“Happy Birthday to you, baby only for you~” you’re phone alarm rang, to wake you up.You smacked your hand around in search of your phone as you sat up tiredly.  You rubbed your eyes as you clicked at your phone to turn the alarm off. You saw a bunch of birthday messages sent to you wishing you a happy day and good health. You smiled; it was finally your birthday. You scrolled through the messages; thinking of replying to them later, when you saw a message that stood out to you the most.“Haappy 18thBirthday day my bby~ ♥ ♥ ♥ it’s too bad that we don’t get to take you out today and spoil you with girl time!! :(( Buut we’ll see you at the party tonight!! Oh and have fun~  ;3 –Your weirdos ♥”“Have fun? What?” You said to yourself in confusion.‘What am I suppose to do now?’ ‘What do you mean? You aren’t gonna keep me company before the party?’ so many thoughts ran through your head while you walked towards the bathroom. You did your business in the bathroom washed yourself and walked out the bathroom with a towel over your head.“Muuuuuuum, I’m hungry!!” You whined as you walked into the kitchen blindly, the towel covering your eyes.You heard a low chuckle instead of your mom’s warm voice, and jumped from the fridge. You turned around and saw the man that you’ve been in love with for years, your best friend, Youngmin.You let out a loud breath, and placed the towel on one of the chairs and walked towards him.“You scared me!” you yelled at him and playfully started smacking him.“Ow, ow, oww. I’m sorry baaby” he cried out, “Forgive me?” he asked with his arm stretched out, and a pout on his face.You blushed at the nickname he gave you, and gave him a quick hug. You pulled away even though you wanted to hug him a little longer.  “Only because of how cute you look right now.” You said, and stood on your toes to pinch his cheek.He laughed and pushed to the table and sat you down on the chair.  He then went to the oven and took out two chocolate chip muffins. He placed them on two separate plates and placed on in front of you.“Here you go, one for the birthday girl and one for me!” He claimed and sat down in front you of you with a smile.He started singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to you, and you were speechless. You knew Youngmin could sing, but the last time you heard him sing was when you and your friends went to a norabong, and Youngmin was a bit tipsy when he was singing.Youngmin finished the song and pushed the muffin closer to you, with a certain glow in his eyes.Again, you were speechless and surprised. You stared down at the muffin; did he really bake this? Was this muffin really for you? You looked around and saw washed bowls and utensils drying on the rack. You let a soft smile and look back the muffin.“Don’t worry, I didn’t poison eat” Youngmin chuckled and took a bite out his muffin.You laughed too and took a bite out of the muffin. You looked up at him in surprise, it tasted really good.“This muffin actually tastes really good! You made it?” You said to him in surprise.He nodded and shared a shy dazzling smile. You felt yourself falling for him a little more.“Thank you” you said gratefully.He shook his head and waved his hand as if saying, ‘no big deal’, or ‘no problem’.The two of you finished the muffin and decided to watch one of your favourite dramas. Youngmin came into your room with a bowl of popcorn and sat down on your bed.“Isn’t it too early for popcorn” you asked, and looked towards the clock. It read: 10:30am.“Naah. It’s your birthday today so who cares? Now come here” Youngmin stated, and gestured you to come over.You stood at your desk with your laptop on the video for your drama, and looked at him. He smiled up at you placed the bowl on the side then patted his lap. The two of you did this often and you are best friends, but you couldn’t help but blush whenever he let you sit on his lap. You brought the laptop over with you and sat down on the bed. He wrapped his arms around you and dragged you towards him. You relaxed against him and started the drama.Throughout the movie, it seemed like luck was on your side, you hands kept touching his whenever you went to reach for popcorn.It was around 11:30am when you heard Youngmin’s stomach growl. You turned around and looked into his eyes while giggling. He nudged you head, and placed you and the laptop to the side.“Get ready! I’m talking you out for lunch and then were gonna go on a date!” Youngmin sang out, and walked out the door, closing it on his way out.“Don’t wear something too fancy! I don’t want to punch some faces” Youngmin joked lightly. (But little did you know that he was being serious)You scoffed at what he said, and walked to wards your closet.‘Hmm, what shall I wear today? Nothing to fancy…he said a date right?’ you thought to yourself, you could feel the blood rushing towards your cheeks.You searched through your closet and checked the weather on your phone. It said it was going to be warm today even though it was autumn.You pondered over the options of what to wear, in the end; you decided to wear dark blue shorts and a light pink top with fake pearls decorating the top along with your backpack.  You walked out of your room and saw Youngmin had also changed. He was now wearing a white- v neck with a back-grey sweater like cardigan on top with black skinny jeans, and some nice shoes.You put on your sneaker heels, and the two of you left the house to Youngmin’s car. He opened the car door for you like a gentlemen and closed the door after. Then off the two of you were off for lunch.You both arrived in front of one of your favourite Japanese restaurants. You gave him a strong hug and bounced your way towards the entrance. He opened the door for you again, and when you found a table to sit he pulled out the chair for you.