007; “Darling! Our son-in-law is here!” a familiar voice shot into Haeji’s ears, causing her to shriek loudly. Her biggest nightmare was finally here. Her mother was standing right in front of the door with her father next to her who was sneaking his hand around her mother’s waist, looking loving as ever. Haeji quickly clutch her hands onto Chen. She really wanted to grab Chen and just run away from her biggest nightmare and her brother, Hyunjae was not helping at all. He was snickering upon watching the worried expression on Haeji’s face. “Shut up, help me here.” Haeji hissed, but Hyunjae simply shrugged, walking straight to their parents who were grinning. “Why you’re holding onto me?” Chen chuckled and asked her as she was still clutching onto him. Embarrassed by her actions, she quickly pull her hands away, dusting off nonexistent dust of her jeans to cover up. “It’s my reaction when I heard my mom’s voice.” Haeji tried to laughed but it came out like a snort instead. “Hey, chill, okay? Your mom looks cool.” Chen flashed one of his signature smile at her parents who were still waiting for them. Haeji sighed with the hope that her parents won’t embarrass her in front of him. However, she knew that she had to prepare for the unexpected. “Haeji, what’s taking you so long! Come and greet mom and dad.” Hyunjae shouted since he was at the front door, hugging his parents as if they had not seen each other for a long time. “Geez, so pushy.” Haeji was annoyed and Chen simply laughed as the two siblings bickered. Chen found that Haeji’s mother was no different than his own mother. She was extremely happy when Chen finally greeted her while Haeji’s father simply smiled with a closed-mouthed smile at him. Haeji hugged her parents and her father patted her head, “You grew up so much, darling.” before letting the couple inside the house. Hyunjae who had entered the house earlier was laying down on the couch while watching a variety show on the television. Being the annoying little sister, Haeji walked up to him and slapped his stomach, causing the older one to groan in pain. “Manners, Kwon Hyunjae! We have a guest in the house.” Haeji mocked his actions as what he had done in her apartment earlier when he first met Chen. “Gosh, so annoying. Go upstairs and sleep with your teddy bears.” Haeji gasped and looked at her older brother with wide eyes. He just did not spill one of her big secrets that even Chanyeol who befriended with her for a long time didn’t know. Haeji quickly turn her body to face Chen and then sighed in relief when she realised that her mother was making Chen busy with all her questions. “You’re the worst person ever.” She hissed at her brother who seemed like he did not even care about what was happening to Haeji. Hyunjae’s eyes were glued to the television which was right in front of him. “Thanks for the compliment.” said Hyunjae flatly. He gestured with his hands, asking Haeji to go away from him and his eyes were still stuck on the television, not Haeji. Haeji groaned in frustration as she stomped her way back to Chen. “Mom, Hyunjae is picking on me.” Haeji complained. “Sshh, Haeji, I am trying to get to know your boyfriend here, don’t bug me and Hyunjae, stop picking on your sister!” Her mother shouted in a voice like a foghorn and Chen was sure that Haeji’s mother’s voice can be heard from 5 miles away. Chen smiled apologetically at her and she lazily smiled back. She threw herself onto the couch as her parents sat across her and Chen took a seat next to her. “They are cool.” Chen whispered to her and she looked at him in surprised. “You’re kidding me. Just wait for a few minutes, you’ll find out how weird they are.” She replied quietly. Hyunjae who was laying down on the couch was nagged by their parents and were ordered to go back to his room, claiming that it was the time for them to have a bonding time with their daughter and her boyfriend. Hyunjae grumbled and then threw a small cushion into his sister’s face. He hurriedly run to her room, just before Haeji started to wail and cuss at him. “Son of aㅡ” Haeji was about to wail and curse at her older brother but her mother was scowling at her defiantly. “Sorry.” She murmured as she lowered down her head, just to find Chen smiling, patted her head and said, “Cute.” “Aww, darling! Look at the two of them! It’s just like us back in those years.” Her mother squealed upon seeing the scene between her daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend right in front of her eyes. Her father nodded in agreement and then added, “Oh, I miss old times.” “Darling, talk to Chen while I’ll make some tea for you guys. Don’t bother to ask Haeji to come with me, Chen. She is probably lazy.” said Haeji’s mother once she saw Chen nudging Haeji, telling her to follow her mother to the kitchen. Haeji looked at her
