Chapter One (1/1)

Today was a special day for EXO. After having busy and long schedules, they were finally getting one whole day for a break. While Kai insisted they spend the day sleeping, he was dragged out of bed by an energetic Luhan who announced that today was finally the day that they were going to find out "SuLay"'s secret. Kai knew what that was all about. Luhan had been obsessed over the fact that Lay and Suho were possibly in a relationship and hadn't told them. Of course, it bothered the other members too but not as much as it did to Luhan.While D.O was preparing their breakfast, Luhan rambled about all the plans he had thought of so far to catch them. It just happened that the Suho and Lay were not awake yet. And while Luhan went on and on about his plan, the other members seemed pretty indifferent about it."Can't we just let it be?" Xiumin asked as he began to eat from the plate placed before him."Yeah, hyung, aren't you making this a too big deal?" Kai said, hoping that he would be able to sneak back to sleep after the breakfast was over."Big deal? We have to find out whether they are together and why they want to hide it from us. I mean-""Can't we just ask them?" Sehun interrupted him.There was a silence and the other 8 members immediately backed him up.Luhan shook his head. "That won't work. If they really want to hide it from us then they won't tell us.""But they are very honest people, they won't lie," Tao said as if he was super confident that the two wouldn't lie."Come on, hyung," Baekhyun tried. "We can give it a try."Luhan pouted. "Fine."Grumpily he began to eat his breakfast as well. He turned up to see Sehun, who was sitting in front of him, flash him his rare smile and Luhan couldn't help smiling as well. And as he went back to his meal, he didn't feel quite so mad anymore.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There were many reasons as to why the members would be suspicious about the two been a couple. There was once a time when all the EXO members were gathered in the living room and while channel surfing, they happened to stop in one of those really cheesy movies which guys would be embarrassed to watch. It came as a quiet surprise to them when they found that two of the members among them had already watched this movie together. Though they asked them why, how and when they even got the tie to watch the movie, they got no answer.  It wasn't only that it was a cheesy romance movie.  There was also the fact that the drama seemed too exaggerated and none of their types of movie either. It was a wonder to the members how they managed to sit through that 2 hours together just watching it. Unless they didn't.Lay had always been hard-working. He was one of the members who stayed back to practice in their practice room. Some days he would be the only one and during those days, he would use the excuse of forgetting his watch to come home whenever he felt like it. Luhan, who had been at the kitchen one night to drink water, was surprised to hear noises in the dorm so late at night. That was the day that he found out that Suho had been picking up Lay from his practices every night and wouldn't got to sleep unless he's sure that Lay's gone to bed. This was really a surprise for the members. Not only did they not know that Lay stayed out till so late but they didn't know that Suho took such good care of Lay either.The members were all really close to one another. Off stage, they felt comfortable enough to call them by nicknames or their real names.While this was true, the members had never heard Suho call Lay by his nickname, XingXing, ever. Chanyeol who once just happened to overhear one of the two's conversations had heard Suho addressing Lay by that pet name. It didn't really bother them. But it did bother them that Suho couldn't call him that in front of the members while he did it when he was alone with Lay.Nearly all of the members in the group were in a relationship with each other. They had never tried to keep it a secret from the others and were open about it to one another. The members accepted their relationship warmly so they couldn't figure out why Sulay had wanted to keep it to themselves.When the two had finally come down for breakfast, the other members were done. D.O was cleaning the dishes while Kai, who didn't seem sleep-deprived at all, was accompanying him or bugging him as it would have looked like."Is there any food left for us?" Suho asked sitting down the empty seat."Why are guys up so late?" Chen asked."We... uh... slept late," Lay answered as D.O brought them the leftover food. The members looked at one another and snickered. The two remained oblivious to this."So, what are we doing today?" Suho asked, looking at the members and then he frowned as the members began giggling. "What's so funny?""Oh, nothing, nothing," They brushed it off and Kris rolled his eyes as Suho tried to get the joke."So, we have something to ask you two," Baekhyun said mischievously. Suho and Lay exchanged looks, realizing that they were definitely up to something."Us?" Lay asked uncertainly. Baekhyun smiled and nudged Luhan who looked at him in surprise and threw him a what-do-you-want-me-to-do look. The two began to have a silent nudge fight and the other members face-palmed. It was Tao who finally asked the question which they wanted to ask."Are you guys together?"This question took the two by such surprise that Lay ended up choking on his food and Suho dropped his spoon. While Lay drank water and clamed down, Suho asked. "Together how?""You know, like me and Kris gege?" Tao said eagerly. The members waited for an answer excitedly. Suho and Lay exchanged panicked looks and for a brief second the members worried that their assumption was wrong."We... um," Suho began but his face was red and he seemed to be having trouble saying what he wanted to. "...Not really.""WHAT?" The members were so shocked because there was no way that they could be wrong, right? The way they acted they sure acted like one. Or maybe it wasn't...Suddenly, Lay stood up and hiding his flushed face, ran took his room. Suho sighed. He looked nervous- and embarrassed- and was caressing neck and the members knew immediately that there was something wrong."It's just that-" Suho began. Then he shrugged and said three simple words. "I like him.""But he doesn't like you?" D.O asked, his eyes huge.Suho shrugged us shoulder. "I don't know. Sometimes I feel as if he likes him but other times he seems so different.""So, you're telling me," Luhan began slowly. "That even after al this time, you haven't got the guts to confess to him?""It's not really that,' Suho said desperately."He probably would have said yes, hyung," Chen said."Yeah," Baekhyun put in. "Did you see his reaction to our question?"'That's different," Suho said defensively."I guess somebody doesn't want to confess to their love of life," Sehun said."Sehun..." Suho began weakly. But then Kai stepped in as well."I knew Suho Hyung was always a coward but I didn't really think it was this way.""Kai," Suho warned him."You better confess to him today," Kris chirped in as well. "Isn't the timing perfect?""I seriously thought you guys were together!" Chanyeol was saying. "I was even planning to make a Sulay fan club once you guys officially tell us."'Sulay fan club?" Baekhyun asked, his voice full of amusement. "You have to make me the president!"As Baekyeol high-fived, Suho looked at the ground anxiously."It will be fine, hyung," Chen patted him comfortingly. "There's no way he'd say no."Suho nodded and he turned to go. As he left, the members couldn't help smiling. They realized that before the night ends, he really would have confessed to the younger.Just a pity that there assumptions were wrong.
