The Mystery Guy (1/1)
I woke up with the sound of the door being kicked outside; I barely manage to close my eyes. I open the door abruptly ready to pounce on anyone who purposely ruined my sleep but then I remember that this happened before and I hit my head. Without thinking I step forward; push the door back then BAM! The door hit the side of my head. Erik stared for a few second and laugh. I sat at the floor holding my head, why does shit always happen to me?! I was in a hurry… neither the step mother nor the step sisters woke me up for school, well I never really expect them to care. I was juggling my things, school bag to school shoes; ah … this kind of suck. I am trying my best to stop being a delinquent; attend class like a normal girl would, on the dot and smelling good, and yet I just took a bath and already all sweaty. I cannot find the other pair of my socks and Erik keeps shouting the time outside. Someday, I will really kill that moron. Erik was in shock when I got out, pushing the old man’s bike. He literally let go of his mountain bike that he was holding and ran toward my red motor bike. I didn’t get the chance to tell Erik about it and the surprise look on his face made me realize I made the right choice. I was not able to stop myself from laughing as his eyes pop out of its socket, at least that is what it looks to me. His nostril was flaring… I was about to laugh my ass off when I saw his drool about to drop on top of my bikes seat. I high kicked him to his senses. Erik fell on his butt, I was standing over him with both my hand on my waist like superman. I was looking down on him “how dare you peasant?” I said imitating the sound of Zeus. I was rushing through the traffic with the old man’s bike. Erik was beg-crying me to give him a ride so I just punch him and run away. I still find his startled face funny, haha. I was deep in my thoughts when I feel a murderous aura creeping on my back. I check the side mirror and there was Erik paddling like a demon. That jerk usually is weak but there are time that his stamina would seem to combust and explode… like today. I am already going beyond the speed limit and yet, it looks like that damn mongrel can overtake me any minute. I would have confronted him head on but then for some reason I am rushing to get to school on time. ME? I turned left on an alley hoping that I will be able to lose that bastard somehow. It was a wrong move after all. There were tons of people that are running around and, going fast would mean I will need to hit some people on the way, I better remove the plate on my bike. I stop and got off the motorbike thinking I need to remove the plate, just in case I hit someone, a true criminal mind. I look back and there is no sign of Erik, I sigh in relief. I was ready to leave when I hear a siren coming closer and for a moment there my heart stop. I am not sure why, but it feels like that time… before I knew it, I turned around and ran back. I got out of the alley and saw masses of people crowding over something. I feel like heaven have dawn up on me. I rush through the crowd as fast as my heart beat, my eyes focused on what lies ahead. I froze when I saw Erik’s bike all crushed under a wheel. For some reason, the murmuring sound abruptly stop and the people disappears one by one from my sight. In a second, I was engulfed by darkness. The only thing I can see is Erik’s laughter and then that damn bike all crushed along the road. The funny thing is … while my consciousness is trapped inside the darkness all I can do is think, think about whether I should cry. Should I? I should… right. Should I scream? There is this itchy feeling inside my chest maybe if I shout loud enough I can scare it out off me. Out of that darkness I suddenly felt something holding my shoulder, shaking me. The darkness starts to lighten up. When I stared hard enough of what is in front of me, I can see Erik’s face. I blink a couple of times in disbelief, and then Erik decided to help me out of my ‘comma’ slapped me with full force. My entire face turned 90 degrees on the left; I thought my neck was going to snap. I was still trying to touch base with reality when I saw something drop on the ground. It was my blood … Blood was dripping out of my nose because I was hit on the face. Erik hit me! I abruptly turned my face front. It is Erik! He was still staring at me with that worried look on his face, what a mongrel?! I thought. ‘How dare you hit me!’ I exclaimed and kicked him in the knee. He almost fall down but he manage to maintain his balance and was about to hit me back, I am not sure why he stop his fist in midair. Is it because I didn’t block? Then I felt some water dripping down my cheeks. I looked up to see … is it raining? Erik grabbed my face with both hands forcing me to look at him. I struggled for a while when I realize that the water on my cheeks came from my eyes. I am not sure what is wrong with my eyes, but it wouldn’t shut off. Tears keep falling one after the other. Erik was just looking at me trying to help me dry my tears, I was getting annoyed. People are already making such funny noises like they are seeing some couples being lovey dovey. I was going to put a stop to it but someone beat me to it. ‘Excuse me’, a man in chauffer suit snuck in between me and Erik ‘We will be compensating for your bike and if there is any injury, please send us the medical bills’. I snap out of Eriks hold and I furiously demand that they take responsibility for everything. The man in chauffer suit looked at me, confused. Grrrr… this man is looking at me like I am some idiot. I kick the car in front of me and made a fuss about how they are looking down on people. Erik was trying to stop me, but my mouth is faster than my brain. Like hell, no one can stop me from trash talking. I calmed down after I threw a freaking rock the size of my head toward the windshield. After hearing the sound of glass breaking, I suddenly recall everything the chauffer said like a flash replay…. Ahhhh is all I can mutter. Erik and the chauffer person were both dumbfounded while I was just dumb. I was staring at the damage I cause and wonder whether I can afford to pay for it. Then I remember my bike… what the hell? I left it in the alley. Wahhhhhh! I suddenly screamed, I remember leaving the key there too and I even took out the plate … I ran toward the alley wailing thinking of the horrible thing that could happen to my bike. The window on the backseat opened as if curious what the hell is going on. He was willing to take responsibility even if it was the other guys fault and then he saw this girl throwing a rock in his window and then just running away. 'Oh! its you!' Erik exclaimed, realizing who the guy in the passenger seat was. The guy just squinted his eyes wondering who this person calling him 'you' is.
