Just before the battle:“We really thought we were finished.” Chaeyoung let out a relieve sigh, sitting herself on a chair inside a tent that have been prepared by the palace guards for them to stay in and plan for their attack.“I know right. It’s a good thing that Jin and the others arrived just in time.” Jimin agreed.“So that’s what you’ve been doing all this time?” Jennie turned towards Namjoon who was standing by the future king’s side. “You went back to Auradon to fetch the future king.”“And it’s a good thing that Namjoon did so, or you all have been hurt badly by now.” Seokjin nagged with his accusing voice. “I couldn’t believe that you would do this. You’ve put yourselves in danger!” Seokjin was obviously angry.“We’re sorry Jin. But Jisoo’s in trouble. You couldn’t expect us to just sit around, right?” Jungkook reasoned.“I expected you to have remained calm and told me of what you were planning to do!”Seokjin fired back and everyone became quiet. “For god’s sake! Jisoo’s my sister! What do you think I’ve felt knowing that my sister is in danger?”Seokjin was lost in his own emotions. He was furious and scared at the same time. No matter how much he wanted to just let his feelings out, he needed to remain calm and in control. He needed to show his people of what a good ruler should act during these kinds of situation.“Anyway, we have to plan in order to save Jisoo and everyone else.” Seokjin finally changed the topic to which they all felt relieve about. “I believe you all know about Auradon’s history.” He started and they all just nodded. “But that’s not all of it. Something else had happened that night, ten years ago.”Everyone inside the tent suddenly became serious and worried at the same time. By the way Seokjin looked at that time, they knew that it was some kind of a bad memory to be recalled.“Merlin.” Seokjin called out and an old man came inside the tent holding an ancient looking sword.“Your highness.” Merlin bowed. “As what the future king had said, something else happened that night when princess Jisoo absorbed the evil powers. We all believed that only the princess was inside the circle, causing for her to absorb the powers, but there’s someone else who happened to beinside it.” Merlin started and stared directly towards Taehyung’s direction.“Don’t tell me that I—” Taehyung was astonished and even the rest were shock too.“Yes, your highness. A tiny part of the evil powers has transferred to you too. Maybe that’s why you have the curse of the beast inside of you. It was caused by that tiny amount of evil that resides in you.” Merlin explained.“Just hold up.” Jimin cut off. “But why them? I thought the king was supposed to absorb the powers right? And the three of them was inside the circle, so why only them?”“The darkness is drawn to the light. Meaning the evil is drawn to anything that is pure. And both the princess and prince Taehyung was just children, innocent children and it just so happens that they’re inside the circle. But princess Jisoo was the nearest and so most of the powers were transferred into her.” Merlin answered.“So what’s the connection of this sudden history lessons to our current problem, exactly?” Yoongi scoffed, feeling irritated by the current story telling about the past.“This leads us into our Plan B of attack.” Seokjin answered quickly.“Plan B? You mean to say Plan A? Since A go first before B in the alphabet.” Hoseokramble but kept his mouth shut when his friends gave him a warning look.“Well, that’s why it’s Plan B. We will not do it as long as Plan A works and I definitely don’t like Plan B so we stick with Plan A, okay?” Seokjin finally declared.“So what’s Plan A?” Jungkook asked immediately.“It’s easy actually.” Namjoon replied this time, since he was the one who formulated it. “We just simply charge into our enemies’ gates, retrieve the wand and save everyone.” Namjoon finished and everyone was scowling.“Ya! Kim Namjoon! Do you really think it’s that easy?” Lisa complained.“We have no choice.” Seokjin stated sternly. “We need to make this plan work.” Seokjin insisted and everyone noticed his gloomy face, like he was hiding something.“What’s Plan B?” Taehyung asked suddenly, making Seokjin flinch.“I told you, we stick to Plan A.” Seokjin exclaimed.“What. Is. Plan. B.” Taehyung stated firmly, his eyes were looking straight at Seokjin.“I—”“It’s you.” Merlin answered instead. “Plan B is you, prince Taehyung.”Everyone was silent once again. They all looked confused except Seokjin and Namjoon who looked like they’re going to be sick. Seokjin’s face told them that he really didn’t like the plan and they started to feel like he’s right about not liking it. Yoongi looked back in between Merlin and Taehyung and he noticed the silent conversation that was happening between them and he didn’t like it when it looked like Taehyung was starting to understand it.“What the fxxk are you talking about, huh?” Yoongi snapped.“If Maleficent is able to get their powers back, prince taehyung will have to step up and absorbed it instead of them.” Merlin continued.“But what about Jisoo? She’ll die!” Jungkook exclaimed.“She will not die. I assure you that, your highnesses.” Merlin said. “Princess Jisoo came back to life because of prince Taehyung.” Merlin added and eyed everyone knowingly. “True love’s kiss is not a myth.” He smiled, making Taehyung blush incredibly, remembering the kiss he gave to Jisoo ten years ago.“But what about Taehyung?” Chaeyoung was still worried and Merlin looked hesitant.“Once Maleficent will sucked out the powers from the princess, prince Taehyung has to stop it by absorbing them inside him.” Merlin started again. “That tiny evil power he got inside of him will let it be drawn to him instead. And that’s when..”“What?” Yoongi asked, feeling impatient.“And that’s when someone will have to kill me.” Taehyung answered.Everyone was too shocked to even respond. Seokjin avoided everyone’s eyes and so did Namjoon while the rest was taken aback and started to protest all at once.“You’re joking, right?” Jungkook laughed half-heartedly.“Stop it. It’s not funny.” Jimin joined in. “It’s just a joke, right Jin?” Jimin tried to look at Seokjin but the latter didn’t respond at all, telling them that it wasn’t a joke.“I’m afraid not, your highness. Someone will have to kill him with this sword.” Merlin then gestured to the sword that he was holding, King Arthur’s sword. “Since the Beast inside him will go berserk once all the powers are inside him, we need to stop it eventually.” Merlin explained further.“No!” Chaeyoung wailed. “This can’t be!” She cried.“Shh..”Seokjin immediately went to Chaeyoung and hugged her for comfort. “I’m not letting it happen. That’s why it’s Plan B. And that’s why we need for Plan A to work.” He stated and looked at everyone’s determined looks on their faces. “We will definitely make it work.”Everybody started to move, getting ready for the incoming war. Seokjin and Namjoon together with the tacticians were still inside the tent, reviewing the battle plan, while Jungkook, Jimin, Chaeyoung, Lisa, Hoseok and Jennie were just outside the tent, talking and practicing with their own weapons. Taehyung on the other hand were lying leisurely on a grassy slope nearby.“What are you thinking?” Yoongi suddenly appeared to Taehyung’s side, sitting himself beside him.“Plan B.” Taehyung answered truthfully.“Ya.” Yoongi nagged. “How many times do—”“You have to do it.” Taehyung cut off, making Yoongi gaped. “We both know that anything could go wrong and I need you to do it.” Taheyung repeated to which Yoongi was starting get annoyed to.“What are you talking about?” Yoongi exclaimed angrily.“You have to kill me.” Taehyung stated.“N—”“I have to save Jisoo.” Taehyung mumbled, making Yoongi quiet. “I will not let her die again. I will gladly exchange my life for her. And I need you to help achieve that.” Taehyung faced Yoongi directly. “You care about her, don’t you?”“I—” Yoongi hesitated to answer but thought that it was too late to deny it. “I do.”“So promise me to protect her.” Taehyung stated.“I promise.”*****
