21. Turning Point (1/1)
He sat around, work done a long time ago, he tapped his phone in his hand. He had been debating over what to say for the past 5 minutes. But he also knew that she was busy, she probably had a work shift. She probably wouldn't see it until she was done. He knew that she would probably be stuck there for a while. He texted her anyway, Hey can you come by the apartment after you're done? And then after that he would just wait. He cleaned up the place, got a pint of rum raisin ice cream and an extra toothbrush. He wanted her to stay until her next night shift, if that was even possible. He wanted her to stay longer actually, but he didn’t know if she would be okay with that. Himchan waited around somewhere, his slacks dragging on the hardwood floor and his dress shirt untucked and lazily buttoned. He heard his phone go off and he rushed to grab it immediately. Heh. I’m outside. The text said and he grinned widely, opening the door to find his smiling girl on the other side. “Good morning.” She greeted jokingly. He saw her waitress uniform haphazardly taken apart for comfort after the shift was over. She walked inside and he closed the door behind her, she headed towards the living room. “Good morning.” He replied, playfully pushing his weight on her so she was pinned between him and the wall. He leaned down for a kiss and she met him halfway by standing on her tiptoes. He flicked his tongue along her lip and she opened to him, their tongues rolled over each other and she fell back on her heels, unable to keep her legs from buckling at the passion of his kiss. When he pulled away, he had a smirk on his face when he saw her eyes were glazed over. “Still can’t handle my kiss?” He teased, kissing her cheek. He moved them towards his couch, his arms around her waist as they walked with him behind her. He sat them down, with her on his lap and she smiled, “It’s been a while since we’ve kissed everyday you know. Besides, you know how much I enjoyed kissing you before.” Yoonji said, shifting herself slightly so she could be more comfortable. “So how was work today? Did you wait all by yourself again today?” Himchan asked her, he twirled a strand of her hand around his finger and lightly ran his fingers through her hair. She closed her eyes as the movement relaxed her, she was lucky that there were no knots in her hair or else it would hurt. “Yeah, by myself. Yumi was intoxicated again. She should really stop hanging out with Aya, but Aya’s our boss.” She leaned into him and smiled, “But it’s okay now.” “You know, you can stay as long as you want.” He told her, stroking her hair gently. “I have space.” Yoonji frowned slightly, but he couldn’t see it. “Let’s just get through today, I can stay until I have work tomorrow. But we should wait and see, she always finds you and you know it.” She told him. “Don’t worry about her. She can’t do anything this time, I won’t let her.” Himchan assured her, “You’re mine, Madeleine. Always have been. Always will.” “You’re too good for me, Nathaniel. I’m not as good as you.” She said. “You’re wrong. You’re the one who’s too good for me, Madeleine.” Himchan pressed a kiss in her hair and held her while flipping through random channels on the television. ~ He called them to his usual cafe and the girl gave him a warm smile, leaving his usual caramel macchiato on his table for him while he waited. He was about to scold them for their wild behavior the other night, it was outrageous, never had he had to deal with them like that before. He hated it, they were a bunch of brats, on top of that, Hyosung was weird, Hana was the usual. But he didn’t like taking care of them, he didn’t like taking care of anyone when they were drunk. But at least Hana was sober, she was just tired of following Hyosung all night. The bell on the cafe door sounded and he knew that they had arrived. They moved to sit across from him at his table and he glared at them. “You two are incredibly difficult.” He said, starting the conversation harshly. “I’m sorry, Jihoon. It’s my fault, I should have known better.” Hana said, starting to apologize immediately for the trouble. Hyosung kept her mouth shut, sitting in a huff with a frown on her face. Hana nudged her angrily and Hyosung bowed her head just slightly. “Thanks.” She muttered. Hana glared at her and rolled her eyes, “I know it was a lot of trouble.” She told him. Jihoon smiled at her, “It was.” He said jokingly. He couldn’t be too mad at her, since she knew what she had to apologize for. “A girl had to help me get you guys into the jjimjilbang, but you guys really suck.” “I know, I’m very sorry.” Hana repeated again, “I would like to thank and apologize to the girl that helped you as well.” Jihoon shook his head, “Don’t worry about it. There’s a pressing matter at hand. When you guys were being… Interesting, I tried to call your boyfriends and get them to come and pick you up. Neither of them answered.” He said pointedly, “Is something going on?” He was mainly referring to Hyosung since he already knew about Hana. Hana looked to Hyosung and back to Jihoon, she was well aware what he was implying, she could always read his mind after all. Hyosung