Goodbye and Hello (1/1)

Chapter 3 – Goodbye and Hello The morning’s rays touched Jessica’s face and she gave off a warm smile while waking up, remembering how her night with Jaejoong was. But then she suddenly remembered that she still doesn’t know when Jaejoong would go to Japan. She looked at the calendar and it says November 15.She hurriedly fixed herself to celebrate their 5 year anniversary in front of the big fountain in Seoul. With all the flat shoes and cute pale pink dress, she patiently sat down beside the fountain for Jaejoong. It was where they always celebrate at exactly 8 in the morning. She smiled at the joyful kids that were passing by her. It was almost 10 o’clock and Jaejoong hasn’t showed up. She didn’t even receive any text message, nor call from him.But actually, Jaejoong and Donghae were watching her from afar standing behind a post just across the street. Jaejoong felt really guilty for doing this to her but he has to do this.  Jessica’s face wasn’t shown because of her golden hair that covered it. Lastly, he decided to text her “Happy anniversary!” before going to the airport. He waited for Jessica to look at her phone and when she did, he turned his back and ready to head for the airport. Donghae stood still for a while, and looked guiltily at Jessica. He felt so pitiful towards her. He then followed Jaejoong.On the gate, Jaejoong smiled bitterly at Donghae and patted his shoulders. “Please take care of her.” Jaejoong pleaded Donghae as he left for Japan for his medications.“Don’t worry. I will.” Donghae walked slowly outside the airport and looked at the clear blue sky thinking how should he keep his promise to his friend. It was hard on his part but he has to at least try. He then got a cab and went home, trying to prepare for the big day tomorrow. Meanwhile, it was getting dark when Jessica felt the cold breeze of solstice. She rubbed her arms for warmth and when things eventually sank in to her, she stood up and headed home feeling disappointed on how Jaejoong let her wait and only sending her a text message.She opened the door to her room and looked up to the ceiling. I’m guessing he left for Japan without telling me. What have I done wrong to him? Maybe, he’s leaving me. No…he will never do that. Those questions and thoughts kept coming into her head but she convinced herself that her Oppa would never do it. Off then she dozed to dreamland.Next MorningDonghae looked at the picture Jaejoong gave him. Woah, talk about beauty. Jaejoong sure knows how to get a girl. He thought. He then advanced to that small tea shop by the corner as said by Jaejoong. Donghae opened the glassed door and chimes started to sound. He began looking for a seat and he chose the one beside the wide glassed window. The sun’s rays hit his face gently and majestically showing his strong profile. Soon, a petite young lady walked to him and placed the menu right in front of him. “May I take your order, Sir?” She said in a cute voice. Donghae gladly took the menu from her hands without taking a glance at her face. The danshin little waitress took out her small notepad and pen to write down Donghae’s desires. “Uhm, I’ll have uhm, a one slice of leche flan and uh, just one hot coffee.”“I’ll be right back in five minutes, Sir, with your order.” She turned her back when Donghae took a glance of her. He immediately noticed the blonde hair and began contemplating whether that girl was just Jessica Jung.“Yoona! One hot coffee and a slice of leche flan!” She yelled from the counter. She leaned on the wall for a while, while waiting for the customer’s order. She looked around the shop but every time her eyes roll, it always land on that guy beside the window, the one who’s just waiting for his hot coffee and leche flan.“He has nice features.” She whispered to herself, and Yoona begins to ring the little bell telling her that order’s up. She got the tray from Yoona’s hand and walked towards the table. Every step, she felt as if her heart is rushing. He’s just handsome, Sica. No need to feel flustered about it. And besides, you’re loyal to Jaejoong. She thought. When she placed the tray on his table, her hands trembled so the tray was shaking. “Oooh, carefull Miss!” He said in a concerned voice still without looking at her and instead at the tray.“Neh, joesonghamnida.” Why am I being like this? She asked herself in her thoughts. She left slowly until she heard a small ouch from the guy. She hurriedly rushed to his side like she had adrenaline. “A-are you ok, Sir?”“Ah, neh. I-I just burnt my tongue. Your coffee’s really hot!” He said amusingly while looking at his coffee. Jessica remembered when Jaejoong burnt his tongue and she again felt burdened about their issue. Before leaving to get some ice for the customer, Donghae finally took a glimpse of her and his eyes widened and his hand just had a reflex of grabbing her wrist and pulling her back. “S-sir?”