“Please? Why can’t you just love me?!”Those were the last words you heard from the asshole of an ex. You were finally putting that foot down and shoving him out of your life“You’re mine, _____!” The asshole chased and you ran further and further, to the ends of the world if you had to.He wouldn’t let up at all, so when you finally got a breathing moment from his phone call.“Fine! Fuck you! I’ll let you deal with reality on your own!” Thinking that you needed him, insulting enough but you were just fine without him controlling your days for his benefit. You lost most of your friends in the process and were ready to find your own feet again. It’s been a week since he last messaged you and you felt the breath come easy. You had no where to go but back home to the villa your parents raised you in. Of course, they being well off without you in the Hamptons with their beach side service, they left you with the villa in Seoul and it just wasn’t what you were expecting at the age of nineteen. But here you were, still nineteen and living in this damn place, this dreadful place. But you didn’t want to go back to that life with that man who seemed to fetch you now and again. This time, you promised, he’d never get you back. You were going to move on……by doing so, you called Mari, your best friend up. It’d been a month or so since you’ve had any contact with her.“Mari?”“Jesus, _______, I thought you were dead!” Her voice was like a spotlight of heaven, showing you your freedom.“Nah, I’m still here. Finally done with that son of a bitch.” You responded and shrugged the dark brown sweater on to your shoulders. “Want to go out?”Mari was taken back a bit by your sudden recovery of getting out but hesitantly agreed in the end.And here you were, sitting down in a coffee shop before the clubs, getting some caffeine into your systems for the long party night.“Are you sure you’re ready to bounce back?” Mari questioned and looked around at the coffee shop.“What are you spouting about now?” You pouted and held her free hand. “Come on, you knew what he was like! I can’t go back to that, so let me find one-night stands or something convenient?”Sighing again, Mari grasped your fingers. “Alright…but be safe, ‘kay?”“Obviously, Mari! I’m not going out there to find a baby daddy, shit.” You sat back and watched her laugh at your teasing profile.“Funny, but I ain’t becoming an aunt, got it?”“You’re not even my sis-…”“Got it?” She sternly put her foot down.“Yes, Ma’am.” You responded and left that conversation for later.Tonight was about you hooking up and getting out and away from your past. When Mari led you past the bouncers at the front, you admitted that she had been doing some work on her reputation while you were busy being sheltered from life. You giggled as the bass of the music rocked through your feet for the first in a long time. Feeling the sudden realization that this was going to be good, you bounced a bit as Mari got the drinks.Finding a spot, Mari and you eyed the place for certain types of gentlemen and listened as she named off a few to you.“There’s J.Y.P. with his little entourage as usual.” You turned over your shoulder and watched the man tease around his womanly entourage and laughed as if they thought he was funny. “He’s always got some ladies to handle.”“I see.” Shaking your head, definitely not a one-night stander. Mari knew and glanced a bit around and pointed to the side, a kid on the dancefloor.“This guy, hot as hell but also works under J.Y.P. as Woo-Young. Nice abs and great dancer as well…!” She was bragging as if she wanted him in her bed, so you shook your head.“Nah, go get ‘em tiger.” You cheered and she rolled her eyes with a blushing smile, indicating your theory was true. But there was another guy that caught your eye, sitting directly behind Mari at the bar and laughing with a couple of friends. “How about him?”She followed your line of sight and hiccupped a bit after sipping her drink while looking. “Are you nuts? That’s Xiumin!” She spoke pretty loud and you hushed her instantaneously.“So let’s announce that we’re looking at him?” You shook your head again and sat back. “What’s wrong with him?”Mari pursed her lips. “One of SMEntertainment’s most unavailable, cute and all around screamer, Baozi ‘Xiumin.’”“Xiumin…” You slowly pronounced and frowned. “…he’s not Korean?”“Oh no, he is but he goes by Xiumin. His stage name, but his real name is Kim Minseok.” She sipped her drink and shook her head. “He’s the troublemaker of the group, EXO –M.”“Really?” You raised your eyebrows a bit, but this didn’t throw you off the scent yet, maybe he was a bad boy but that didn’t mean he wasn’t easy to get along with. Seeing as you watched him laugh to another man and showed the cutest dimples. “He’s kind of…cute?”“Why do you go for the bad boy types?” Slamming her drinks down, “This was what tonight was for was to get you away from the bad boys.”“No, tonight was to get me away from that asshole and find someone new.” You shifted off your seat and took a big swig of the alcoholic drink. Confidence was thriving the moment you started walking towards him with a nice sway of your hips. You didn’t want to approach him directly so indirectly you moved to his side, casually ordering a strongest drink you knew. And to be honest, you weren’t much of a drinking professor and only ordered what you thought was the strongest. Which was: “Whiskey on the ice please?”“On the ice?” The bartender questioned and spotted your fault, just as Xiumin turned to see who it that was behind him.“Uh…no.” Your confidence dropped really low as Xiumin eyed you with a strange expression. Oh god, you were blushing at your own stupidity. “Just whiskey, sorry. I’m mixing up my drinks!” Nice recover! You thought and turned away to stare around the scene, ignoring Xiumin’s takes of you.A drink slid to your hand with the golden-glow liquid that you were expected to down, right? Biting your bottom lip, Xiumin finally leaned in and took a breath. “Whiskey on ice, huh?”You swallowed a bit of the warm alcohol and shuddered internally as it heated its way down your esophagus. “Uh…” Coughing a bit to the after taste, you licked your lips and nodded. “Just mixing up some of the drink I have sometimes…”“Uh, huh.” He smirked a bit and leaned his elbow back on bar itself and peered out on to the dance floor. “So what’s your name?”