pursed her lips and simply kept quiet, she wasn’t about to share the misfortunes of her love life to him. “Nothing, he was probably working late so he was busy.” Hyosung lied smoothly. “At 3AM?” Jihoon retorted back, he shook his head, “Fine whatever. Just so you know I won’t get you guys in any more clubs for a week. You guys are on probation, it was embarrassing having VIP guests like you ruin the place.” Hyosung started to object when Hana hit her arm hard, “Understood, thank you Jihoon. I’ll see you later.” Hana said, dragging Hyosung out of the cafe and waving goodbye with a smile. “Bye bye.” He said, taking out his phone and continuing to do business while finishing his coffee. ~ He knew he just had to follow her, he knew she would have another date with that imbecile, he clearly thought that she was his girlfriend. This was going to go bad so fast, he hopped into his car and waited outside her apartment. He saw the black car of that guy drive off, and he followed suit. He noticed the direction they were heading and he turned a corner to get there first. When he got there, he noticed no one else was in the restaurant. "Good evening, what would you like?” The bartender asked him. He grinned, he couldn’t bother with alcohol today since he needed to be alert. “Can I just have soda?” He replied. The bartender nodded and filled a glass with ice and used the soda fountain gun to put coke in his cup. “Thank you.” He said and then he waited. He couldn’t believe that she was coming to a place like this, she hated raw fish, she always had. She hated it more now that they didn’t need food and now she was going to have to pretend to like it for this pity date. He seriously needed her to come to her senses and dump this guy. He wasn’t going to let her fool a crazy man. He noticed them walk in and he kept his body small so that she wouldn’t be able to see his side profile and know it was him. But all of his senses were on alert, that self-preservation instinct was up, she was on alert about him, which made him alert about her. It was stupid how his body automatically made anyone into a threat. He wasn’t going to do anything to her and she wasn’t going to kill him, but somehow his senses thought that would happen. He waited for them to order and he continued to keep his back to them, overhearing their conversation. She was so sweet to him and he kinda hated it, he hated the fake version of her that she put out for other people. She didn’t need it, he liked her and that was enough. She should just be herself. He felt his phone ring in his pocket and checked to see if she was calling him for a rescue and she wasn’t. He frowned, no one else would have his number but Bang so who could it possibly be at this time? Bang was working at the club tonight for bragging rights. He answered it on the third ring, “Hello.” “Hello, Zico.” A female voice greeted him back. “What a surprise, Mina.” He replied. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” “If things are different now, then you have to help him.” Mina said plainly. Zico kept his voice just above a whisper, if she wasn’t paying attention then she wouldn’t hear him. “So Bang told you then?” He replied. He also tried to keep his side profile out of view from her table. Mina ignored his question and stated, “You have to get him to talk to Nathaniel.” She sounded like she was watching television at home. Zico sighed, this was something he already knew, he was trying, “I know, they have to reconcile just as much as everyone has to be with their true loves.” He told her. “I’ve been trying to tell him but he’s stubborn.” She said, “He won’t listen to me even though I know he misses Nathaniel.” “Maybe we should wait at least. I have a feeling about this one, they’ll reconcile when Nathaniel and Madeleine get back together.” Zico sighed again, the bartender refilled his coke as he drank it dry from his nerves with talking to Mina about a problem he couldn’t fix at that second. “How do you know those two are getting back together?” He could practically hear the disbelief on her face, she didn’t know anything about that it seemed. But he could tell something was going on. Zico replied to her, “They have to. Or else we can’t be happy. They’re the ones who started this whole mess anyway.” Mina sighed this time, “Fine, I’ll leave it to you.” “Good. Now I have something else to do. I’m busy figuring out my own love problem. See you, Mina.” He said, hanging up on her before she could get another word in. He loved her, she was the best person to get advice from and she was chill with him kicking it with Bang. But he was busy, Mr. Lee seemed to be getting frisky and he wasn’t about to let anything happen. She stayed perfectly still, until Mr. Lee tried to feed her some of the fish they had been served. Zico could see the disgust on her face as she pretended it was okay. He overheard Mr. Lee keep pressing about being her only one. She kept lying to him, but the story kept changing slightly. He was a crazy human and he noticed, Zico could tell. Mr. Lee was about to take matters in his own hands and it would happen soon. At least Zico would be there to stop it. Author's Note;;
