There Wont Be Trumpets (1/2)

"I can't believe you guys, you actually thought I would do something like that?!" Kai yelled. There was a hint of playfulness in his serious tone.

"You left us no choice! We didn't want to take any chances with you. We only did because we care about you." Chanyeol replied, trying to calm Kai down.

Kai had called Chanyeol and the boys over as soon as he saw the sticky note on the knife block. Kai wasn't exactly angry, more rather he was just confused.. and also happy in a way. At least he knew he had some good friends looking out for him.

"It's okay guys, thanks for having my back at least. It was only dangerous objects after all, it's not like you took my school ties or anything." The trio exchanged worried looks, their mouths stretching horizontally into a smirk. Kai caught their expressions. "Oh my God, you're actually not being serious, are you?!"

"Hey, like Chanyeol said! Only 'cause we care about you!" Baekhyun playfully hugged Kai, resting his ear on Kai's shoulder.

"If this is a bad time, I can go if you want, Kai." Luhan interrupts, quietly sipping at his tea while the four boys squabble in the kitchen.

"No, don't! Actually, this is a good time for you to meet my friends. Guys, this is Luhan. Luhan, this is Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Sehun." Kai says, moving his hands accordingly to each face and name. "Luhan is the neurologist who is taking care of Kyungsoo.""Wow, neurologist? How old are you exactly? You look about our age." Chanyeol says.

"I hear that I look young a lot, but I just turned 25 last month (24 in non-korean age)."

"The hell?! You're a neuro-surgeon at 25?!" Sehun exclaimed in disbelief.

"Yeah. I got into Harvard at 11 years old, and there I studied Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry. Not long after that, I proceeded to do my bachelors and masters degree then earned my PhD, and now here I am with my practice. Nothing special really." Luhan smiles as he rubs his nape. He has a very modest nature and doesn't like to brag about his achievements."Nothing special, hey? Easy for you to say Mr. Dr!" Baekhyun jokes.

"Hey, don't talk to me like that, I'm your hyung, you know!"

"Don't worry, you know we're just joking." Baekhyun and Luhan share a brief smile.

Then out of nowhere, Sehun interrupts. "So, Luhan.. Are you single?" Kai, Chanyeol and Baekhyun glare at him, in disbelief that he's already trying to shack up with a guy he just met. But it was Sehun after all.Luhan laughs and puts his mug to his mouth. "Yes I am. Lucky you, right?"