“You can order whatever you like. It’s all on me” Youngmin insisted.You let out a smile again. You had the best friend ever.Friend. Your smile dropped a little at that, and Youngmin saw it instantly.  He reached over the table in poked you head. You looked up, and he was giving you an extremely cute face. You could see how awkward it was for him to do so, and you laughed, and brushed away the thought. You were glad that you had a relationship with him.You both ordered lunch, and had lots of fun, by just eating.“I’m serious, everyone’s mad at each other in the drama!” You insisted to Youngmin, as the two of you walked out of the restaurant.Youngmin just laughed and led you to his car. He opened the door once again, and closed it after you. He then walked to his side of the car, and started it.“So where are we going next?” You questioned.“It’s a surprise!” Youngmin replied back. He smiled at you.You kept on questioning him during the ride, but he just wouldn’t budge. Eventually you decided to give up and look out the window. A few minutes had passed after you gave up when you saw the large Ferris wheel in the distance.“No way” you whispered shocked.“Yes way, Happy Birthdaay baaby~ Since you never got to go to an amusement park in all your 18 years, I think it is my duty to bring you one, and make sure you have fun!” Youngmin explained.As Youngmin got closer to the park you got more excited. The two of you got to the parking lot, found a spot and got out of the car. You tackled Youngmin with a hug. He simply smiled and messed your hair up. You looked at him with fake annoyance, since he messed with your hair, but secretly you were okay with it.Youngmin paid for the tickets and the two of you set of in your journey for rides.You looked all around you; there were so many rides to try out. You slowly started walking away from Youngmin as you were looking around.Youngmin noticed that you had disappeared and panicked. He frantically looked around for you small stature, and found you at a  balloon shooting booth with lots of plushies hanging around. He laughed; of course he’d find you there.Youngmin walked towards you, and saw that you were looking at a frog with a crown atop of its head.“Boo” Youngmin croaked.You jumped in surprise and turned around to see Youngmin laughing.“Yaah” you yelled and smacked his arm, whist glaring at him.He laughed and kissed towards you and passed a ticket to the employee.“Which one do you want?” Youngmin questioned you, looking at all the plushies hanging around.You looked back at the frog, but it was a big one, and you didn’t want Youngmin to waste a ticket if he didn’t manage to get it. So you looked towards the small toys and saw a cute bunny, and pointed towards it.“That one” you insisted when he gave you a ‘really’ look.Youngmin looked back to the employee and asked, “How many balloons to I have to pop to get the frog with the crown on it?”You were about to protest, but the employee spoke before you could get a word out.“Pop half the balloons in one minute, and you’ll the frog prince” the employee explained.Youngmin nodded, and said a small “Hwaiting” and started throwing the darts at a quick pace. You avoided looking just in case he didn’t manage to pop half the balloons. You listened to constant pops of the balloons, but you didn’t dare look and before you knew it, the minute was over and a large object was placed atop of your head.You lifted the object and saw it was the green frog prince. You looked at Youngmin in surprise then looked towards to board. Your mouth opened; Youngmin managed to take out more than a half it. You looked back towards him, and he had a sheepish smile while rubbing the back of his neck. You smiled and hugged the frog, then hugged him.“Thank you” you smiled, and walked away from the booth with him.“No problem, anything for you. Why’d you want the frog any ways?” Youngmin replied.“Because it reminds me of you” You told him.Youngmin looked offended for a brief moment, but then said, “I am a prince aren’t I?”You exploded in laughter and patted his chest while saying, “suure”.The two of you went on arguing over it for a bit, but then you stopped in front of a rollercoaster.“Let’s go on it” you suggestedYoungmin agreed and the two of you waited in line. When you got to the front you gave your tickets and got seated into the rollercoaster, the frog and you backpack with one of the workers.  The rollercoaster started and the two of you went up the steep slope. As you got to the top, you decided to make a bet with Youngmin.“First one to scream has to pay for snacks” you dared.“You’re on” Youngmin agreed.Once Youngmin said that the rollercoaster went down, and he clasped onto your hand with his.When the ride ended, you were laughing loudly. You both had screamed once the rollercoaster dropped, but Youngmin was screaming nonstop. So that meant you won.The two of you got off the ride with your hands still entwined together.You got the frog and your backpack back from the worker, and received a photo of the two of you on the ride. You rolled up the picture and placed into your bag.You and Youngmin decided to on more rollercoaster rides, where he still screamed loudly, you went on the ride where you go up really high then drop down, you went on the ride wear you twirled around on the swings. You even went on the teacup ride where you got really dizzy and Youngmin had to put his arm over your shoulder to support you. His arm was still over yours as you went to get some snacks to eat, after the marigold ride.You hugged his side and leaned against him. This had to be the best birthday you had yet.