“A-are you JUNG JESSICA?!” He said in an excited tone. She gave him her shock and confused look. H-how did he know my name? She thought.“Y-y-yes, waeyo?” She stuttered. The guy then pulled her closer to him and let her sit down right across him. “Uhm sir, I still have work to do.”“Sorry, but before you go back to your work, I’ll have to introduce you myself. I’m Lee Donghae and I want to be your friend.”“B-but why?”“Because…well, you look really pretty and well…uh, can’t I have more friends?” He gave off a goofy smile.“B-but how did you know my name? Are you like a stalker or something?”Donghae laughed and Jessica has to swear that that smile was the brightest one she ever saw. “Well silly, isn’t that your name tag hanging?” He again gave off that smile that as bright as jewels. Yoona then enters the scene and drags her unnie to the kitchen to help her with the work.Evening came and only a few customers entered the shop. But Jessica noticed that Donghae guy still sitting where he was this morning. She decided to speak to him. “Uhm Sir, I’m sorry but it’s strictly prohibited in our shop to stay for this long. So if I may say, please leave our establishment now.” She said in a fading voice, afraid to disappoint him.“Or you could just order something from our shop to extend your stay here.”“Ok, I’ll have two chocolate shakes and… two slices of strawberry cheesecake.” Two? Jessica thought but she asked Yoona to make those though. While delivering the order to Donghae, he told her. “Have a seat.” He said while extending his arm.“N-neh?”“Don’t worry. I already told your boss.”“Told my boss what?!?” Jessica said irritatingly.“Hey hey hey, calm down. I just told her if I could borrow you for a little dinner like this, and she agreed.” He said while shrugging his shoulders. She rolled her eyes and sat right across him. As she was about to bite the cake, Donghae offered. “Say ‘AAAAAAHHH’.”Surprised, she actually opened her mouth from shock and Donghae just placed the cake in her mouth. Since she can’t do anything, she just chewed it while staring at Donghae intensely. After eating, Jessica headed back to the kitchen and talked to Yoona about the mysterious guy.“Yah unnie. He’s been here all day. Do you know him?”“I barely do. He says he wants to be my friend.” Both girls looked from the kitchen’s little window to see that Donghae guy finishing up his strawberry cheesecake while smiling a little. He noticed the two girls and he smiled at them.“Ooh, be careful with those kinds unnie.” Yoona warned. “But I got to admit, you are one lucky girl to be asked by a handsome man like him.”“But come to think of it, Jaejoong also told me those exact words before and look where it took us.”“A-are you saying you’re replacing Jaejoong already while he’s in Japan?!?”“OF COURSE NO!” Jessica then headed back outside to wait for some customers to enter their place. She was feeling a bit uneasy because Donghae kept on staring at her while smiling. As the second to the last customer exited and gave Jessica a tip, the chimes near the door filled the silence in the tea shop. Donghae was actually the last customer so Jessica decided to tell him to go home. “Sir, we’re already closing.”“I’m waiting for someone.”“Can’t you wait for that person somewhere else?”“Nope, she’s already here.”“Then leave already.” She said coldly being irritated with him.“I can’t. She’s not yet leaving.”“Wha—? Who are you waiting for anyway?!?” She asked him with her voice slightly raised with anger.“Hmmm…” His eyes explored the whole building until they landed right on Jessica’s eyes. Her heart was about to pop out because of the fast beating. “…you.” He said while pointing right at her and giving off that smile that could kill anybody.“M-me?”“Unnie, I’m going—“ Yoona exclaimed as she locked the kitchen door when she noticed the mysterious guy her unnie was talking about just a while ago. “Ei, why do you keep on insisting to be friends with my unnie?” She said as she put her arm on Jessica’s shoulders. “Don’t you know, she already has a boyfriend and you’ll really be dead once he knows you’re checking out his girl?”“You mean…her boyfriend which is in Japan right now because of military training?” He said confidently. Yoona and Jessica exchanged glances both thinking, He knows Jaejoong?As if he could read their minds, he answered, “Yep, I know Jaejoong and I am here to make sure you Ms. Jessica Jung won’t look at other guys while my best friend is away.” Both ladies were surprised on his statement.“Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”“Because you’re still busy and I want to know you more before telling you the truth.”“You know…I HATE liars.” She hissed.