Caught in the Action (1/1)
4:30 AM.“Just. One. More. Video.”Although her eyelids were threatened to fall and close shut forever, Jisun forced them open as she clicked on a video titled: “Yunjae is real!!!”She tipped her coffee mug up to her mouth, unaware that it had already been empty for the past two hours. Her drooping eyes were glued onto the screen of her laptop. This would be the thirtieth video that she was trying to get inspiration from for her latest Yunjae fanfic. The song of the video was “Crazy Love.” Jisun already found herself bobbing her head to the music and giggled when she saw the clip of her Yunnie cornering Jaejoong up against the telephone booth. She could still remember how embarrassed they were about that scene.“That’s it!!” she suddenly shouted. Ripping out a piece of paper, she began to furiously scribble down some notes. After a few minutes, she put her pencil down and studied her handiwork.Jaejoong paid little attention when he saw a shadow fall before him, thinking it was just the next person wanting to use the phone. He was just about to ring up Junsu when he suddenly heard the voice he was hoping he’d never have to hear again.“Kim Jaejoong.”He felt the phone fall out of his cold hand.“Jaejoong.”He shivered, the voice affecting him in ways he really didn’t like.“Jaejoong, please come out. I really need to talk to you.”Bracing himself since he had no other way out, he forced himself to turn around and face the man he had been trying to avoid for the past two weeks. The hurt expression on Yunho’s face nearly broke Jaejoong’s heart. “Jae…” Yunho sighed in relief as he tried to reach out and hug Jaejoong, but the other man pushed him gently away.“Jae, why?” Yunho breathed, the agony in his voice piercing into Jaejoong’s conscience. “Why did you leave me? Weren’t you….happy?”Jaejoong could feel the tears threatening, but he forced himself not to cry. He had to be strong for the both of them. “Yunho, I’m sorr—“His words caught in his throat when Yunho suddenly slammed his hands on either side of the telephone booth. “Dammit, Jaejoong. I didn’t come all the way out here to just get empty apologies.”Jaejoong had to lower his head to avoid Yunho’s fierce gaze, but Yunho pushed his head back up. “Jae, please tell me the truth. Why did you leave? I told you I loved you! Can’t you see that I really do? I’m sorry for our past, I really am. I’m trying my best now to make it up to you, but you keep running away!”This time, Jaejoong could not stop the tears from falling. Yunho didn’t understand; he never would understand. “Jae…” Yunho whispered gently, wiping the tears off Jaejoong’s face with love and care. “Jae, stop hurting yourself. Stop hurting me. Please….come back. I…..I need you. I can’t live without you in my life.”Jaejoong closed his eyes when he saw Yunho leaning in nearer to him. His mind was shouting at him to move, to stop everything before it happened, but for some reason, his body would not listen to him. It was as if his own body wanted Yunho now. His soul craved for the man named Jung Yunho, and no matter how hard he tried to still his feelings, they always found a way back to him. When Yunho’s soft but demanding lips met his own and he found himself eagerly replying, he knew he lost.Jisun smiled in content once she had finished reading over what she had written. She would revise her completed chapter tomorrow night. As for now, she really needed to get to sleep. It was freaking 5:00 AM in the morning, and she had an appointment with DBSK tomorrow at 9 AM since they were going to be live broadcasting on the variety show, Love Bye Love.Oh well. Three hours of sleep was not the worst she had.Besides, all those DBSK funny moments and Yunjae videos were SO worth the time.Smiling sleepily, she lazily threw her writing into her bag, determined to proofread while DBSK was recording.
“Hurry, Jisun! You only have ten minutes left!”“Almost done, Director!” Jisun shouted back, feeling irritated at how she was forced to be rushed. At the moment, she was in the middle of drying Junsu’s hair. Later, she was going to gel his bangs to the side, giving him his classic angelic look.“JISUN NOONA!!”“AHH!!! Jaejoong-sshi!!” Jisun yelped as she nearly dropped the blow-dryer when Jaejoong had sneakily crept up behind her and shouted to scare her.“HI!!” he said cutely before disappearing again. Shaking her head, she had never figured why in her three years of working with DBSK Jaejoong would do such childish things before her.“Jisun, noona, on behalf of my hyung, I apologize,” Junsu said with an impish grin on his face.“Fufufu, no need for you to apologize, Junsu-sshi,” she replied as she styled his hair expertly.“There! You’re done!” she said once Junsu’s hair was to her liking.“Thanks, Jisun noona!” Junsu said as he leapt from his chair to join his hyungs.“Jisun noona!!!” she heard Jaejoong whine behind her. Seriously, the real Jaejoong was almost the complete opposite of the Jaejoong she had just written about last night.“What is it now, Jaejoong-sshi?” she sighed as she cleaned her tools.“I messed up my hair. I was wondering if you could fix it?” he said sheepishly.Jisun glanced behind her and gave an exasperated sigh when she saw a few spikes of Jaejoong’s hair sticking out the wrong way.“Honestly, you’re how old?” she said as she went closer to him to fix his hair.“24, Jisun noona!” Jaejoong said happily as he watched her smooth his hair down.“Pfft. Still a little boy,” she teased as she gave his forehead a playful smack once his hair was perfect again. Although she wrote intimate scenes about him and Yunho, in real life, she treated him like a younger friend of hers.Suddenly, Jisun could feel Jaejoong’s hands wrap around her waist, trying to pull her closer.“Jaejoong-sshi, what are you doing?” she said in shock. At first, she thought Jaejoong was merely teasing her, but the firmness of his grip and the lack of teasing on his face spoke otherwise. He was staring at her so intensely; it was making her extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention the position they were in was far more intimate than what between friends, let alone coworkers, should be.