Half of my Heart pt.1 (1/1)

Kim Taeyeon was at her last year in college when she met her. It was not one of those usual meetings where one spilled some coffee on the other or that they just happened to bump into each other and took a chance. Nope. Nuh-uh. Taeyeon was on her way to the subway, humming a happy tune, when someone suddenly grabbed her and kissed her right in the mouth.It took her a few seconds to realize what was actually happening and when it hit her she push that person away with all her might. Her eyes widened the next second when she saw the person who kissed her is of the same gender. She was about to slapped the woman when she felt something slipped in her coat’s pocket. She looked at the woman and saw fear, anxiety and remorse in her eyes. All thoughts of slapping the other ceased to stop as she saw that gaze. Taeyeon opened her mouth to say something but was abruptly stopped when she felt a kiss on her cheek and heard a faint whisper,"Please." Said the woman before walking away.Taeyeon remained rooted in that spot for a couple of seconds, utterly puzzled about what just happened. She glanced at her watch and upon seeing the time, made a run towards her station. She has an exam in about half an hour so she willed herself to forget what just occurred a few minutes ago. By the time she arrived in the lecture hall it was five minutes before the exam will start. She sat at her spot and softly banged her head into the table."Hey, you're supposed to be here fifteen minutes ago." Asked a girl who dragged a chair to sit beside her. "Did something happened?"Taeyeon groaned. "Believe me, you don't wanna know.""Now that makes it more interesting." Said the other girl in response who leaned closer."Sunny, not now please. I need to get my head straight if I wanna passed this friggin' exam." Taeyeon lifted her head up to look at her friend."Fine. You owe me an explanation." Sunny turned towards the front just as was the professor entered the room.The exam lasted for about two hours and it made Taeyeon momentarily forget the event that morning. She had no other classes for the rest of the day so she decided to wait for Sunny for the other girl still has one class to attend to before lunch. She sat at one of the benches near Sunny's building and watched the other students walked by. She then remembered something and put her hand inside her pocket. She took the object out and saw that it was a necklace with a half-heart shaped pendant and in the center of it, a symbol that somewhat resembles a key.Never thought my first kiss would be a stolen one. And from a woman too! She sighed.I wonder what's happened to her. She looked so vulnerable and so fragile. Her thoughts were cut short when the necklace was suddenly swooped from her hands."What's this? It's pretty. Who gave it to you?" Asked Sunny, eyes scrutinizing the said jewel.Taeyeon then told Sunny what happened that morning. After Taeyeon finished talking, Sunny remained silent; still contemplating what to say of the whole scenario while looking at the necklace. When she opened her mouth to respond, it was not the reply Taeyeon hoped it to be.“Sooo, how was the kiss?” Sunny asked cheekily with a big grin on her face.“What the- yah! Lee Soonkyu! What are you insinuating?!” Taeyeon pointed her index finger towards Sunny, slightly flabbergasted of the question her friend just asked.“What? I’m just asking. It is your first kiss after all. Regardless if it was a woman who kissed you.”“Sigh. I don’t know. It happened so quickly so I don’t really remember what it felt like. All I can remember is that look on her face after she kissed me. I feel sorry for her though I don’t exactly know why.” Taeyeon said in response while brushing her fingers through her hair.“So what now? What are you going to do with that necklace? Are you gonna sell it?” Sunny asked as she placed the jewel back in Taeyeon’s hands.“I honestly don’t know. I’ll think of something later. Now let’s go get lunch. I’m hungry!” Taeyeon stood up while stuffing the necklace back in her pocket. After lunch, they bid each other goodbye and Taeyeon wandered back to her apartment. She opened the door to see her roommate munching on junk food, eyes concentrated on the television.“Hey, no class?” Asked Taeyeon while taking off her shoes.“Hey, uhm not really. Didn’t hear the alarm clock go off and by the time I woke up it was already 10 minutes late for my first class so I decided not to attend.” Her roommate grinned. “Want some?” She offered Taeyeon the snack in her hand.“No thanks. Had lunch with Sunny so I’m still full.” She went to the kitchen to fetch herself a glass of water.“O-kay!” Shouted the other, eyes still glued to the television. It was her favorite show after all.“That show again? Are you not tired of watching it? All those guys in suits looked boring.” Said Taeyeon as she sat beside the girl, eyebrows furrowed as she watched the scene.“Ha ha. It’s not boring okay. Look at him, he looks dashing in that!” The girl shrieked in delight as she pointed towards the man in the television.“Whatever Sica. I’m going upstairs to my room. Knock if you need something, okay?” Taeyeon stood up and looked at the other girl.“Hmm.” Sica hummed in response. Still lost in her own world and eyes still glued to the screen. The one she deemed her ideal man is on the scene she’s watching. Sigh. Harvey. My man.Taeyeon chuckled and shook her head. She then slowly made her way towards her room. Once inside, she flopped on her bed and took out the necklace again. She stared at it and her thoughts went back to the girl who kissed her this morning.Why did she say please? Did she want me to do something for her? Is it somehow related to this necklace, is that why she gave it to me? Is she in danger or something? Too many questions in her mind right now and it’s making her head ache. She closed her eyes and succumbed herself to sleep.   a/n:Hey guys.
