His phone rang and he answered it, despite Hyosung’s voice still droning on about status and power. He knew who it was right away. “Hello?”  “Sebastian?” Her voice on the other end said.  “Hana? What are you doing?” He asked her. He could tell something was wrong just from the tone of her voice. There was a lot of background noise wherever she was, he could barely hear her voice through the phone speaker. “I don’t know, Sebastian. What am I doing? What is wrong with me?” Hana asked him. “Why am I not good enough?”  Jihoon stood up with a start, scaring Hyosung in the chair. “What are you doing, Cassandra?” He said, reverting to her old name. "I don't know. It probably won't kill me, will it?" She said, her voice teetering at the end of her statement. Jihoon rushed out of the cafe, throwing whatever bill on the table to pay for his tab. He got into his car and never looked back, he didn't even know if Hyosung was behind him. She watched as he fled the cafe, he was jumping out of his skin to go somewhere. She knew he was talking to Hana. What was he doing? Hana wasn't Yoonji, he never did this for Yoonji. Every time she convinced him to separate the couple, he always did so calmly. But this, he was afraid, she could tell he was afraid, or worried or was that the same feeling? But Hana was doing something stupid and he wasn't about to let that happen. Hyosung sighed, this was it, she could tell, that was her last chance at getting Nathaniel back to her, and he ran away.  Why, why did no one listen to her when she told them to? Why did no one respect the social order?  She got into her own car and followed after Jihoon who was speeding and weaving between lanes on the street.  "Where are you, Cassandra?" He asked her, shouting at his Bluetooth. He was still a responsible being with the panic all over his face.  "I don't know, somewhere, there's water though. I know that if I jumped, it wouldn't kill me." She told him. "After all, we're immortal, aren't we?”  “Stop it. Why are you being like this?” He asked her, “You are fine, why do you think you have to do this?”  “Because Madeleine’s right.” Hana replied, “She said that I’m yelling at her about status, but here I am, going crazy.” She said. “What are you even talking about?” Jihoon sped faster, there was only one place Hana would go if there was water. Only one place high enough where a fall could possibly kill her if she wasn’t immortal. He couldn’t believe Madeleine pushed Cassandra this far, how could that girl just insult someone to this point? What on earth had happened? He drove until he saw her in the distance, she was sitting on the edge of the railing looking over the river. He pulled over to the shoulder, left his hazard lights on and jumped out. “Cassandra!” He shouted at her.  She looked at him in shock, dropping her phone below her. It was gone, but she still sat on the edge just staring at him. “What are you doing here?” She asked him. He walked over to her, lifting her off the railing easily. She didn’t even fight him, which didn’t surprise him. He knew she just wanted the attention from someone, but he didn’t mind. “What are you doing here?” He asked back.  “I probably wouldn’t die anyway.” She replied, looking over at the water again. Suddenly, she was being squeezed in his embrace and she froze in shock.  “Don’t be stupid, you can’t just think about disappearing and throwing it all away.” Jihoon told her. “Why not?” She muttered, “Madeleine got Nathaniel. She doesn’t care about status anymore.”  “You are stupid, why do you care about what she says?” Jihoon said, “Care about yourself, like at least care half as much as I do.”  Hana pulled away from him, “What?” She said, he looked at her and sighed.  “Madeleine might be right this time. Status shouldn’t matter, love matters.” Jihoon said. “What are you even talking about? You’ve been in love with Madeleine for forever.” Hana argued. “How can you not care about her being with Nathaniel?”  Jihoon shrugged, “I don’t know. But if you’re going to be unhappy, it bothers me more than Madeleine being with him.” He said. Hana blinked twice as she comprehended his words, “You care about me?” She asked. “I care a lot about you, Cassie.” He told her. “A lot. More than I should, more than I have ever admitted before. And, I know you care about me too.”  He cupped her cheek, leaning down to kiss her and she didn’t pull away, Hana leaned into him as he trapped her between his hard body and the railing. She opened her mouth to him and she felt happy, something she hadn’t felt in a long time. “Sebastian.” She said, pulling away long enough to talk. “Yes.” He replied a smirk on his face. This was different, real even. “If you’re gonna say what I think it is, then love you too.” He said, leaning down to kiss her again.  