Miss Moon. (1/1)
November 18/Key “What? Classes today?””Um, yeah. So, can you come here today?”“Maybe. I’ll try. Just jot down some notes then teach me if I can’t. Is that okay with you?”“Aw. Okay,”“Good. Bye now, HyunMi-ya,”“Ne, Kibum-ah annyeong,” I sniffed the air of an autumnal Seoul morning. For some reason, I felt excited for the day, especially because HyunMi called me first thing in the morning. The day went on with my schedules, I had a talk-show guesting, a guest on KTR, and everything else. Now, the ‘classes’ HyunMi and I were talking about a while ago is a part of our three-month visual arts training. A little recap of what Mr Kwan said, during the three months, we will be taught to enhance our arts skills and for those that have a knack for it already, an enhancement. It’s been going on for a while now. There are classes that the painters are the only students, and us, the artists, also have our own class, teaching us blending, light and shade, the basics, scaling, how to use different mediums, et cetera. There are also classes that the artists and painters are fused. And you know what I like about it? HYUNMI AND I ARE SEATMATES!!! Contrary to my thoughts, though, HyunMi is silent in class. Classes pass with her ignoring me; she rests her cheek lazily on one hand and her other hand holding a pencil on the paper and never stops scribbling something on it. She writes like, every time. Even before and after class. It annoys me greatly, because she doesn’t even bother to glance at my direction during class, not even a “Kibum-ah, you understand what Prof Voure is saying?” She’s a hundred percent aloof during class and it pisses me off. Why, HyunMi? Why?One time, when I got really curious about what she actually writes about in class, I peeked in her notebook. Aha. So this is why she doesn’t talk to me. HER SLATE IS FULL OF DOODLES! Well at least HyunMi’s the reason why I’m enjoying this. HyunMi’s mind I glanced at the desk beside me. I sighed. “Missing him?” a wild Lee Kikwang appeared as I looked up. “Shut up,”He plopped himself on his chair beside me. “What’s wrong?”“I just feel tired.” I replied coolly. Just in time, professor Voure came in.“Good afternoon kids,” he greeted. Professor Voure is a French artist who is friends with Mr Kwan. Goodness knows how he got here in Korea, but I must say he speaks our language well. “So,” he placed his books on the desk. “What was our topic last time?”“Mixed media, sir,” So Eul-unnie answered.“Oh, right.” He adjusted his glasses. “Mixed media’s pretty, isn’t it?”“Well I’m prettier,” I mumbled to myself, looking down and writing on my paper. They laughed.I glanced at the people behind me, and they were all looking at me. “What?”“You were saying something, Miss Moon?” I came face-to-face with Professor Voure’s big tummy when I turned.“I…uh… did I say that out too loud? Er, I mean, nothing sir!”Prof arched his brow at me and we went on with our lesson.During his two hours of class I wasn’t really able to concentrate. I kept glancing on the empty seat beside me, thinking of what that guy would be doing as of the moment. He said he’ll try to come, but now, obviously, he wasn’t able to. “So kids, have you thought of what you’re going to do? Remember you’re going to pass a project next week. You, Miss Choi, have you and your partner thought of anything?” Prof eyed Yu Na who was at the back part of the room. “Well, sir…” Yu Na slowly stood up. “We were thinking of wood and ink. But that would still lack of course,” Prof nodded his head. “That would be nice, Miss Choi, but you’ll need more than that,” He clapped his hands, then, “Okay, class dismissed! We’ll see each other again next week; do your best alright?” and with that, the whole class went out of the lecture-room. I was fixing my things when he called me. “You, Miss Moon, what have you and your partner thought of?”I put my pencil in the bag. “We still haven’t agreed upon this sir, but I’ve been thinking of broken mirror pieces and wax,”“Since when did you have this idea?”“Just two days ago, sir,” I replied blankly.“I’ll be looking forward for that,” Prof cleared his throat. “What has been keeping you from telling this to Key?”“He’s busy,” I turned to the vacant space beside me.“You know, Miss Moon, I have something to tell you,”I kept my face emotionless. “Yes sir?”“You and Key. You’re my favorite pair,”“Oh? How so?” my face suddenly warmed up.“You look cute together,”I rolled my eyes. “Thank you, sir,” I thanked sarcastically.“Miss Moon, you live in Los Angeles right?”“Yes sir.”“When are you coming back?”This sent an uncomfortable feeling to my stomach. “Soon,” I tucked my notebook in my bag, and swung the latter over my shoulder. “As soon as this is over, sir,”“Hmm. But what about him?”“Who?” I looked at sir, baffled. He pointed something with his index finger, and as I followed its direction it was pointing the empty desk beside mine.“He’ll live, sir. It’s not like I’m his life-air or anything that he’ll die if I leave,” I said in one breath, suddenly angered, but quickly followed it up with a laugh so as not to be rude.“He will, but… Miss Moon, we have a problem with that,”“I don’t see any solution sir, therefore it’s not a problem.” I replied nonchalantly.“How bold we are, Miss Moon,” he said in a deeper voice.“I…I’m sorry, sir.”“It’s alright; now off you go. Tell Key of what your mixed media is going to be. Do your best,”“Yes, sir. Thank you,” I bowed, and went out of the room. To sum up, the day has been dreary and I have been feeling like I am not in the mood to do anything. Kibum and I have not seen each other for the passed two days. I just sit on the lobby couch to kill boredom, not even bothering to bonk Kikwang-oppa when he’s annoying me. I am absolutely emotionless as of the moment. “HyunMi-ssi?” the door slid open and it was Miss Lee. “Someone is…looking for you,” she said in a tired and worried voice. Guess I’m not the only one that’s not in the mood today, huh.“Who?” I asked without any interest.“The visitor said I should keep its anonymity. Should I just let it come in instead?” I nodded. Behold, another joke by Kim Kibum. But my eyes turned wide as the ‘visitor’ entered. “Please come in,” Miss Lee ushered the visitor in.The girl who seldom changes her expression winked at me as she said, “Sup, lil’ sis?”. November 19/Key “And you? Where are you slinking off to again?” Manager-hyung frowned at me as I wore my backpack.“Why, hyung, to the mansion of course!” I said in my diva tone.He sighed. “Okayyyy, just get home early, alright?”“Yes, sir!” I saluted him and exited. After three days, I’ll finally be able to see HyunMi again. My tight schedule has been keeping me from seeing her.
