ii :: new additions (1/1)

A little past noon in the next day, Baekhyun woke up feeling slightly groggy, mainly because he went to sleep so late the night prior.After staring up at his bedroom's ceiling for a few seconds to 'come back to life' as he would say, Baekhyun pushed his comforter off his body, throwing his legs over the side of the bed, the tips of his toes just barely touching the material of the carpet. Leaning slightly to his left, he picked his phone up off of the nightstand, unplugging it in the process.Upon turning it on Baekhyun saw a good morning text from his mom, explaining that she would be home early from work to welcome the Parks to their home. On most days, the elder would finish work at around four in the afternoon, so if she was coming home early he would need to get his room clean within the next two-or-so hours.The male tossed his phone back on his covers after putting it to sleep and stood up, stretching his arms above his head, his abdomen slightly to the back, and his legs straight up from his tippie-toes.Walking a few steps to the bedroom's bathroom, the bones in Baekhyun's body cracked with even the slightest movements. Often time, he would joke with his mom about having arthritis because of how much his bones cracked, although he had no real health conditions that caused the action.Leaving the door open since he was home alone, Baekhyun answered nature's calls before changing into comfy clothes—some gray joggers with a plain white v-neck and a slightly oversized hoodie—and brushing his teeth, leaving his hair as the mess it was. To clean his face, he splashed some water on the surface of his skin before putting on a cleansing mask, one of the many he stored in the cabinet under his sink.While washing the excess liquid off his fingers, the short male's tummy grumbled as a sign Baekhyun should eat some food—which with the teen gladly complied.Establishing he was ready for the day by looking around his bathroom and making sure he had everything, Baekhyun slapped some socks on and made his way to the kitchen, slipping multiple times in the process.There wasn't much to eat in the pantry, so the male turned to eating the leftover fried chicken in the fridge from the previous night.He could heat it up in the microwave, only using about thirty seconds of his precious time, but being the impatient barbarian that he was, Baekhyun ate the meat cold, straight out of the fridge.Grabbing two drumsticks to take with him, Baekhyun headed back down the hallway to his room, taking bites every few seconds.The short male stood in his own doorway, scanning over the miscellaneous junk in his room. He could clean this in less than thirty minutes for sure.He would, of course, need to take his face mask off first, though.

———

Roughly fifty minutes later, Baekhyun found himself sitting on his own bed, looking through a photo album he found under the bed opposite his own.It was less of a photo album and more of a scratch book. The two took turns making pages when they were little—Baekhyun only five while Baekbeom was seven. Their handwriting was equally as messy, barely eligible.There were pictures from vacations, family gatherings the two were obliged to go to, first days of preschool, and more along those lines.Baekhyun missed Baekbeom so fucking much.There were times when the male would never even have thoughts about his brother, but on days like this, when he found remnants of the two together, it would feel like the same days back when he passed all over again. His mood would be deteriorated for the rest of the day—and oftentimes, several days following.When the photos started to blur together and small, dark dots started to form on the paper, Baekhyun knew it was time to stop and divert his mind onto something else. The male closed the book-like object and slid it back under the unused bed, slowly backing away and admiring the—now—cleanly demeanor of his room. It was nice having things less clustered and picture frames dusted.The male jumped when he heard the front door of the house opening, followed by his mom's voice notifying she was home and for him to come greet the newcomers. Baekhyun swiftly ran into his bathroom, almost slipping over his socks if it wasn't for catching the doorknob in the process. He quickly checked in the mirror to make sure there was no sign of his previous crying—his eyes were slightly puffy, but nothing else made it obvious—before heading into the foyer.Upon seeing a new figure in her peripheral vision, Baekhyun's mom turned to her son with a happy smile that turned into a scowl in a matter of seconds. "Baekhyun, dear, what are you wearing?"Said male looked down to his clothes before smiling back up his mom. "Clothes," he retorted.The lady mouthed 'smart ass' before putting back on a smile and turning to the two new people. "Mr. Park, Chanyeol, meet my son, Baekhyun.""Nice to meet you, son," the older of the two greeted with a kind smile—not too toothy, but not too deflated either. The perfect smile to give as a first impression to Baekhyun."Hello, Baekhyun-sunbaenim," the other figure said with a grin that was too toothy.In the background, Baekhyun hears his mother scolding the tall teen about formalities being unnecessary, yet Baekhyun attention was fully on the youngest in the room. Those ears were something—not something ugly or something remarkable, but something familiar. Something that put a lump of rocks inside Baekhyun's stomach, making his body tell him to turn away and stop staring. Park Chanyeol looked so familiar, but nothing else about him was. His voice wasn't, his build wasn't, his hair wasn't. But those eyes and those ears and that awkward yet endearing smile were.Redirecting his attention his mom, Baekhyun joined back into the conversation."I'll go make us some food for tonight," the sole lady in the house said with such joy over the new presences. "Show Chanyeol to your room, Baekhyun."The small nodded before turning to walk away—not before turning around to see the giant picking up his bags to follow.The two walked in silence down the hallway until they came to the end of the house with Baekhyun's room and the guest room—the rooms directly beside each other. "Your dad will stay in there," the shorter of the two said, pointing the closed door just a little further down from his own, "and you'll stay in here." Baekhyun pushed the door open before solemnly walking up to his bed and sitting down to indicate that was his bed—although, upon seeing the other body in the room plop down on Baekbeom's bed like he owned the place, Baekhyun regretted not giving Chanyeol his own bed in order for him to protect his hyung's things from the noticeably clumsy teen."Why're your eyes red?" a deep voice broke the shirt yet awkward silence filling the cool air.The acknowledged male redirected his vision from his feet to the taller and glared out of natural instinct. "It doesn't concern you," he replied shakily.The younger's eyes turned gentle in a matter of milliseconds and his grin fell. "I didn't mean it to be like that. I just...."Upon hearing no further detail, Baekhyun scoffed and stood up from his bed. "Just don't mind me." With those words he left the room, and further—unnoticeably—the house.

