Completely opposite to what she had woken up to the day before, the girl felt Dongwoo's relaxed fingers on the flesh of her hipbone. The grey shirt she had worn yesterday had ridden up to expose a little bit of her skin there. Her head turned to the left to find Dongwoo's left cheek on the pillow, a small drop of drool stained the pillowcase. She tried her best to suppress her giggle as she turned to face the ceiling again. Unconsciously, she placed her own fingers in between the spaces of his fingers. In the quiet of the morning, she listened to his soft, rhythmic breathing. A smile appeared on her face when she noticed their breathing patterns were in sync. When she was lost in her quiet thoughts, it suddenly dawned on her that she did not remember ever taking the bus or being driven home the night before. Her hands blindly groped around the nightstand for her phone, but it wasn't there. Not only did furrows appear on her forehead, a sharp throb also began in her temples. She was unable to contain her groans and instead it escaped her mouth a little too loud for the sleeping boy to ignore. Dongwoo's eyes flew open. The first thing in his vision was his girlfriend looking as if she was in complete agony. "Babe?" He immediately shot up from the pillow and was hovering over her. "What's wrong?" The pain slowly subsided when she saw the reflection of her own pain on Dongwoo's face. Her arms reached out to pull him down to her; the distressed expression on his face suddenly gone. He buried a smile into the crook of her neck and dug his arms underneath her to hold her, too. "Hey, stop pulling me. I'm going to crush you." He laughed into her neck. She shook her head like a child and continued to hug him tighter. "Don't worry. I'm strong!" His laughter only grew louder, "Says the girl who was passed out when I had to pick her up from her friend's party." At this, she froze. Dongwoo had picked her up last night. That meant he had to have met the guy she had past with before she met Dongwoo, and knowing his strong hatred for Dongwoo, he must have told him. Her arms slacked, allowing Dongwoo to move back to her side. Yet, he stayed where he was. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, still holding onto her. "But what's there to tell?" Her reply didn't come off sardonic. She really had nothing important to mention to Dongwoo about her past with this guy. Dongwoo could feel the soft beating of her heart from the contact of their bodies and he counted them as they came. She knew that wouldn't be his last question; Dongwoo was naturally curious, even when it came to uncomfortable topics like this. "Why did you break up?" She turned her head to the side where Dongwoo still had his nose half-buried in the curve of her neck and it almost made her dizzy to look at Dongwoo at such a close range. "Do you really want to know?" Their noses grazed when he nodded his head. His arms were numb and heavy from keeping him suspended over her, which forced him to move back to her side. "One day a small group of guys came to my class. They were loud, rowdy, and girls with cameras kept following them around," She reached out to intertwine their hands again, "That day, I slept through my alarm, I burned my toast, I couldn't find the other pair to my shoe for the life of me, and the bus was running late so I had no choice but to sit at the very back of the room with these distracting people. "Clearly, I was having the worst day of my life. To top it off, the blonde guy from the group beside me leaned over to ask me for a pencil," Dongwoo smiled at the memory. "That did it for me. I turned to him with the meanest glare I could muster and hissed at him, 'You brought your fan club with you to school, yet you don't have a pencil?!'" The boy began laughing, remembering her angry expression that was directed towards him. "And I was so shocked and sorry because I didn't know that the reporters were being so distracting to this pretty girl sitting beside me, who only wanted to learn in peace, yet you still handed me a pencil, anyway. So, despite Infinite's practice session that ran past four in the morning prior to the next class, I had never looked forward to an 8AM class so much..." "... To sit down right next to me near the front of the class," She finished for him. "I slid the pencil you had lent me the previous class, still feeling guilty. You didn't even look at me until I cleared my throat. I thanked you for lending me the pencil and apologized for being so unprepared..." "... Then I just shrugged and went back to writing notes." Again, she completed his sentence. He stretched out his arms to wrap them around her waist, "Throughout the entire lecture all I kept thinking about was how I could strike up another conversation with you before the class ended. I had no idea what we learned in that class that day." She laughed. But the atmosphere soon turned serious when the question regarding the guy from the party still had him uneasy. "But I didn't know you had a boyfriend then?" She let out a deep sigh. "I didn't." Dongwoo's expression turned into confusion. "We weren't dating," She explained further. "We were at the stage before that? You know, when you're so close to going out because you go out on dates, you text each other everyday, and basically hang out with each other a lot..." Thoughts of Dongwoo and his ex texting and still meeting occasionally sprouted in her mind again. She tried her best to squish it down, returning her attention back to Dongwoo. "That's what we were. And then you came into the picture and I haven't looked back ever since." "Yeah, that's why you have drinking parties with him where you get so drunk you need someone to pick you up, right?" An offhanded scoff left Dongwoo's lips before he realized what he had just said out loud. Her glossy eyes were wide at his words. "I-I..." Dongwoo began, trying to save the conversation before it escalated into a fight. "You're really doing this?" She asked in a flat tone. "No! No, I'm not. I was-- It's just that--" She shook her head and got out of bed, too tired and hungover to fight. "Forget it." Dongwoo's heart began to beat faster as soon as she began walking away. He couldn't stand seeing her back turned towards him like that. There was a feeling of permanent departure to it. Calling out her name repeatedly, he, too, got out of bed to follow her. Silence was her reply even when they reached the kitchen. She stood on her tiptoes to reach for the painkillers on the top shelf before pouring herself a glass of water. "Babe, I'm sorry." Frowning, he reached out to trap her in his arms before she could walk away. "Are you sorry because you want me to keep meeting with him so you won't feel the guilt every time you meet with your ex, too?" She wasn't sure if her hostility was due to the throbbing pain in her temples that refused to go away or because Dongwoo had just berated her for doing the exact same thing he has been doing with his ex, except for much longer than she has. It was probably a mixture of both. "What? No! Why are you putting words in my mouth?!" At first Dongwoo was confused, and then he became annoyed at her accusations that he stepped back and let her go. "What is your problem? Are you jealous I've been meeting my ex every once in a while? There's nothing going on between us; we're just friends, you know that." "Then why are you acting so angry that I got drunk with my "ex" once when you've gone out with your ex countless of times this month already?" She countered and threw his words right back at him, "There's nothing going on between us." "Really?" He contested. "Well, you should tell him that, because men usually think differently." "Oh, they do, huh?" She raised her head at him. "You're saying they have ulterior motives when they hang out with girls that aren't their girlfriend?" Dongwoo rolled his eyes. "There you go again putting words in my mouth." "You're not denying it!" She yelled. "I'm so tired of being in competition with your ex for my boyfriend's attention." She confessed, tired of keeping it to herself for so long. "It's bad enough that I have to share you with all of your fans. I can't even sleep at night at peace anymore, unsure if you're really at practice or with her..." "If you can't get it that you're the only one I love, then I don't know what you want me to do!" Her eyes were glued to the floor as she shook her head in disbelief. "If this is how you treat the girl you love-- by hanging out with another girl, then I don't want you to love me anymore." "Are you telling me to stop seeing my ex? We were friends before we went out, do you realize that? I can't just cut someone out of my life just because our relationship didn't work out." He said, loudly, as if he was explaining something so simple to a child who couldn't understand. She wasn't believing what she was hearing. Dongwoo was defending her.  Finally, a tear rolled down her cheek. She let out a single, pathetic laugh. "Then maybe you'll actually give me more of your time after this because I'm breaking up with you, Dongwoo."A/N: Hey! Sorry, I know this is taking so long but this is not going where I had planned at all. Hate when my stories take a life of its own. Now I have to keep rearranging my thoughts. And if you couldn’t tell, this is obviously not ending at chapter three anymore.