“It’s Lee ________.” You replied and watch him nod a bit. “What’s yours?”“You already know what it is.” He announced and grin a bit more. “Your friend is quite knowledgeable about who I am.”Flushing more, you turned your head away hiding the color on your cheeks. “Ah…”“That and I heard my name.”You smiled and looked away, sipping the warm-liquid that was whiskey. “All over this music?”Shrugging a bit, he nodded. “I guess you could say I have super-sensitive hearing and can hear long distances.”“Like a cat?”He chuckled and nodded. “Yeah I guess you could say that.”You giggled a bit and looked out through the crowd. A smile was finally on your face that was actually genuine for the first in the long time.Xiumin leaned over and nodded. “Yah, what are you so happy about?”“I just left a boyfriend after four years.” You admitted and shrugged.Xiumin’s eyes lit up a bit in curiosity. “Really?”“Yeah, don’t want to talk about it. I’m over it and him.” You smiled more and sipped down your whiskey, finishing and setting it back on the bar for the bartender.Xiumin chuckled and shook his head. “You want to get out of here?” It shocked you that he didn’t push you for your life story. Nor did you want him to pity you, so it felt good that he asked you to get out of this hectic place that was blaring music that you weren’t interested in.You passed Mari and waved and she flashed her cell phone at you and mouthed words: “Text me!”You gave her the thumbs up and followed Xiumin outside into the crowded streets. There, he caught your hand and led you past the crowds that were begging to get into the club.Turning the corner, he led you down an alley where there was a slim limo waiting for him…and you…“I can’t just get into a car with a stranger.” You argued, knowing that this wasn’t going to lead anywhere safe.“But then again a stranger is a person who doesn’t know your name. But I know yours, so I’m not a stranger.” He quirked a smirk and opened the farthest door in the back and gestured you in.“I’ve been living with a man who’s controlled everything I’ve done for four years, what makes you think I want to get into a limo with you?” Crossing your arms and he rolled his eyes.“Then ask yourself this…why did you follow me out if you weren’t going to tag along?” And he gestured again for you to enter the limo.Fuck…He had a point and you threw down surrender and slid into the backseat, ready for his next attack.Xiumin slid in beside you and shut the door behind him and tapped the roof to let the driver know that we were strapped in and ready to go.Looking around the limo, you were surprised by the leg room you had and stretched your fair legs the distance and rolled your neck.“I know, it’s a bit cramped but…don’t need to make an example of it.” Xiumin pouted and smirked again.Rolling your eyes, “The only thing that is cramp is my lifestyle and I’m ready to stretch for freedom.”“You got it…” He smiled and that’s when you felt his hand rested on your own. You felt that blush come back and you turned your head out to the window to watch the lights go past. “…you wanted to be free and now I’m going to show you what freedom is all about.” His right hand slipped around your front and caught your waist, pulling him towards you as his lips grazed up your exposed shoulder and neck.A window tap interrupted your hypnotizer and he looked up from your neck to the figure standing outside. It was something obviously important and rolled his window down. There, stood a man, dressed in some not-so-fine rags and cracked his knuckles.“Can I help you tonight?” Xiumin cooed and looked around the car.The man rolled his neck and grimaced. “Step out of the car or my boys will shoot your driver and pretty lady here and now.”Xiumin chuckled and shook his head. “Alright.”“What’s so funny?” The man called out and stepped back. Yeah…what was so funny about you getting shot?!Xiumin sighed and waited as the man stepped forward to open the door. He took the opportunity to shove the door open into the man’s nose, knocking the ragged man back onto his ass. Xiumin then disappeared out the car door and watched around you as sudden ice fogged the windows, keeping you from seeing anything that was going on outside. Why was ice forming so fast?!You heard the men cocking their triggers and heard the sounds of gunfire around the car. You slid down under the seats fast as they started to fire bullet holes into the windows. Holding your head, you felt a rush of adrenaline and leaned up to peer out of a hole to see Xiumin shove forward and knock a man in the face with his hand. But then the man froze and fell out of view, Xiumin continuing his attack on the attackers. After a few moments, you glanced up to the front and saw the driver check the rear-view mirrors and nodded. With that, Xiumin slid back into the cab with you and tapped the roof after shutting the door. You slid back up into the seat and fixed yourself, watching the lights past through the bullet holes.“What happened back there?” You ask, scooting further away from Xiumin. He shrugged, “Just some guys that wanted some money.”“And?”“And what? I just gave them a beating to know their place.”But what about the ice? You thought and watched as the ice itself was melting and sliding off the car.Xiumin shook his head and scooted near you and caught your waist again. “You wanted to live, Hun. Let’s go then.”Giving your thoughts a rest, you didn’t want to know what he was made of and let yourself go into his hypnotizing hold. There, you melted with each touch and know that he’d melt you further, as if you were his own snowflake to melt.
