"Sweet dreams, Baekhyun!" Chanyeol called from the older boy's doorway. Baekhyun smiled as he looked up from his laptop screen.  "Goodnight, Chanyeol.  Sleep well!"  Chanyeol gave one more wave before leaving Baekhyun in his room alone.Outside, a cold wind and harsh rain raged on.  Baekhyun shivered before draping a blanket over his shoulders. On his laptop, SNSD's latest video was playing.  Placing his headphones in his ears, he quietly sang along to the songs so he wouldn't wake up the other members, who were supposed to be asleep by now. Baekhyun heard a thumping noise, followed by muffled yell.  His heart sped up before he realized that a dirty pop-up ad had just appeared on his computer.  With a hand over his chest, Baekhyun closed out of the offending tab before someone walked in on him.  The noises continued for a few more seconds, but Baekhyun just figured that it was due to lag and he tried to ignore them.They didn't last too long, so Baekhyun then returned to his various music videos, this time throwing the blanket off and dancing along with the long-legged girls of Girls' Generation. Suddenly, his laptop screen turned black.  Baekhyun peered around to the back of his laptop to see if the charger connected to it had shorted out.  Not a millisecond later, the light in his room went out. Lightning flashed outside, temporarily illuminating the room.  Confused, Baekhyun walked over to the light switch by his door.  He turned the switch off and on a few times, but nothing happened. "Damn blackouts." Baekhyun cursed under his breath.  Now he couldn't watch his precious videos. "Wait." Baekhyun thought, suddenly realizing something. He walked back to his bed, nearly tripping over something in the darkness.  The lightning revealed a laundry basket full of dirty clothes that he had been neglecting to wash.  He cursed his laziness before reaching over to his laptop and pressing the power button.  It failed to start up, leaving Baekhyun confused. "If the power went out, it shouldn't affect my laptop..."Shrugging, Baekhyun closed the laptop and walked over to his door again, his path lit up once again by the lightning outside. Right across the narrow hall was Kyungsoo's room, so Baekhyun walked in with his laptop to ask the wide-eyed vocalist for help."Yah, is your laptop working?  Mine is--" Baekhyun stopped in his tracks when he saw a small candle burning on Kyungsoo's bedside table.  It emitted a soft glow that was only enough to light up the table and not much else. A glass of water was on the table, along with a powdery substance in and around the cup that Baekhyun couldn't identify.  Worriedly, he picked up the candle and held it out to see what else was in the room.Kyungsoo's room was neat, as expected of the "umma" of EXO.  Baekhyun scanned the room for his friend before finally looking at the bed.On the bed was Kyungsoo, his back turned towards Baekhyun.  He appeared to be in a deep sleep.  Relieved, Baekhyun moved closer to the bed to attempt to wake the younger vocalist up."Wake up, lazy." Baekhyun urged, turning Kyungsoo over so that he was lying on his back.  Like a dead weight, Kyungsoo rolled over and his head lolled to the side.Blood trickled out of the vocalist's mouth, and his eyes were wide and staring off into space.  There were scratch marks on his neck that appeared to be self-inflicted, as if Kyungsoo was choking. Without a doubt, Kyungsoo was dead.The powder must've been a poison.  And judging from the scratch marks, Baekhyun knew that his good friend hadn't just committed suicide.Stunned, Baekhyun dropped the candle, which went out immediately.  Kyungsoo's room had no windows, so it was pitch black except for the sliver of light that flashed every so often from the window in Baekhyun's room across the hall."Level-headed leader Suho will know what to do," thought Baekhyun, his heart beating fast as he left Kyungsoo's room in a hurry.Suho's room was right next to Kyungsoo's, so Baekhyun got there quickly.  "Hyung, hyung!" Baekhyun cried, rushing through Suho's door.  "Why isn't he answering?" Baekhyun thought frantically.  He stepped on a small cylindrical object, stopping him in his tracks.  Picking it up, Baekhyun discovered that it was a flashlight.Baekhyun pressed the "on" button before turning it towards Suho's room.  The light roved over several of the leader's personal effects before landing on Suho's legs.  Baekhyun moved over to Suho to wake him up."Hyung, Kyungsoo...was..." Baekhyun started to say but he immediately stopped when he moved the flashlight up to Suho's upper torso.  Blood soaked the sheets under Suho's shoulders.  Something startled Baekhyun even more.His leader's head was missing.Feeling sick, Baekhyun turned away from the body and back towards the door.  On the floor was Suho's head--eyes wide open and mouth agape.  Baekhyun opened his mouth to scream but ended up clutching his stomach and hurling up his dinner. A cold sweat broke out across Baekhyun's skin, giving him chills as he stumbled out of the leader's room. "Kai...Kai..." Baekhyun called weakly, nearly doubled over as he made his way through the door across the hall from Suho's room. Tears streamed down his face as he used the flashlight to look around Kai's messy room.  The window was wide open, and the wind blew the rainwater into the small room.  A small puddle had begun to form on the floor.  The flashlight beam went over to the water and found another puddle right next to it."Is that...blood?"He looked around the room, but Kai was nowhere to be found.  Blood was smeared on the windowsill, as if someone had dragged Kai's body out of the window. Baekhyun felt the cold sweat again and hot tears nearly blinded his vision as he rushed out of Kai's room, unable to look at the blood that likely belonged to his friend and group mate.Right next to Kai's room was none other than the maknae's.  Before rushing in like the other rooms, Baekhyun hesitated.Images of Suho being decapitated, blood gushing out of Kyungsoo's mouth, and Kai screaming as an unknown killer dragged him to his death flashed through Baekhyun's head.  That combined with the smell of blood that  seemed even stronger now found Baekhyun dry heaving onto the hallway carpet. With a shaky hand, Baekhyun grabbed onto the door handle of Sehun's room. Torturing himself, he turned the handle took in a deep breath before going inside.There, hanging from a rope in the middle of the ceiling, was Sehun.The noose around the maknae's neck was bloodied, showing that like Kyungsoo, little maknae Sehun was also trying to avoid this untimely death.Sehun's hands were also bloody; some of his fingernails were peeling away or stuck into the rope around his neck.  They hung limply at Sehun's sides. Horrified, Baekhyun rushed up to Sehun and pulled the rope down from a hook on the ceiling.  He placed Sehun on his bed and cried over his body.  "Sehun-ah...Why is this happening?" Baekhyun said, more to himself than to Sehun's corpse.Baekhyun then realized that the only room he hadn't checked was Chanyeol's, even though Chanyeol's room was right next to his own.  After going to Suho's room, Baekhyun had kept moving from room to room, farther and farther away from Chanyeol's room.As if on cue, Baekhyun heard Chanyeol's voice."Baekhyun hyung!  Hyung!  Help me! I'm in the kitchen! I'm in the kitchen!" Chanyeol yelled from downstairs."Chanyeol!!" Baekhyun yelled back, eyes wide as he darted out of Sehun's room and went straight for the stairs. Baekhyun started to take a few steps at a time, but stopped midway when he heard Chanyeol's voice again."Wait!  Hyung!"That voice was definitely from Chanyeol's room at the end of the hallway--the opposite direction of the kitchen."Don't go!  I heard the voice too!"Baekhyun slowly sank down onto the stairs and hugged his legs close to him, tears running down his cheeks. Chanyeol's voice from earlier that evening rang in his ears.Sweet dreams, Baekhyun. ~~~~~Anyone laugh at the "level-headed" part? You know, since he was decapitated? heheheheh.
