NINETEEN - Timeless Love (1/1)
Chapter NINETEEN.
Timeless Love. 24May2010 Monday, 4pm, Park
[3rd person's POV]"Young Saeng oppa, do you still remember the playground we met?" He looked at the empty benches and swings and shook his head."Sorry, my head hurts whenever I tried to think of the past.""Okay, stop thinking then. It will come to you in time to come." Tae Shin calmed him down and suggested that they should walk further down the park.At the end of the road stood the orphanage. The orphanage which they volunteered at few months ago.Tae Shin has decided to bring him to the orphanage to see if it helps him to recall the lost memories, and the kids welcomed him in enthusiastically like last time, pulling him into the art&craft room so that they can draw together..That portrait... Young Saeng stared hard at the portrait hanging in the middle of the room. It‘s a fine line sketch of Tae Shin. That reminded him, he seemed to have such a portrait of him at home too.But who was the artist? Who was the one who gave it to him?"Waeyo, Young Saeng oppa, did you recall something?" Tae Shin looked hopeful."Ani, I just... need the toilet." He turned his back and went out of the art&craft room.He excused himself to the toilet and he went there alone despite Tae Shin volunteering to show him the way. This is weird, how did I know the way when this is my first time here? He wondered.Maybe he did came here before in reality. Or in his dreams. He quickly dismissed those weird thoughts as he turned on the tap and the cold running water poured out onto his hands. He took the water to his face. A scene of the kids running around at the playground they were at earlier on flashed through his mind. What‘s that? Before he realizes it, another scene flashed past his mind. This time, he saw a girl drawing a portrait of him when he is sitting at the playground."Seo Ri." He blurted out.Wait, how did I know that name? Is that all the things that I have forgotten?"Young Saeng, are you okay? Why are you taking so long?" Tae Shin is knocking on the door."Ani, I was on the phone. Mian." He lied as he stepped out of the toilet, pretending to be typing away on his phone."Are you sure you're okay?"Young Saeng nodded with an reassuring smile."Do you want to go to another place?""Sure, where?" 5pm, Lotte World.[3rd person‘s POV]The two boarded a taxi and went straight to a familiar building which stood tall like a grand palace in England. The board reads: Lotte World."Let‘s go ice skating." Tae Shin pulled him in."I thought you couldn‘t skate." Young Saeng blurted out again, hang on, how did..."How did you know?" Tae Shin squealed in delight, "You remembered?!""I don‘t know how I know it. It just... Came to me, so I asked." Young Saeng explained awkwardly."Yes. I couldn‘t skate until you brought me here during our Valentines date and taught me how to. So I can actually skate now." Tae Shin beamed despite being slightly disappointed, "Come on."They went to the seats at the side to put on their skates. This time, Young Saeng couldn‘t tie his laces properly as he has no strength in his injured arm.Tae Shin saw it and bent down to help him tie it.Young Saeng shifted his leg uncomfortably. It rang a bell in Young Saeng‘s mind. He somehow remembered that he did that before for someone, but unsure of who was it.They held onto each other as they stepped into the ice rink, careful not to fall, especially when Young Saeng's hands were injured before that. The group's manager had initially objected at the idea of bringing him to ice skating as he was worried that he might injured his hand again and worsen its condition. But Hyun Joong oppa insisted that we should give it a try as it might be an important factor that might trigger his memory."Come on," Young Saeng tried to force a smile to hide his expression and led Tae Shin into the skating rink. Being the gentleman he always is, he felt that it should be his job to take care of the girl. The both of them went a few rounds around the rink, hand in hand, and Tae Shin suggested that she want to try skating on her own while Young Saeng can rest at a side if he is tired."No, I should stay here, and I can catch you if you fall." He rejected the offer and stood close to Tae Shin, his not injured hand outstretched as if always ready to catch her or give her any support.Tae Shin felt a glow of warmth from her heart. It has been long since they were like that. It make her wonder, if Young Saeng couldn't remember their past, it's also totally fine if they can stay this way.Tae Shin took another step forward, but her mind was occupied with thoughts and she didn't see someone coming in her way."Tae Shin, be careful!" Young Saeng gave her a warning which came almost too late, but he grabbed her in time and he pulled her back to him, as the both of them fell onto the ice."Ohmygod, Young Saeng oppa, are you okay?" She got up immediately to check his injured arm. She couldn't afford to injure him again because of her own carelessness."I am fine." He moved his arm away, but he did not get up from the ice. He held his other arm to his head as he rolled over on his side, seeming to be in pain, or perhaps, he had thought of something."Young Saeng oppa?" Tae Shin bent down beside him and held him to her, "Are you okay, I am worried."His closed eyes immediately opened and Tae Shin was shock that she almost fell back down onto the ice, but again, Young Saeng caught her in time and this time, he did not let go, but instead, he pulled her close to him and gave her a tight embrace."Tae Shin, I remembered. I remembered!" Two days later...
Jogyesa Temple. The couple came to a small temple in Seoul, which is also a well known attraction for both locals and tourists."Young Saeng oppa, thank god you remember everything. I promised myself I will come here to pray for you and to thank god if you recover!" Tae Shin dragged Young Saeng to the small yet magnificent building which stood in front of them. The two of them went inside and Tae Shin approached the cushions laid on the floor before the sculptures of the deities for prayers. Despite Young Saeng being a Christian, he promised Tae Shin that he would accompany her and they knelt down sincerely beside each other and did a bow to the deities."I want to love and protect her forever." Young Saeng whispered in his heart."I want him to be happy and healthy, and most importantly, not to forget me." Tae Shin prayed in her heart."Hey, what did you say?" Young Saeng asked as the both of them walked out of the temple."Do you know what's privacy? If I told you the secret between me and god, then it wouldn't come true anymore!" Tae Shin laughed and did not want to share it with him.The two walked past a tree which stood low and had many colourful ribbons hanging from its widespread branches. It was for couples to write their names and wishes there so that it will come true."Hey, do you want to try that?" Young Saeng smiled and prompted her over as they started writing down their wishes on a baby pink ribbon...[to be continued] ---------------------------------------sorry for the late update guys,
