to the side. Immediately she fell limp, and I exhaled in relief. After checking her pulse to make sure she was only paralysed, I scooped up the manila folder and climbed gracefully to my feet. The lift beeped again and I stepped casually over Dara’s unconscious body and walked from the lift, brushing my jacket of as I did so.The lift doors dinged and closed, hiding her body behind them. Uwahhhh~ The suspense begins already LOL. And so we have found out the cause of all the action of the story, how will things turn out after this? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see ^^. By the way, I apologise to any Yoona and Dara lovers here. I didn’t mean to choose Yoona deliberately, I actually did rock-paper-scissors between her, Tiffany and Jessica. And well, Dara was already in America so I used her, but never fear! She’s still alive.Comments, love, rotten fruit and criticisms are welcome! No silent readers, hello to any new readers!