———

Chanyeol sat on the bed, eyes still on the door Baekhyun left out of seconds ago before blinking and moving it across the room.He didn't quite understand what made the few month older—as his dad's new boss told him on the way—so defensive. His voice hadn't been mean. In fact, Chanyeol thought he had said it in a way that sounded more concerned than anything, but maybe he didn't perceive it correctly.Whatever the case may have been, Chanyeol would have to apologize later."Chanyeol," his father called from what he assumed was the front of the house, "come here a minute!"The male heaved himself off the bed and weaved his way down the hall and into a large living area with a sofa across from a love-seat with two recliners in front of a fireplace. A large television was set in a cabinet on the wall across from the lengthy leather couch surrounded by multiple DVDs and various pictures set in picture frames. Only a lamp was on, but it was enough to make Chanyeol realize that he was was in the wrong room—it was empty, after all.Leaving the way he came, Chanyeol turned to venture further into the house, lucky when he looked into a room just in time to see a moving shadow. He walked towards the movements only to realize it was a kitchen."Yes?" he asked, catching both adults attention.The woman turned to him with a kind smile, different from the one a few minutes before. "What foods do you like? I have a couple hours, so I can try anything—although, let me tell you, that son of mine says I'm a bad cook."The teen smiled at her before laughing quietly, "I'm sure he's wrong, but I'll eat anything. Serve what you're comfortable with."Ms. Byun scoffed before turning toward a drawer beside the kitchen's internal oven, pulling out of few tiny slips of paper which Chanyeol could only assume were recipes. "And people say women are indecisive," she mumbled under her breath.A sudden yet distant rumble of thunder brought the three figure's eyes move to a nearby window, only to be met by forming storm clouds, only a small bit of sky left showing."Chanyeol and I should head out to get the rest of our things before it starts raining," the  tallest in the room—Mr. Park, who was only taller than Chanyeol by roughly two inches—said.The other two nodded and the kid of group smiled at Ms. Byun as a farewell and followed his dad to the front door. Just before they were going to exit the expensive but small home, they heard a yell from the kitchen telling the two the door would be left unlocked and to come right in on their own.Chanyeol stepped through the doorframe first while his dad acknowledged the lady before following the younger and closing the door behind.As he was walking down the walkway, Chanyeol got a good look of the yard. Although everything around was getting progressively darker due to the gathering of dark clouds above, he could see how well kept the yard was—most likely by workers. The grass was a healthy green, cut to a perfect height with a few ground mushrooms every here and there adding a sense of style to the enviornment. Framing the house were bushes settled on top of stoned ground with pine straw underneath. Large boulders surrounded the greenery.Square in the middle of the yard was a oak tree with a carved stone in front of it, but before Chanyeol could get a look of what was on it, he had to get in his father's car.Upon cranking the car up, Mr. Park started conversation by asking, "How is it so far?"Chanyeol grinned at his dad with a slight nod before answering, "Really nice.""Oh yeah?" the older male said before turning onto the driveway. "How's her son—Baekhyun, was it?""Yeah it's Baekhyun," Chanyeol replied. "He's okay. We didn't really talk, so I don't know what he's like exactly.""Well," Mr. Park started, with a fatherly, reassuring smile, "if it's anything to you, Ms. Byun said he's really friendly and talkative when you get to know him.""Okay," Chanyeol replied, unknowingly smiling with the hope he'd make friends with the kid. "Thanks.""Just try to be nice," the parent said, putting a hand on his son's leg and squeezing slightly.Chanyeol's eyes were set outside, through the window, at the scenery as the two drove down the rural highway. "I always do."

