Board Game. (1/1)

Key’s mind“Key-ssi, will you join us?” So Eul-noona invited as we got down the stairs.“What’re you guys doing?” HyunMi asked them.“Snakes-and-ladders,” Gikwang-hyung answered. “I stumbled upon this while I was in the attic. Didn’t know ahjusshi liked playing such,” he chuckled. “Kinda weird, actually. This is kind of foreign,”“Oh,cool! Let me in!” HyunMi cheered, and trotted down the stairs like a kid. I followed her.“Very well, then. But we’re going to do it by pair.” Noona put the pillows on the floor. “We have these three ribbons; the ones who will hold the ends of the same one will be partners.” Seongjin stated and presented the said trifles. We flocked around him. To my surprise I suddenly had the urge to be paired up with HyunMi.“Let go; one, two, three!”The other end of the ribbon I was holding was held by So Eul-noona.“HyunMi-ssi!” Gikwang-hyung cheered and spread his arms wide as if to hug her.“You again?” HyunMi snorted. We all laughed. HyunMi once told me that one of hyung’s favorite pass-time is bugging her. How he does it, though, she would never tell.We settled around the table. Seongjin was with Changmin-hyung, me with So Eul-noona, and HyunMi with Gikwang-hyung. As if it wasn’t obvious. Papers were passed around, and each of them had questions printed on it.“This is a, let’s just say, more modified version of this game. If you can’t answer the question, you’ll have to roll the dice and whatever number shows up, that’ll be the number of steps you’re taking back. And, oh, by the way, answer a question first before you roll the die.” Noona announced.I caught HyunMi’s eye, and she was telepathically telling me you’re going down. I just rolled my eyes at her.“The one who’ll have the biggest number will take the first turn.” Seongjin said, rolled the dice, and got 6. We all laughed.“Me next,” I took the dice and rolled it. I got 4.“My turn!” Gikwang-hyung announced, and was about to roll the dice when HyunMi halted, “wait! I’m gonna do it!”“But—““Lalalala~ I’m gonna do it~” HyunMi crossed her eyes and stuck her tongue out at him. We all laughed. In the middle of the laughter Noona whispered to me, “She’s a bit like you,”“Really?” I laughed. I thought I was the only one noticing.HyunMi rolled the die and got 1. “See? Haipaipu!” she bragged, and then took a high-five with hyung. “Roll the dice, hyung,” Seongjin told Changmin-hyung.“Question first!” Noona said, and turned to Hyunmi.“What, me? Oh, okay.” She referred to the paper, and after a few arguments with Gikwang-hyung she asked, “5 multiplied by 12 is?”“Easy! Sixty,” Seongjin answered. As expected from the badass nerdy boy. Changmin-hyung rolled the die and got 4. To our immense relief, they passed the ladder. “Our turn,” Noona said. “Give us a question, Seongjin,”“That one,” Changmin-hyung said, pointing the paper.“Oh. What do you call Super Junior’s fanclub?”“that’s easy! ELF!” I answered.“Meaning?”“Ever Lasting Friends,” Noona answered calmly. She rolled the die and got 1. “Oops,” she said.“My turn! My turn!” HyunMi cheered and did a little dancing in her seat.“You’re really into this, aren’t you?” Gikwang-turned to her. HyunMi nodded. Obviously, HyunMi can be quite childish.“I’ll give the question!” I declared. “What’s another term for SHINee’s song, ‘Replay’?”“ ‘Noona Neomu Yeppeo’,” HyunMi answered, then flipped her curly brown locks. She rolled the die and got 3. They moved three spaces, then climbed up the ladder. They were already on number 16. “That was too easy,” she laughed.“Aww~” we groaned.“You’re good at this!” Gikwang-hyung praised, and HyunMi just shrugged her shoulders with a proud smile. Fifteen minutes passed, and we were still playing.Changmin-hyung and Seongjin’s piece was on 31, and ours was on 40.It was HyunMi and Gikwang-hyung’s turn. They were on number 29. I gave them the question.“ ‘La Pieta’ was what kind of artwork?”Hyung shrugged. “Mollayo. You, Hyunmi-ssi?”She smiled. “It’s a sculpture,”“By who?” I asked tauntingly.“Shut up that’s not in the question,” she growled. Hyung rolled the die and they got 6.Their eyes went big when they saw that there was a snake on number 35.“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” they both moaned. HyunMi ruffled her hair in frustration. Neither of them wanted to move their piece. I stood up, and moved their piece for them. “One, two, three, four, five, six! Ouch! The snake bit me! OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO~” I laughed out loud. All of us were laughing except for the two who couldn’t stop bawling.  “How many nose does a slug have?” HyunMi asked.“I don’t know; ten?” Noona guessed.“You Kibum?”“I don’t know. how am I supposed to know?”“Roll the dice!” she clapped. “The answer is 4!”“Aish,” I hissed. Noona rolled the dice and got 1. I laughed, and tongued-out on Hyunmi. She just made a face at me. Another 30 minutes passed and the game was done with. So Eul-noona and I were first place and HyunMi and Gikwang-hyung were last. During the whole game I had the crazy notion inside me which really pissed me off. I kept looking at HyunMi and wished that I take hyung’s place. Like seriously it was so distracting I kept pushing the thought away violently. We climed up to our room after dinner. She was cleaning the mess on the table and I was doing something with her iPad. And oh, if I have not mentioned, I once had a bad, really bad experience with this thing. She smacked me on the head with this once it’s a miracle my skull didn’t break. HyunMi’s a brute, I tell you.“I think you’re ready,” I intoned, out of the blue, with my  back on her.“What?”“To visit our dorm,”I heard clap her hands several times and squealed. “Yeeee! Are you all free?”“On your visit? Yeah, except for me.” I replied, and a pillow hit my head. “YA!”“Aww, Kibum!!! Don’t do this to me!!!” she whined.“What’s wrong with you? You’ve been seeing me for almost a month—““—Aww, but I can’t go  without you!”I spun my head to her direction. “Beg,”She went beside the couch and knelt. “Almighty Key, will you come with me?” she beseeched with puppy eyes.“That won’t work.”She stood up and patted her knees. “What do you want?”“Do some aegyo.”She snorted, stood up, and went to her closet to get something. She came back wearing a bunny hat. “Hiii~ I’m Hyunmi! Do you want to play?” she said in a falsetto voice, and her clenched fists on her puffed cheeks.“Ew.”“WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?” she yelled.“You have poor aegyo.” I said without lookingShe stopped.I turned and poked her forehead. “Fine. But only if you do as I say, and be yourself when you’re with those guys.”“The second thing. I’m not used to hiding what I am. Just so you know,” she smiled.“I know.” I smiled back, and we were looking at each other for a moment when she suddenly burst out—“Aww, thank you so much Almighty Kibum! You’re an angel sent from heaven!” she threw her arms around my neck and rubbed her cheeks against my hair several times. My cheeks are getting ticklish again. What the hell is this? She let go before I could point out what it was.“You just ruined my hair,” I frowned as I fixed my bangs back in place.“Kekekeke,” she laughed, rubbing the back of her head. “Mianhae~” she cooed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------finally. the next chapters won't be as dragging as before.