“I know that. Jaejoong told me.”Jessica rolled her eyes as she removed her apron and got her bag. “We’re going home so you better head home as well.” She said blankly. Yoona followed her unnie exiting the establishment. Donghae followed as well. “I’ll take you home.” He said cheerfully as he took Jessica’s bag from her.“Yah! Why are you taking my bag?!”“Just to ensure that you’ll let me take you home.” He then turned his attention to the bored Yoona at their back. “Wanna join us? Jessica surely would go with me if you’re with us.”“Sure.” She said with a sleepy smile.“You could take Yoona home, I’m going on my own.” She said coldly while grabbing her bag from Donghae but he won’t let her.“Uh-uh-uh.” He told her while moving his index finger. “I promised Jaejoong to take care of you.”“Ugh, of all the people. Why you?! It could be Yoona.” She pouted angrily which Donghae found cute. He looked at Yoona and signaled her to help him out. Yoona got it and she grabbed Jessica’s arm.“C’mon unnie. I wanna go home already. Jaejoong Oppa would really be mad at you if you go home alone.” Jessica rolled her eyes in defeat. The trio started walking and after 10 minutes, they arrived at Yoona’s house. “Good night, unnie! Take care of her, Oppa or else you’re gonna get from me.” She then closed the gate leaving Donghae and Jessica alone. Both waved at her before heading to Jessica’s house. She kept a wide distance from him as they walked. Unfortunately, a speedy car passed by! Donghae ran to drag Jessica away and good thing, they were safe.“Now this is what Jaejoong is afraid of.” He reprimanded her. She forcefully removed his hands on her and gave off an icy glare.“I’m fine.” She ran to get her bag and rushed to head home causing Donghae to run after her.“Don’t I even get a ‘thank you’?” He said as he caught up with her running out of air. Jessica didn’t respond. “Geez, Jaejoong told me you’re easy to get along with but I’m guessing he’s wrong. You know, people like me a lot and smile whenever I pass by them but you Miss is just sooooo…different.” He bragged.“It’s because you irritate me in any way. Why would Jaejoong even think that I will look at other guys while he’s gone?”“I don’t know, ask him.” He said sarcastically causing Jessica to laugh discreetly. Donghae noticed this and he immediately smiled when he actually made this one stubborn girl smile. “Ei. You’re smiling already!” Jessica’s expression changed from happy to a stern one.“I am not.” She said while punching his arm lightly, preventing her smile.“See that! You’re preventing your smile!” He said while smiling widely.“I said I am not!” She pouted.“Aigoo. You’re really cute when you do that.” He said now in a normal voice. Jessica was surprised at the sudden compliment and looked at him for a while. “What?” He asked all flustered. “You said you hate liars, I’m just telling the truth!” He defended.She rolled her eyes while smiling a little. The two finally had a peaceful walk on the way to Jessica’s house. “I hope I’ll be like Jaejoong…” He said causing Jessica to look at him with confused-nervous look. “…I hope someday I could find a girl like you.” He told her while looking at the sky full of stars.“Waeyo? Don’t you have a girlfriend?” She asked him now full of curiosity.“Nope.” He said still looking up with a little smile and he looked at her. “I never had one, and I have never fallen in love yet.”Jessica was shocked at his confession. A handsome man like him never had a girlfriend? That’s just odd. She thought. After a few minutes, they arrived at her house. “Well, here we are!” She said now in a gleeful tone of voice. “Thanks for taking me home. But really, you don’t have to do this.” She said to him.“Well, I promised your boyfriend so I don’t know. For me, promises aren’t meant to be broken.”She smiled at him and bid him good night. Donghae took a cab in going home and Jessica made sure that he rode safely. She entered her house and found her mom sleeping soundly. She headed towards her room and changed in to house clothes and sat down on her desk. She took a small black notebook, her diary, and wrote there “Donghae – I made a new friend!” She closed the notebook after putting her signature on it and lied down on her bed. She looked up to the ceiling thinking about what just happened today. She sighed while plastering a smile on her face. “Lee Donghae, why do you give me mixed emotions?” With that, she dozed off.--[a/n]Ahoooiii! Another fast update. Hehe. How’d you like it? :DFINALLY, there’s HaeSica for y’all! :D I saw a post in tumblr a translation in WGM where Donghae appeared again in TeukSora's and said he wants a petite girl and I reposted it with my opinion, like putting Jessica's name. :D Then a pyro trolled saying it could be Yoong. Eh? For sure even Donghae would say Yoona's tall. Please Pyros, let's not troll on each other. Ok? :) Sorry but I just don't like trolling.
