Post-It Notes (1/1)
Post-It NotesAfter their wedding and their month long honeymoon (don’t ask me how they did it, they just did), Taemin and Naeun were launched back into the world of show business and were once again busy with their schedules. The only difference now was that instead of going back to their dorms with their members, they went home to their apartment, except if they had an early morning schedule as a group, then they would go to the dorms. For the first two weeks, Taemin and Naeun seemed to miss each other in the morning and so, one would leave a post-it note by the bedside table, if they were to leave first. They had found it annoying at first, to only communicate through pieces of paper, but after a couple of days, they began to think that it was quite romantic, and would leave notes all throughout the house, you know, like little drawings from Naeun that Taemin would find adorable, or ‘I love you’ post-it notes from Taemin that Naeun thought he just plastered on like a little kid on everything he could lay his hands on.On this particular morning, Naeun was the only one who had a schedule. Taemin had a free day and his wife had insisted over dinner the previous day that he was not to follow her around and act like her manager because the last time he did, he got her and the members lost and they had to repeatedly apologise for causing a disruption in filming. He pouted of course, but eventually gave in, agreeing that he needed to catch up on some sleep and he could maybe play a few video games if he had the time.He had woken up at 9 o’clock in the morning to darkness, and it wasn’t because the curtains were still drawn. It was cloudy and it was raining hard. This didn’t dampen his mood, although, he wished that Naeun was home so that they could cuddle in bed and watch movies. He looked over to the bedside table and found no sticky note. He rubbed his eyes and checked again, but there was nothing. Now, Taemin was a bit sad, but he immediately perked up when he walked into the bathroom and found the sticky note plastered to the mirror.Stop pouting, Oppa! I would never forget to leave you without a note…Good Morning! I think it will be raining when you wake up, so stay indoors and don’t try to do anything stupid that would make you sick, ahrasso? I think I’ll be home early today, so wait for me? I love you, Oppa!Taemin took a quick shower and then got dressed into some slacks and a tee. He went downstairs to make himself some coffee and toast.Pre-prepared coffee for my Nampyeon!Just boil the water in the kettle and pour…Enjoy your coffee! He did as he was told and then tasted the coffee. Just as he thought, it tasted very good because it was made from Naeun’s love. He made himself some toast and spread some jam on it in the shape of a heart. He took a photo of it and then sent it to Naeun, thanking her for making his coffee. He padded over to the lounge and saw that she had placed a note on the television.Mianhae, Oppa…Can you do something for me today? Can you please do the laundry?Taemin walked to their bedroom and found that she had already complied their dirty laundry into the basket. He picked it up and took it over to the washing machine and placed them inside, pouring in the fabric softener and the soap, then turning the machine on. Satisfied at the job well done, and looking forward to sitting on the couch, he clapped his hands. When he faced the door, he found another sticky note.Gomawo, Oppa…Can you do another thing for me?Can you please change the bed sheets? The new linen is in the closet. This didn’t deter Taemin. If it was for his buin, he would happily oblige to all her requests. Besides, it was a small favour. He still had plenty of time to watch TV. He went to the closet and got out the pillow cases, bed sheet and quilt cover. He undressed the bed and put the sheets into another basket for the second batch of laundry that he hope he would remember to do. He was able to do the pillows fine, and he managed to put the white bed sheet in place without any creases, but the quilt gave him trouble. He couldn’t get it to become flat, and the corners just would not stay in place. After forty-five minutes of trying, he eventually got it to a semblance of normality. It was imperfect, but he thought that it was okay.Taemin walked back into the lounge and sat down on the couch. He picked up the remote and found that it had another sticky note on it.One more thing, Oppa?Could you, maybe, vacuum the house?I’ll be very grateful to you…Taemin could just picture her when she wrote this. She would have a cute pout on her face, as she punctuated each word with cursive writing, and little love hearts and an adorable kitty cat on the corner holding up a ‘fighting!’ sign. He didn’t think it was possible, but Naeun managed to put aegyo into her writing. It was like he could just visualise her giving him orders. He was slightly peeved, since he knew that it would take him most of the day, but he got to work anyway. He did the lounge room, even the kitchen, he did their bedroom, but halfway through it, he somehow managed to blow the fuse and break the vacuum. He didn’t know if his eyes were playing a trick on him but he could swear that the carpet had two shades. The part he finished vacuuming was a clean white, while the other half seemed like an off white cream to the point of light gray. At 4.30 in the afternoon, he sat himself on the couch, and then fell asleep.Taemin woke up at six to someone kissing him on the lips. When that person pulled away, he smirked, but he didn’t open his eyes.“Yah! Are you trying to take advantage of a sleeping person?”“Ani. I was just kissing my husband.”Taemin puckered his lips again and Naeun gave him another kiss, but when she tried to pull away, Taemin enclosed his arms around her and deepened the kiss.“Thank you.”“For what?”“For being Superman and cleaning the house…”“You’re welcome…Is it still raining?”Naeun lay her head on his chest and nodded. She was still sitting down on the floor.“Come here…”Taemin opened his arms, and made room for her on the couch.“Cuddle with me…it’s raining and I missed you…”Naeun moved into his arms and lay on the couch, facing him, but they both had their eyes closed.“Tell me about your day, Oppa…”“You know, the usual thing…I did some laundry, then changed the bed sheets, then vacuumed the house and managed to break the vacuum in the process…nothing much…What did you do today?”“I went to a radio interview and got asked about my husband…”“What did you say about him?”“That he was at home cleaning…”“What did they say?”“You have a new nickname…house husband Lee Taemin…are you mad?”“No. I think it suits me.”“Really?”“Eo…it show people how much I’ve really changed. From a person who didn’t cook and wash the dishes, to someone who cleans a whole apartment…Uri Naeun-ah changed me for the better…”“And Oppa changed me too…”
