Just a coincidence (1/1)
Outside the school, leaning on her car, Tiffany watched the silent building waiting for her sisters. She massaged her forehead, she was tired. She looked around, noticing its complete silence. Why were the twins taking so long to leave? She checked her watch and snorted, pulling out her cell phone once again to call Yuri.Fast Dial Number Three.Weird.Yuri wasn’t picking up the phone.Something was wrong. She started walking slowly to the school’s entrance still holding her cell phone to the ear, waiting her sister to pick up.Nothing, she was getting nervous by the minute. As a well known former student, she didn’t have problems to cross the gate. Walking quicker and quicker, she was close to running already when she finally got to the main corridor. What she heard made her give up calling her sister completely. It was Yuri screaming for Yoona. The loud screaming contributed to her despair. Tiffany didn’t think about anything, she just put her cell phone back in her pocket and ran.It was the first time she ran so fast for sure, she was almost slipping. Her heart was aching terribly already by Seohyun’s disappearance, if something happens to Yuri or Yoona she’ll break down completely.Turning on a long corridor she saw Yuri, she ran to her.Yuri was kneeled on the floor, screaming loud for her sister and waiting for an answer. Jessica hugged her from behind trying to calm her down, to put her under some control but it was useless. Some janitors and teachers who were still at the school started to appear, alerted by all the screaming.Tiffany finally reached her, kneeling down in front of Yuri trying to understand what happened.“What happened, Yuri? Where’s Yoona?” She asked aloud in order to be heard over Yuri’s screaming.“I don’t know… I don’t know…” Jessica cried, hugging Yuri. She still manage to point at the locker behind Tiffany, making her stand up and look inside it.Terrified, she covered her mouth with her hand, unable to stop her tears and the growing feeling of despair that consumed her. She could still hear her sister screaming, finding no comfort in anyone. Violently kicking the lockers, she walks away pulling out her cell phone again with trembling hands.“Kim Hyoyeon.”“Here’s Tiffany Hwang…” She said, making a huge effort to make her voice audible and firm enough to be understood.“Tiffany? What’s wrong?” The other voice sounded worried. She certainly could her screaming in the background.“Yoona’s missing…”Tiffany told her where they were and the investigator promised to be there as soon as possible.Yuri couldn’t stop screaming for Yoona. She was clearly in shock. If she blamed herself already tooo much for Seohyun’s disappearance, now with Yoona missing her chest was about to explode. She was the most important person in her life, no doubts. Jessica was her girlfriend, someone whom she loved deeply, but Yoona was always by her side before birth. They were always really close… She felt like a part of her had been ripped.Jessica tried unsuccessfully to hold her girlfriend firmly to calm her down. She tried to hide the pain from being kicked due to Yuri’s attempts to set herself free and run away. It hurts. The physical pain was huge, but the emotional pain in seeing her like this was worse. Crying and holding her strongly, Jessica tried to calm herself, but it was an impossible task.Yuri didn’t pay attention to anyone. Not even her Arts teacher, Andy Lee, whom she liked so much could get her attention. Tiffany sat in front of her sister, holding her face.“Yuri, listen to me… Yoona’s going to be ok, we’ll find them both, alright? Please, she’d hate to see you like this...”Tiffany didn’t have strength to demand from Yuri what she herself couldn’t give. She also was crying, sat on the floor, broken inside. She tried to make Yuri see her, listen to her, but Yuri seemed totally lost. She screamed her sister’s name without a rest and she started showing signs of exhaustion, but she wouldn’t stop. To Tiffany, that was even more difficult to see.Tiffany pulled out her cell phone again, sobbing.Fast Dial Number Two.“I need you.” She sobbed when someone picked up the phone. She hung up the phone, putting it back on her pocket and walking to a shelf, picking some medicines. She got a first aid box and put the medicines inside. She walked to another room, took her backpack and turned around, ready to leave.“Hey, where are you going?” A man in white clothes asks her.“I have an emergency. I should be back in an hour, would you cover me up, please? The man was astonished.“Again? Taeyeon-shi, we need you here!”She didn’t pay him any attention. She knew the chances of being fired were minimal: she was the best employee they ever had. They turned the blind eye to her constant absences and her coworkers had more bad things to say about her than good things. But Taeyeon couldn’t care less.Few minutes later she parked her car in front of a huge school, Tiffany waited for her. Holding the box, she left the car and hugged her. Quickly, they went inside the building.Going upstairs, they soon saw a couple hugging on the floor at the end of the corridor.Releasing Tiffany’s hand, Taeyeon sat in front of Yuri. She still called for her sister, non-stop, exhausted, all sweat and her face red.Taeyeon thought quickly. Jessica was still holding Yuri from behind, visibly tired. Yuri didn’t seem to listen or react to anything.“Ok… Don’t be scared.” She asked the others, gaining questioning looks from everyone around her, specially Tiffany and Jessica.Holding Yuri’s head firmly, she screamed at her face as loud as she could. Jessica wasn’t ready for that, instinctively falling behind. Silence was now filling the corridor. Yuri had stopped.“Are you crazy?” Jessica looked at her, in shock.“It was necessary.” She calmly explained. “She was in shock and her body exhausted, she needed to rest…”Jessica didn’t let her finish. She ran to Taeyeon, grabbing her by the collar.“I’m so full of your shit attitudes and explanations!” She said, harshly, holding the smaller one against the lockers. “She’s not an animal!”“Jessica, stop!” Tiffany asked, holding Jessica and successfully making her release Taeyeon. “I called her. She’s here to help, ok?”Taeyeon sighed. Everyone there seemed close to a break down. Jessica was out of control, feeling so much pain. Tiffany wasn’t too far from that. Kneeling again to take care of the twin that now only sobbed, Taeyeon gave her some medicines to make her sleep.“Let’s take her to a hospital.” She said to the two girls now hugging.Tiffany nodded.“Kim Taeyeon?”Hyoyeon’s voice called everyone’s attention to the two investigators.“What are you doing here?” Hyoyeon asked curiously.“Tiffany called me.” Taeyeon answered, noticing the investigators questioning expressions. “My workplace is nearby.”Hyoyeon and Sooyoung exchanged discreet glances. They were thinking the same thing.Taeyeon’s apartment was close to the Jungs’ house…And her workplace was close…To the school.
