Chapter 3: First Kiss (1/1)
The next day, Hyeri tried her best to avoid L.Joe at all cost. She even skipped lunch and went as far as hiding in the girls toilet until lunch time was over. Or not. She didn't even last 10 minutes inside the toilet when she decided to go out. She didn't know where the hell did she got the courage of confessing boldly towards the guy that she was into for years. And she even spoke as if she was sure that what L.Joe felt for her was a genuine feeling like she felt for him. What was going to happen to both of them now that she had wrecked the friendship that she had always wished for? The last bell rang indicating school time was finally over. Hyeri snapped from her thoughts and lifelessly packed her things. Now that she had successfully made things awkward with L.Joe, she doubt that she would be able to see him even from afar. And L.Joe was always the reason for her to smile each day. Even worse, Suzy was not even around to give her comfort. She heaved out a loud sigh and exited her class. “I haven't seen you all day. Where have you been?” Hyeri looked up to see L.Joe waiting for her outside her class and she stiffened. “Were you avoiding me? You didn't even went up to the rooftop.” He continued. Option number 1: Run. Option number 2: Act like nothing had happened. Option number 3: Ignore him and walk away. As always, her heart betrayed her mind. Instead of doing any of the options that she had considered, she decided to tell him the truth. “I spent the day with Seungho.” And she wasn't even kidding. All day, Seungho had tried to approach her each time he saw Hyeri. Maybe he was even some kind of a stalker the fact that he knew Hyeri went straight to the toilet when the lunch bell rang. Even waited for her to come out. L.Joe's face turned into a frown as he furiously ruffled his hair. “I'm going to Japan for a tour. I won't be back for a month at least.” Hyeri's heart clenched at the thought of not seeing him for the whole month. “Why are you telling me this?” “Just... please don't go around hanging out with different guys while I'm away.” He uttered and looked away. “Just how many times should I tell you that I am not that kind of woman? Seungho was the first guy aside from you that is trying to approach me!” She retorted feeling displeased. “And we don't even have anything to do with each other for you to say those kind of things to me.” Hyeri blinked her eyes a few times as she felt frustrated enough with L.Joe to the point that she wanted to cry. She didn't even knew why she bothered explaining the situation to a guy that had nothing to do with her. They were merely friends and nothing more. “I hate it okay? I hate it when other guys tried to court you. You may not see it but I saw it every time how other guys in this school looked at you the way I did. But you barely talk to them and most of them were afraid to be rejected and only that Yoo Seungho was brave enough to confess. I was lucky enough that you turned him down but hearing that you rather spent the day with him when you knew I would be at the rooftop, I don't think I'm that lucky anymore.” His gaze softened as he looked at her. “What do you mean by them looking at me the way you did...?” Hyeri asked and cocked her head to the side in curiosity. “I like you.” He said. “I like you. Didn't you tell me yesterday that you like me too? So from now on you're mine. I won't let any other guy take you away from me.” Confidence radiated from L.Joe and Hyeri imagined there was an imaginary halo behind him the moment he confessed. Even though Hyeri was quite appalled by his confession, instead of accepting it like normal girls would do, Hyeri kicked his knee hard and L.Joe immediately yelped in pain. “Is that how you're going to be in a relationship with me? Saying that I'm yours and not even asking if I wanted to or not? You might be an idol that girls fawn at, but I am not an easy girl.” She flashed a glare at L.Joe and crossed her arms. L.Joe straightened himself before smiling at her remarks. He affectionately ruffled her hair but Hyeri stubbornly swatted his hands away from her head. “Pch. You didn't even confessed properly yesterday, so what do you expect?” He retorted with a smirk on his face. “Arasso. Then I'll ask you properly. Will you be my girl?” He once again flashed her the signature smirk and leaned closer until their foreheads were connected with each other. “What's your answer?” “If-if you keep... keep doing this to-to m-me, I am going to faint for real.” She stuttered and clearly felt her heart beating faster than it had ever been. Being so close to L.Joe made her heart fluttered in excitement and he didn't even bother to pull back when he knew how flustered she was. “Just give me an answer... Please.” He pleaded in a teasing way -even jutted his lower lips out- making Hyeri blushed harder. “If so... is 'I do' considered to be an ans-answer?” She murmured suddenly feeling shy. L.Joe caught her faint voice and grinned happily before pulling back and cupping her cheeks. “Now you're officially mine okay? You agree to it yourself. You're my girl.” He proclaimed and landed a peck on her lips stunning her. L.Joe pulled back to see her gaping at him and chuckled at her reaction before once again cupping her cheeks and landed a proper kiss on her lips. The first kiss that Kim Hyeri will remember forever.