———

Baekhyun opened and closed the front door as quietly as he could, so his mom wouldn't know he left, and made his way towards his own car his mom bought him after his sixteenth birthday. Normally, at times like this, the male would drive around, sometimes going into stores or just walking down the street, until he could get his emotions in check.It's not the was mad at Chanyeol. He understood that the taller was only trying to be nice in asking what why his eyes were like that, but occasionally, Baekhyun could be short tempered. Most people would be over a death by this point, and at most times, Baekhyun was. However, he did have occasional bursts of emotion about it—whether it be anger, sadness, or any of the sort. Normally it started with being sad followed by people bringing up the fact that he was sad which would make him defensive, disposition coming out as anger.That's why it was just best to always leave the situation before it's escalated and Baekhyun has made himself look like a total dick.It wasn't long before the male found himself outside his favorite café, a sudden urge to get some sweets arising in his stomach. Sure, his mother was making food at home, but it wouldn't hurt to get just a small snack. With that in mind, the short male parked his car in the small lot out front before turning off the ignition and jumping out, locking the doors twice so the horn would go off.There were a few cars parked nearby, but Baekhyun hoped that inside wouldn't be too busy.An unexpected burst of thunder caused the teen to trip where he was—although, he luckily put his opposite foot out quick enough to catch himself. With a sudden rush of adrenaline in his veins, Baekhyun looked up to the sky to see dark clouds forming together, some already precipitating a little west. If his trip was made quick, he could probably have made it out in time before the weather got very bad.Quickly opening the door, Baekhyun was met with the cool air conditioning and riddance of humidity. The sweet smell of pastries mixed with the scent off coffee beans engulfed the male, setting his mood more at ease."Hello," the cashier greeted once he walked up to the counter. "What can I get for you today?""Umm..." Baekhyun mumbled, looking around at the food on display. "I'll get a slice of chocolate Hungarian Dobos torte and a water bottle, please."The polite lady rang him up, all the while maintaining a kind smile, and Baekhyun paid his due amount, telling her to keep the change. She smiled at him and blushed, which only made Baekhyun chuckle before turning to go to his usual table in the corner, near the window.It had started to drizzle outside a little bit, but Baekhyun didn't mind. Honestly, he liked all kinds of weather conditions—sunny, snowy, rainy, you name it. In his eyes, each condition had certain aspects that brought forth beauty.The rain started to pick up, and a bolt of lightning struck behind a row of trees on the side of the road. Baekhyun counted in his head until the thunder came—six seconds—to see approximately how far away the center of the storm was.A ringing and a greeting from the cashier brought the teen out of his admiration. He looked towards the sound, to realize it was the door's bell, indicating the arrival of a new customer—which happened to be one of Baekhyun's least favorite people.Shin Daewoo.Baekhyun quickly diverted his eyes back to the road outside, craning his neck and pulling his hood up to try and make himself unnoticeable.Unfortunately, the action wasn't successful."Hey, Baekhyunnie," the taller—Daewoo—said, taking a seat in front of Baekhyun. "How's summer been?""Cut the bullshit," the smaller retorted, mood back down in the dumps."There's a bathroom over there," Daewoo responded with a seducing tone that didn't quite reach Baekhyun. Sneaking his hand near Baekhyun's, Daewoo tapped the pads of his fingers lightly on the skin of the latter's, moving up until the shirtsleeve of Baekhyun's sweatshirt restricted further movement. Said person did nothing to stop it. The taller leaned across the small table, as near the other's ear as he could go without making a scene. "You know what I'm thinking," he whisper before just barely grazing his tongue against the ear lobe.Baekhyun—against his instinct—shivered from the feeling, but stayed silent.Daewoo took the silence as an answer and laced his fingers with Baekhyun's before standing up and pulling him towards the small room. Baekhyun could only pray no one was watching, as they'd probably know what was about to go down—that is, if they didn't hear it later on.Luckily, it was a one-person bathroom, so no one else would be able to be in there with them. Daewoo locked the door before turning the shorter, who was willfully avoiding looking in the latter's eyes."Aww, honey," the taller cooed, tracing his calloused index finger against the other's jawline before making its way to his chin, lifting it slightly so Baekhyun would look at him. "C'mon, you know you want it."Baekhyun whimpered, which Daewoo interpreted as a the smaller telling him to continue. That was enough for him to grab Baekhyun's face, wasting no time in going in for an open mouth kiss. It took a few seconds, but eventually Baekhyun responded by slightly contributing and moving one of his hands to the latter's shoulder, leaving the other down by his side.Daewoo moved his tongue to the back of smaller's mouth as far as he could, nearly reaching Baekhyun's uvula, making the other let out a slight gagging sound. "Haven't taken one in the mouth in a while now, have we?" he mumbled against his lips, all the while removing both his hoodie and v-neck simultaneously. "Don't worry," he said, tapping the smaller's button nose. "We'll change that real soon."Baekhyun's nonverbal response was to move his unused hand down to the taller's zipper, moving his finger up and down a little to tease before popping the button."Shit, Baekhyun," Daewoon whispered.