“Let’s go get some cotton candy” Youngmin said, and lead you to the cotton candy stand.You received the cotton candy in a bag, since it would not make a mess, and you could save some for later. You ate some and fed some to Youngmin as you walked around the park. You still had some tickets left, so he used some to get more plushies. In the end, you both had a couple charm for your phone, a panda, and a bunny with a carrot.The two of you took a lot of selcas while walking to different rides, so you decided to go to the picture booth. You took lots of silly photos, and Youngmin decided to kiss your cheek like how they do in dramas. That was your favourite photo of all time.It was around seven- thirty when you exited the park. You and Youngmin were hungry, and it was time to meet up with your other friends for your birthday party.Youngmin drove you to another one of your favourite restaurants. It was a Korean BBQ house. You both walked in and saw your friends waving you over to their table.You sat in the middle next to Youngmin and your other good friend. You all talked, laughed and ate delicious meat. Near the end of the meal, your birthday cake was brought out, and everyone in your table and in the restaurant sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to you, and you received presents from everyone, but Youngmin.There was a norabang next door, and you all agreed to go to it, but first, Youngmin brought your gifts to his car. You helped him bring some of the presents to his car.“So when am I going to get my gift from you?” You asked Youngmin.“I already did! It was the muffin!” Youngmin said, acting innocent.Despite having Youngmin take you out to lunch and the amusement park, you couldn’t help but feel sad about not getting a small gift like the ones he gives you every year.The two of you walked in and found the room everyone was in, and sat down. Everyone took turns singing trot, k-pop songs, and failed attempts at dancing to SME group dances. You had lots of fun watching everyone sing and dance, especially Youngmin.Everyone thought that you and Youngmin should sing together for the current song. Even though you protested, no one listened and went against your wishes. The song that the two of you were going to sing was, ‘Lucky’ by Jason Mraz    (clicky)When Youngmin started singing, everyone’s voices turned fuzzy and all you could hear was his voice. You almost missed your turn to sing if it wasn’t until he turned to look at you before it was your turn. You sang as well, and you could feel his gaze on yours but you refused to look at him.Then came the chorus.Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

You peeked and saw Youngmin had his eyes closed too.The two of you stood there, heads together for a while before your friends’ ‘awws’ turned into awkward coughs.You both blushed and parted. You went back to sit in your original spot and kept your head down.The atmosphere got a little awkward after that, but everyone got over it. You kept your head up, but you refused to look towards Youngmin, feeling embarrassed.It was his turn to sing again, and you just averted your eyes. That was until you heard him call out your name in the microphone. You look towards him reluctantly and saw the determination in his eyes.“This song I dedicated to you” Youngmin stated.Then the song started. (Evil cackle) You covered you mouth, when you heard the beat start.Would you be my girlfriend?

He also started dancing along to the song.You started giggling as he sang and danced along to the song.At the end of the song, Youngmin comes towards you and get down on one knee. He digs through his pocket before pulling out a beautiful silver necklace.“Will you be my girlfriend?” he asked nervously,  holding the necklace towards you.You nod your head, “Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend”, you say shyly as you blush.Youngmin gets up and hugs you and you hug him back tightly. The crowd around you a.k.a your friends, go into a chorus of ‘AWWS’ and ‘How cuute!’ You bury your head into his neck as you hear some of you friends say, “It’s about time you two got together”.Youngmin chuckles and pulls away, far enough to see your face. He smiles down at you and puts the necklace on you.He whispers into your ear, “Happy Birthday baby”, and kisses your forehead.After the party at the norabang, Youngmin was driving you home.“So boyfriend”, you said.“So girlfriend” he replied mockingly.“You know, you kind of do look like Kwangmin from Boyfriend” you told him and giggled, knowing that he gets a little annoyed when people compare him to Kwangmin.And you were right, you heard him scoff, “Please, I’m more attractive then he his” Youngmin replied and flipped his hair.You shook your head and laughed. The two of you continued a random conversation. It was like you two weren’t dating, but, Youngmin was holding you hand.He drove you home, and walked you to your door.“This was the best birthday ever, thank you” You told Youngmin earnestly.“Anything for you jagiya”, Youngmin said, smirking when he saw you smile widely at the name.You turned to unlock the door. You opened the door, but first, you turned around and said,“Thank you seriously Youngmin. Thank you” you repeated again.He just shook his head and told you “Good Night” but before he left, you grabbed his arm and yanked him down . You looked into his eyes and kissed him on the lips.You pulled back and looked at his surprised face, and giggled.“Goodnight” you said and closed the door on him gently.You leaned against the door, and slid down.
