12. Feelings (1/1)
Zico dropped Hyorin off at home, before heading back to his own apartment that night. He had the worst feeling about this, it would be difficult and people would interfere. And not only that, but he had a feeling that it wasn’t just about Nathaniel and Madeleine. The prophetess had said, people have to be honest with each other, people have to be true to themselves. That included him. It had to. He was constantly lying about where his love was, he knew that he no longer loved Cassandra, not like how he had before. He had not realized that she was the way that she was, until later, much later. Until it was too late to get out of it, until it was too late for him to go back. He sighed to himself, if anyone was going to be the first one to turn the tables. It was going to be him. It had to be him, no one else would be gutsy enough to leave someone they could spend their immortal life with. At least William and Diana were set. The only reason why they got dragged into this mess was because of him. Nathaniel and William were best friends, and yet, they hardly talked now. He was seeing more of William than Nathaniel ever did since the Change. But that only renewed his resolve, William and Diana were set in terms of love, but they still had to be honest with their friendships. Zico had to be honest about his romantic feelings and he was going to start now. He opened the door to the apartment and he saw her heels casually thrown to the side. She was drunk again before her night out. It was a freakin’ miracle, it was immensely difficult for them to get drunk, as what they were. And yet his ever-so-lovely girlfriend was always able to get drunk every time she went out. The amount of alcohol in her system was enough to make him want to puke. Sure enough, he found her on the couch, drifting in and out of consciousness. He sighed, grabbing a bottle of water for her from the fridge and putting it on the table in front of her. “Sober up. We have to talk.” He told her. “What is there to talk about?” She asked him, grabbing the water and taking a swig. She gulped it down and kept her eyes open long enough to make him believe she was coherent. She had been lying there for a while and her thoughts weren’t as jumbled as they used to be. Zico turned to her with a serious look on his face, “I think we should separate.” He said. simply. Hana’s jaw dropped in an instant, “What.” She sat straight up and looked at him in shock, “You’re just joking." He frowned, “I’m not. I seriously think we should separate.” He repeated, emphasizing his words clearly, while looking at her. “Why are you bringing this up? Is it cuz I party too much?” Hana asked him, “I can stop.” She offered, there was no way that Benjamin could break up with her like this. They had forever to be together, and she wasn’t going to be alone. What would the others think? Her status and his status were perfect. “It has nothing to do with that. You know that we aren’t the same anymore. We aren’t what we used to be anymore. And I think we should separate. There’s no way we can be together, especially since we tried everything. So I’ll move out all my stuff by the end of the week, you can keep the apartment.” He told her, standing up. “That’s all I wanted to say.” He left the room and didn’t bother giving her a chance to speak. Hana watched him leave in shock, there was no way he was serious. He couldn’t seriously mean it that he wanted to leave her. How would that even be possible. He would be alone forever, no one wanted that. But then again, Benjamin never had any problems being alone.. She shook her head furiously, no this was a dream. She decided on that and went back to sleep on the couch, she would wake up tomorrow and this would all be fine. ~ Hyorin walked into her apartment and saw that she had a message waiting for her. It wasn’t a surprise when she heard Mr. Lee’s voice on her voicemail. “If you could kindly join me for some dinner tonight, Miss Hyorin. I would love to have some company today.” He asked politely. Hyorin frowned as the message ended, he was polite, but there was something about him. She had a feeling that this could go terrible if she let it. But her boss would never set her up with anyone crazy, they all had to pass background checks. Unless he just didn’t have any records of being clingy, because he definitely sounded like the clingy type from what she could tell. But it didn’t matter, she had a few hours to relax before getting ready to go to dinner with him. He would be picking her up and she would just follow wherever he wanted to go. She decided to just lie in bed for the next few hours while taking up her personal cell phone. He made her promise to text him when she got in the apartment. He always wanted to make sure she got home safe, but she didn’t want to interfere with his life too much. He was always too far, just as Nathaniel had been for Madeleine. But Katherine knew she couldn’t focus on herself at all. She had to support Madeleine, the girl was rather fragile at first, but then she blossomed into a beautiful young woman in no time. But that didn’t change the fact that she was in love with the most wanted guy in the world. Hyorin sighed to herself, it wouldn’t hurt to keep the promise. He had a private phone just like she did for cases like this. Hey, I got into my apartment. Is everything okay for you? She texted him. Within a minute, she got a reply, Yeah, I cleared something up, but it’s all good now. You be safe tonight, I know your day off is over, so don’t do anything reckless. Hyorin sighed again, he always did this. She hated it but loved it, but still hated it. She hated how it made her feel, but she loved it because he cared, and still hated it because he was with her. The girl who would never understand him, the girl who would never know his most private secrets, the girl who didn’t care enough to be with him. But if it wasn’t for that girl, then he would have never realized how easy it was to talk to Hyorin, how easy it was to spend time with her, how easy doing anything was with her. And Hyorin couldn’t blame that girl for that. She got settled in and composed a reply, You know everything, but I will be careful. I’m a big girl, I can take care of myself. You ought to worry about Hana. She replied back to him, now she had to decide what she was going to about Mr. Lee. He obviously wanted the company of a woman in his bed tonight. And she knew he liked red, but she wasn’t really feeling in the mood to wear red tonight. She preferred wearing black if anything, she got started by drawing her bath and waiting for the hot water to fill. Her phone dinged and she checked it, seeing that it was Zico she opened the message, She won’t be a problem for me anymore. He said simply and Hyorin frowned. What was that supposed to mean? But she didn’t have time to thoroughly ponder it, she climbed into her bath and started to prep herself for the night. She had to be clean and smell good in all the right places. Then she would get paid more and maybe then she would figure out what was off about Mr. Lee. There was something bothering her deep down and she just couldn’t pinpoint what. She decided on black undergarments and a black dress, she added red lips on top just to keep him happy. By the time, she finished getting everything on for the night, it was time for him to pick her up. She went downstairs and saw his car waiting, she looked around to make sure no one was watching and climbed into the passenger seat quietly. As soon as the door closed, she felt a hand on her cheek and Mr. Lee’s lips crushed against hers. She fell into the kiss accordingly, but she finally realized what was wrong with this man. When he pulled away, he wiped the lipstick off his lips and smirked, “I missed you.” Mr. Lee told her. She gave him the best smile she could in that situation, “It’s only been a week, darling. You’re the one with the busy schedule after all.” She casually reminded him. “I know. But now I have you to myself again.” He said proudly, he reached across her and buckled up her seatbelt. “Okay, so dinner is going to be a surprise okay?” He said, taking her hand in his and intertwining their fingers. “Okay.” Hyorin said lightly. She kept the frown off her face and smiled. This was what bothered her about him, he was possessive and clingy and therefore a bad client. But it was too late now, he was already too far gone.