———

"Let's make a run for it," Chanyeol's dad half said, half yelled over the pouring down rain that was hitting the windshield.Chanyeol nodded as a response before getting the best hold on all his bags that he could and reaching one hand for the door handle."Three, two, one," his dad counted down, practically screaming by the time he got to 'one'.As swiftly as possible, Chanyeol pulled on the door handle and pushed it open, quickly bursting out of the car, careful not to slip on the compiled rain on the ground, regardless of his clumsy nature. He closed the door with his foot before adding some bags to his right hand—which he used to pull the door handle.—before taking a sprint to the door, which was luckily only a few steps away for his big strides.His dad, on the other hand, wasn't able to make it as fast due to old age, so by the time he got to the porch, he was absolutely drenched in water. Chanyeol laughed when his dad tried to swipe the water off the surface of his clothes—which was an unsuccessful action."Shut up, son. You're not so dry either," the older muttered, feigning an angry tone."Not as bad as you, though," was his response.Mr. Park rang the doorbell and continued attempting to get rid of the water. It wasn't but a few seconds later when the locks clicked—even though the door was supposedly unlocked—and the door was swung open by a Ms. Byun holding a spatula, "I told you boys—oh....""We're sorry Ms. Byun," Chanyeol took the roll of being the responsible one. "We didn't know if it'd be alright to come in in this state.""Oh, don't worry," she replied with the usual smile on her face. "Won't dirty the house too much. You two go in quick and hop in the shower before dinner's ready. Don't want anyone catching a cold," the lady said, moving out of the way for the taller two to come in.Chanyeol bowed before following her directions and scurrying his way to Baekhyun's room. Taking in none of the room—and lack of small boy—Chanyeol threw his stuff on the floor, making sure it was not in the way, before grabbing some pajamas and making his way to what he assumed was the shower.

———

Around two hours and a sore asshole later, Baekhyun made his way back inside with his leftover food in a bag in one hand—which he lost the appetite for for obvious reasons. Expected, he was met with the smell of multiple foods and his mom's voice."Baekhyun, where have you been, boy?!" she yelled from the dining room.The small teen closed the door and turned his head to see Mr. Park, Chanyeol, and Ms. Byun eating without him. "Sorry, I went out for a little while.""I can see that," she said, her eyes scanning the bag in his hand. "Come join us.""Actually," he started, politely declining, "I think I'm going to go hop in the bath. Thanks, though."The boy's mother sighed before reluctantly nodding. "Okay, but eat something later."Baekhyun nodded before bowing and muttering a thanks, making his way to his room. He was met at the doorway with multiple suitcases and two guitar cases. Perhaps Chanyeol plays? Baekhyun thought to himself, realizing later that it was a stupid thought because why else would he have two guitars with him?The male shrugged to himself before gathering some clean pajamas and making his way to his bathroom.
