Blueberry Pancakes (1/1)

Youngjae woke up to the smell of blueberry pancakes. He blinked a few times, rubbing away the sleep in his dark brown eyes as he tried to make sense of what was happening, and why exactly there was a mouth-watering aroma of maple syrup floating around his apartment. It was quite new to him, actually waking up the smell of proper food since the only food the young blonde had in his house were bowls of ramen stacked neatly in the kitchen cabinets and a carton of vanilla-flavored soymilk in the fridge. Other than that, his kitchen was a desert.

It took another five minutes for Youngjae to throw open the door of his room and rush to the kitchen after finally realizing that a person other than himself managed to get into his second-floor, Seoul apartment. Armed with his trusty broomstick he grabbed while on the run, Youngjae took a deep breath before charging into the kitchen with his weapon raised in an offensive position he learned by watching baseball.

"Jae?" Youngjae stopped in his tracks, scanning the intruder with his eyes before muttering something along the lines of 'idiot' and 'dumbass', as a light shade of pink dusted his cheeks. He lowered his weapon to his side before raising an eyebrow at the figure which happened to be his boyfriend, Jung "cheeseball" Daehyun, who time and time again has managed to live up to his name.

"Dae, what on earth are you doing here at 7:20 in the morning?" the blonde stared at the other blonde holding a black frying pan in his left hand and a glass of milk in the other. Youngjae's eyebrows knitted together in confusion, "And why the hell are you shirtless?"

Daehyun rolled his eyes before laughing at the sight of the love of his life before him, "Well, I'm obviously making you breakfast. And I'm shirtless because it got hot and I had trouble opening the window and-wait. Why were you charging at me like some maniac a while ago?" The elder's eyes twinkled in amusement as he let his dark orbs travel on the younger's frame, noting how the plain white T-shirt hung loosely around Youngjae's neck, revealing his defined collar bones.

A couple of seconds later, Daehyun returned to his cooking, determined to finish so that he could finally get Youngjae to eat food other than ramen and the occasionall apple Jongup gave whenever he went apple picking with Zelo.

Youngjae shook his head with a smile before walking towards the teen in front of him. "For your information, I thought you were some burglar who was nice enought to cook me breakfast so I decided to arm myself just in case the burglar murdered me."

"Yeah, Jae, sure...I'm actually a nice burglar who made you breakfast because I care about your physical well-being and also because I love you and...Just. Yeah. Because." Youngjae laughed at Daehyun's failed explanation and decided to plant a small, sweet kiss on the other's cheek while making a move to backhug him. He saw Daehyun smile at his actions and proceeded to rest his chin on his hyung's bare shoulder.

"Thank you, Hyunnie," Youngjae whispered, lightly nudging the blonde's cheek with his nose, a small action that showed Daehyun how appreciative Youngjae was of what he did.

It was simple, yes, but that's what made it even more special. They both knew love didn't need to be filled with fancy words, or a plethora of gifts in order for the person they truly cared for to feel the love they had for them. Sometimes, all it needed was a simple gesture filled with love from the bottom of their hearts. Because really, all love needs is love.

Daehyun turned off the stove, putting the final pancake in the plate on top of the counter. Turning around, he placed his lips on Youngjae's forehead then finally on his soft, pillowly lips. He leaned back, grabbing the plate in one hand and Youngjae's hand in the other. He led him to the dining table and placed the blueberry-flavored pancakes on the table. "Morning, baby. I love you. Hope you enjoy your breakfast."

Youngjae watched the eye-smile inducing grin the other had on the other's face. He stabbed one of the pancakes stacked on top of each other in a lopsided manner, watching as Daehyun put butter on his pancake along with frozen blueberries while he grabbed the jug of syrup in the middle of the table next to the vase of lilies that wasn't present there this morning. "Thank you, Daehyunnie, for everything."

"You're welcome, now eat. The kitchen god has served you this amazing food and therefore you will eat it."

Youngjae laughed at his boyfriend's idiocy, one that he loved dearly. "Will do, almighty kitchen god. Oh, and Dae?"

Daehyun looked up from his own plate stacked with three pancakes, prepared to drizzle the sugary, brown syrup over them. "Mm?"

"I love you."  Hello, thank you for reading this ^_^Hope you enjoyed it! And sorry if there are any typos...Love, Jelly
