Chapter Three (1/1)

Jonghyun groaned in pain. It felt like his entire body was on fire. He arched his back and cringed in agony as he felt his back spasm. Every inch of his body was in pain. It was all because of Taemin.When they arrived back at the mansion, Taemin and thrown Jonghyun into the basement and decided to have his fun. He had tortured Jonghyun all day. He stabbed him and left cuts all over his body. He hit him with objects like a pipe. But worst of all, he pressed a silver heart shaped pendant on his chest, leaving a burnt indentation there.Taemin had left him alone for a few hours of beauty sleep lucky enough for Jonghyun. He was changed to the wall, covered in only a cloth around his waist. He sat on the ground, withering in pain.He heard the door to the basement open and he instantly froze. He looked up through his swollen eye (the other wouldn’t open) and saw Minho walking over to him. The other stood in front of him before knelling down. He reached out and instantly Jonghyun recoiled away from him. Minho stared at Jonghyun for a few moments before reaching out once more; pressing a steak to his swollen closed eyes.“Why are you doing this?” Jonghyun asked in a hoarse voice.Minho didn’t say anything at first before answering, “…He told me to make sure you’re alive.”Jonghyun scoffed, but it turned into a cough. He saw blood fly from his lips to Minho’s face, causing him to chuckle, “Barely…”The taller male glared at Jonghyun and grabbed his hair, “Stop making this worse for yourself. You shouldn’t have run. Those humans will be killed soon, you know that right?”The blonde stared at Minho, “They know where I was… they’ll protect them…”“You think so? Like they protected me?” Minho questioned as he glared at other, “Like they protected Taemin?”“That was my fault… not theirs,” Jonghyun spat back.Minho pushed Jonghyun away roughly, “It is all because of them! You are just too stupid! We’re at war, Jonghyun! We have been for decades and guess what, we’re always on the losing side!”Jonghyun rolled his eyes and stood up, shakily, “You gave up.”“No! I was taken before I had that chance,” Minho pointed out.“You were always the weakest,” Jonghyun chuckled, but it was cut short when Minho leapt at it. Minho’s nails grew and he dug them into Jonghyun’s throat. The blonde coughed and grabbed Minho’s arms, “Y-you don’t want to kill your m-master’s pet, Minho.”“I think he’ll forgive me,” Minho pointed out, squeezing tighter.Jonghyun struggled, “I-I’m sorry.”Minho stared at Jonghyun for the longest time before pulling away, “You should be. Because of you, Taemin became one of them.”The shorter werewolf leaned against the wall and rubbed his neck, “And then you tried to save him… and got kidnapped…”“Taemin… they tortured him, Jjong… just likes he’s done to you,” Minho pointed out as he looked at the other. Jonghyun casted his eyes to the ground, not wanting to look at Minho. He knew what they did to him. He always imagined Taemin’s screams in his head. “I loved him… so much, but he only loved you… now all he wants to do is kill you.”“I deserve it,” Jonghyun nodded. “But Key doesn’t… or Jinki.”Minho crossed his arms, “Taemin doesn’t care. He wants you to suffer.”Jonghyun looked at Minho and the other looked away, “No.”“Please-““No, I am in enough trouble as it is with you. I was the one who convinced him to stop last night,” Minho pointed out. He sighed and picked up the towel and bowl of water. “It is best to just get over them. They’ll be gone by morning.”Jonghyun glared at Minho, but said nothing more. He was angry that Minho would tell him that. He knew they would do something to help him. He knew Kibum would live through the night.  Kibum called out sick as did Jinki. Neither could go to work in their condition. Every time Jinki tried to touch him, Kibum would pull away. He was terrified over everything. All he could think about was the fact that the wolf he took care of the last few days turned into a human and the person who came looking for him was a psycho vampire.“Key, please sit down and eat something,” Jinki tried, but Kibum shot him a glare. The older male lifted his hands in defense. Kibum had been angry since last night. He decided it was best to just leave the other alone in fear of abuse.Jinki sighed. He had to do something to fix Kibum’s mood. He stood up and walked over to Kibum, he grabbed the other’s wrist and turned the other to face him. He placed his hands on Kibum’s cheeks and leaned forward, pressing their lips together. Kibum stilled for a moment, but he returned the kiss.They kissed for a few moments before Jinki pulled away, pressing his forehead against Kibum’s, “We’ll be alright…”Kibum looked at Jinki for a moment before pushing him away, “I don’t care about me! Don’t you realize what is going on?!”“Joss Whedon was legit?” Jinki asked.The younger male punched Jinki’s arm, “This isn’t a TV show! This is real life, Jinki! Jonghyun is in danger and-““And you want us to what? Fight to save his life? I like living, Key. Living is awesome,” Jinki reached for Kibum’s hand and pressed it against his chest, “Do you feel that? This is my heart and it is beating. It is beating for you, if you haven’t realized. Why should we give this up for him?”Kibum stared at Jinki for a moment before pushing him away, “How can you ask me to pretend like none of this fucking happened?!  I can just sit back and go to the café and pretend like I never saw a fucking wolf turn into a fucking human!”“Key, listen to yourself-““This isn’t a dream, Jinki! Wake up from yours,” Kibum spat as he walked to the door. He grabbed his coat and put it on. He went to the door, but Jinki pulled him back, “What the hell are you doing, Key?!”Kibum pulled away from Jinki and glared at him, “I’m going to find Jonghyun. With or without your help!”He opened the door and was instantly greeted by Taemin, grinning ear to ear. Minho was next to him, staring blankly, “Minho, kill the cute one. This one is mine.”Minho nodded and instantly transformed into a wolf. He slammed Kibum against the wall before charging at Jinki who broke into a run. “ONEW!”Kibum made a move to chase after Jinki, but he slammed farther into the wall. He stared at Taemin in horror. The other’s fangs were completely visible, “I can see Jonghyun’s interest in you. You’re pretty.”Taemin ran a finger down Kibum’s neck as he licked his lips, “Your heart is beating so fast.”“AHHH!”“ONEW!”Taemin slammed Kibum even farther into the wall. Chippings from the wall fell onto his shoulder, “Ah ah ah, no screaming…”“Take your own advice.”“Huh?” Taemin looked over his shoulder and a wooden bat connected with it. Kibum stared in horror as Taemin flew back out the front door. He glanced at the person in front of him who grinned, “Hey, I’m Jinyoung,” he winked, “Yah! Gongchan! Get this guy out of here,” he yelled before running off after Taemin who was already standing up.He watched him go before looking down. He nearly jumped out of his skin when he saw the wolf. It stared up at him and motioned its head to its back, “Y-you want me to ride you?”It nodded and Kibum nodded back. He slowly got on it and wrapped his legs and arms around it before it took off, “Wait! Jinki!”“He’s fine,” a voice said. He glanced over to his side and saw a young boy with glasses, “Baro and Sandeul’s got him. Jinyoung! Let’s go.”He heard voices and growling behind him and the wolf whined. The boy with glasses stopped and so did the wolf, “Fine, go help him. Come here,” he grabbed Kibum’s hand and pulled him off. The wolf instantly took off, “Baro! Here. I’m Shinwoo, by the way,” he said before two more wolves came over. One had Jinki clinging to it for dear life.“Get on,” Shinwoo said as he helped Key on the blonde wolf. He patted the wolf’s head before shouting, “Go! Now!”The wolves nodded before taking off down the road. Kibum glanced back over his shoulder. Everything was blurry, but he could make out silhouettes fighting. He had a dreadful feeling about it. He closed his eyes tightly and focused on remembering how to breathe.________________________________________©sungyo2o12
