Taeyeon’s POV. We were sitting at the café, to my right is Tiffany and to my left is my best friend Sunny. She was telling me a story about one of our mutual friend from high school. The story was about the said friend at a party and was drunk, she was all touchy feely towards her, Sunny even act out the scene to me. I laugh so hard but I didn’t hear the person beside me laughing. I turn my head to see and she had this poker face, which I find weird, but I didn’t pay much attention to it. Until a few minutes later she announced that she had to go do something and left immediately before I could say anything. What just happened? She’s been behaving differently lately, I caught her a few times staring at me but when I asked her if something’s wrong she said nothing is wrong but I can see it from her eyes, she’s not telling me the truth. So I try to spend as much time as I can with her and hopefully she will be able to tell me and I try not to pry. Instead of trying to push her to tell me, I’ll just give her the time and space and I am sure that she will open up to me when she’s ready. The moment she left the café, I took out my phone and texted her. I waited patiently for her to reply but I didn’t receive any message. So I try to call her instead, but she didn’t pick up the call. Where is she going that was so important? She just left without saying goodbye. I usually would drive her back to her apartment. This is driving me crazy, I kept texting her but based on the app; she haven’t see the texts I’ve sent earlier. I’ll try calling her again later when I arrive at home. After numerous attempts of messaging and calling her were unsuccessful, I try to keep my mind occupied with something else and I will try to call her again. I decided to do my assignment that is due soon, making some last read through and completing it; so I can move on to the other task that the lecturer give today. Once I am done with my tasks, I look at the clock on the wall and it’s almost 8pm. I grab my phone and dial the number. It takes a few rings before I am connected to the other person. ‘Hello?’ her voice is hoarse. ‘Tiff, where are you?’ ‘I’m at home. Why?’ ‘I have been trying to get in touch with you, why didn’t you reply to my messages?’ ‘Sorry. I got tired and I fell asleep the moment I arrive home.’ That’s weird, she said she have some important things to do. ‘But I thought you said you have some things to do. Is everything ok? What’s wrong?’ Why is she lying to me? ‘Uh.. I just woke up because
