Chapter 1/ Jiyeon Darling (1/2)
I was gazing into the lightly frosted window of TIFFANY & CO. daydreaming of Diamonds and gold earrings. I knew I shouldn’t have been walking in the Upper East Side streets of Manhattan, New York with the intentions of breaking the bank; this never goes well for me. I wrapped my unprofessionally handmade scarf tighter around my neck to keep warmer from the cold before moving swiftly light-footed in the direction of the nearest, and very familiar Starbucks; I needed a Hot Cocoa now.

I Stepped inside the Starbucks near 1642 3rd Avenue between 91st & 92st. It being busy this time of day, I Looked for a table to sit in; I spotted a booth by the store’s window in the corner. Perfect. I saw that I had caught Jessica, one of the Starbuck employee’s attention. I signaled to her for the usual. She gave me a quick wink and began preparing my usual. I felt my new iphone4s vibrate in the pocket of my tight black ripped skinny jeans. Of course it was a text message from Jiyeon.
I’m Bored and Lonely. ≧０≦

Jiyeon being bored & lonely meant she could only be out on a shopping spree being “bored” and “lonely” with her American Express credit card. I pouted at my text response.

As I sent the text message, I felt a light tap on my right shoulder; looking up I was met with the eyes of Jessica with a cup of Hot Cocoa, smiling as bright as her blonde hair.
“Thank you, Jessica.” She handed me my order and gave me another smile.
“You’re the only exception, Taeyeon.”

“So I started at JIMMY CHOO; got myself a pair of lattice style knee high boots, then stopped by NEW YORK & COMPANY and found the perfect trench coat style with felt fabric, in chic double-breasted silhouette with a wide belt for the winter season. OMG, they were having a sale at BARNEY! I got the prettiest Cashmere Knit Scarf in white and two Berets’.”
“Jiyeon, you don’t even wear Berets’.”
“Well I do now.” She mumbled and started fiddling with her phone.