He pulled away long enough to notice that the others had passed, seeing his car parked on the bridge and grew curious. He saw Madeleine and Nathaniel holding hands and he reached for Cassandra’s hand as well. “Long time no see.” Jihoon greeted them. He saw the glow on Yoonji’s face, what Jieun had described to him. He figured he probably had the same thing right now. “Yeah, so I guess you didn’t actually like me then.” Yoonji replied to him. “A lot can change after so many years.” He countered. “Nothing’s changed.” Himchan snuck in slyly. Bang hit his shoulder and they all just laughed. “So I guess, this is as close as we’re gonna get to Heaven.” Hana interjected. “Happiness while immortal." “Well, it was hard to suffer for so long, wasn’t it?” Hyorin said. “Party at the A?” Jihoon offered. “No thanks, I just want a nice, quiet place with booze.” Zico said, frowning. They all laughed, walking in the general direction of their cars. ~ She watched as her best friend got the man that she had spent ages thinking about. She always had a hunch that Cassandra loved Sebastian more than she ever let on. But he was a nobody and her friends were only allowed to date “somebody’s.”  She hung her head low as she realized that no one listened to her, everyone just did what they wanted. They didn’t want their appropriate counterparts, they didn’t believe in her adherence to the social order. They didn’t care. She sighed to herself, now she was let with nothing but a body that would never age and would never die. This was going to be a miserable existence, but at least she was hot. She turned and saw that the others were all gathering together to talk in their little couple-ness that she was now excluded from. “I can give you another chance.” A voice from behind her said. It belonged to a person that she hadn’t seen in centuries, but she could recognize it anywhere. “And where would that be, Daniel?” She said, turning around to see the angel leaning casually against the bridge railing.  “Heaven.” He answered simply. “Your one last chance to heaven.”  Hyosung looked at him suspiciously, “What does that mean? How can I have one more chance?” She said. “You said yourself that we had given up that right long ago.”  “You have recognized your sin though, you were selfish, envious and you coveted something that wasn’t yours.” Daniel jeered as Hyosung flinched at the pointedness of his words. “And, if I have realized that I did that? I’m given another chance?” Hyosung countered, “Is it really that simple?”  Daniel shrugged his shoulders, “Do you want to live your life in misery? It’ll be an immortal meaningless existence. I have been told you are to be given the chance to reclaim a spot in heaven in exchange for your immortality.” He explained to her.  “So you can kill me?” She asked, surmising enough from what he said. At that moment, there was an evil glint in his eye. “I can do anything, I’m an angel.” he said confidently. “So what’s your decision?” He asked her.  “Deal.” She said without hesitation. She walked towards him but he held his hand out to stop her. “Not so fast, there’s one more thing you have to do.” Daniel told her, he pointed towards the group gathered in the middle of the bridge on the moonlit night. “You have to apologize.”  “What?” She said loudly. “Why?”  Daniel shrugged again, “That’s what it is, take it or leave it. Apologize and I’ll bring you back to heaven instantly.” He said. Hyosung groaned. “Fine.” She walked over to the group and they all looked at her in shock. “I’m sorry.” She said, sounding as sincere as she could. She was still sad over not having anyone, but she was sorry doing what she did. “It’s okay.” Madeleine replied in a daze. After all this time, it took her this long to apologize.  “I won’t be seeing you guys anymore. I’m sure there will be an interesting story. But I’m sorry if I hurt any of you guys, and I’m glad you were my friend for a moment, Cassandra.” Hyosung said, waving goodbye and heading back to the shadows. Daniel immediately took her with him, extinguishing the endless flame in her heart. Himchan squeezed Yoonji and she wrapped her arms around his neck, “Well that was interesting.” He told her. “Yeah, I didn’t think she had it in her.” Yoonji said. “But I’m glad we can have this time together.” She smiled at him. “Now until forever.” He replied, pecking her lips. Any more and the others would throw a fit.  “And ever and ever.”  Author's Note;;