“Jisun,” Jaejoong whispered, for once not adding on the “noona” part. Jisun was beginning to worry about what was happening when Jaejoong began to lean closer to her.“OK! YOU GUYS ARE UP!!!” the Director shouted, breaking the awkward moment.Jisun immediately wriggled out of Jaejoong’s hold before scooting him out the door. Once he had departed, Jisun shut the door to the dressing room and sighed heavily. What in the world just happened?! The moment she was alone, Jisun grabbed her writing from last night, found a pencil and a quiet corner, and began to proofread. She had to admit, whatever happened between her and Jaejoong a few moments ago was definitely weird, but she decided to ignore it and blamed it on the stress.Instead, she occasionally tried to recall what some people had commented on her story. The mere thought of her supportive fans of her writing brought lots of fuzzy happiness inside of her and she smiled to herself. If it weren’t for all the love and encouragement from her subscribers, Jisun knew her writing would not be where it was today.“Good morning, Korea! We are so happy that you are watching Love Bye Love with us! This is Cho Leegak and Kim Seohwan, as your MCs!”Jisun glanced up at the tv that was broadcasting the live session before continuing in her work. Sometimes, she would listen to what was going on in the show, but for the most part, she was submerged in her Yunjae world. After about thirty minutes, Jisun rose from her seat to get herself a glass of water.“So, the next topic is for Youngwoong and U-Know. In the past few months, the popularity of the Yunjae couple has skyrocketed.”Jisun’s ears pricked up as she poured water into a disposable cup. She could see Jaejoong covering his mouth as he laughed and Yunho smiling but placing his hand dangerously far up Jaejoong’s thigh. She made a mental note to include that in her story sometime; it was too cute not to.“Yes, we are quite aware of how popular Yunjae is,” Yunho said politely as fans screamed their lungs out.“We are even aware that there are fanfics being written about us. At the suggestion of some of our fans, we have even tried to read some stories written by a certain author named YunjaeCompany.”Jisun suddenly spat out all the water she was drinking.“Ah, yes! We’ve heard of that author as well! That person’s stories about Yunjae are extremely popular among the fans, are they not?”Jisun didn’t know whether to blush happily at the screaming of the fans or go pale at the fact that her clients had just confessed that they had read her stories. She knew her writing was famous, but she had no idea that they would one day reach the actual, live characters. If the whole company knew who was behind all the most famous romance stories of Yunjae, she would die of embarrassment…
“Jisun Noona, did you watch us?” Jaejoong called happily the moment DBSK was backstage.“C’mon, Jae hyung, leave the poor woman alone,” Yunho said teasingly as he grabbed his hyung by the waist to pull him away. Jisun almost did a mini dance before them when she caught sight of where Yunho’s hand was.
“Wah, this chapter was so good!”“YunjaeCompany, I love this story! But I’m so worried about Jae! Why can’t he just trust Yunho?”“UPDATE soon, please, Author-sshi!”Jisun’s heart warmed when she read some of the comments for her latest chapter that she updated about an hour ago. It was late in the afternoon, but because DBSK had a photo shoot, she had to stay with them and style their appearances. At the moment, they were all busy taking pictures. Or so she thought.“Jisun noona, whatcha doing?”“AAHH!!”“Omo, sorry, Jisun noona, didn’t mean to scare you.”“One of these days, Jaejoong-sshi, one of these days,” Jisun muttered darkly as she picked herself up from the ground and Jaejoong grabbed her laptop to hand it back to her.“Yah, Jaejoong-sshi, can I have my laptop back? Aren’t you supposed to be shooting photos right now?” she asked as she held her hand out for her computer. Jaejoong ignored her and he just stared at the screen blankly. That’s when she remembered she had not closed her last browser window. Her face paled immediately.“J-Jaejoong-sshi, give that back!” she hissed as she tried to wrench the computer from him, but he whisked it out of her reach, an impish grin forming on his face.“Jisun noona, what is this?” he asked in a mocking tone as he pointed to the extremely obvious page of Yunjae fanfics. All under her username, YunjaeCompany.“It’s….I’m just browsing!! I heard you talk about this author on the variety show earlier today, and I wanted to check it out myself!” Jisun said hastily as she made up the lie on the spot.“Owh…is that so? Then why does it say your username is YunjaeCompany?” he asked as he pointed to it on the screen. Jisun knew she was dead dead dead…“Don’t you dare tell a soul, Jaejoong-sshi!” she warned, but Jaejoong merely grinned back at her.“Sure, I’ll keep your secret, YunjaeCompany. But it’s going to come at a price.”Jisun inwardly groaned; of course Jaejoong would bargain about something like this.“Seriously? I’m not that wealthy, ya know?” she said exasperatedly.Jaejoong chuckled.“Do you know how dirty some of these scenes are with me and Yunho hyung? That’s going to take a lot of bribing for me to keep quiet. Especially since we clearly do not have any feelings for each other besides brotherly affection,” Jaejoong smirked as Jisun blushed. She could not believe she was getting lectured by a kid three years younger than her.“What do you want?” she asked, slightly fearful that the others would find out. How would they look at her the same? She might even lose her job if they protested against working with someone who was writing about them being gays.Jaejoong continued to smirk as he suddenly leaned closer to her face. She instinctively flinched back, but he just got closer.“Jaejoong-sshi, what the hell—““I want you to be my girlfriend.”
