Goodbye (1/2)
“I don’t understand why we have to do this… The Counselors are no more… The hunters are out of the picture… Why do we need to continue this training? Where’s the danger?” I told him after he tried to swing his fist over my head but I dodged brilliantly.
“No offense, babe… But you’re getting rusty in combat ever since we killed Jaerim… It’s just for your protection…” He said…
He then instantly grabbed my wrist, twists it behind my back.
I grunted under my clenched teeth because he was right… I tried to free myself from his bound but somehow my strength was not like before… Apparently after the ritual, I did turn back into a vampire… But I started from square one… I needed the sharpen my skill all over again as I was considered as a newborn vampire.
I could hear him chuckling behind my neck when I couldn’t even free myself from his hand… There was only one way… One way and one method that never fails…
I turned my head slightly over my shoulder… My other hand went behind his neck, pulling him closer to me before I claimed his lips…
When I felt his hand loosened, I quickly turned around, facing him and kneed his abdomen after I freed myself… A loud thud sound can be heard around the living room area when I hit him… The hit wasn’t that hard… but it wasn’t that frail either… It was just enough to make him to fell backward a bit… He groaned under his breath while his hand held his abdomen area, where I just charged him…
“You always fall for that…” I chuckled as I watched him struggled to keep his posture back to normal.
He cleared the lump in his throat and brushed the pain away…
“I have to admit… That is a great trick… But you do know you can’t use that on anyone but me, right?” He went closer to me, smirking while still breathing harshly through his lips… My hit must had hurt him more than I thought…
I placed my palm on his abdomen… I looked down on his chest as my fingers trailed on his shirt buttons…
“What is it?” He asked… His voice was soft, reminded me of the day where we first met one hundred years ago…
“It’s over, right?” I spoke… My eyes still glued on the buttons… As he stood so close to me, I could smell the sweet musky scent of his cologne that I loved so much…
“The trouble… The complications… Everything is over, right?” I repeated.
He nodded his head lightly, closing the remaining gap between us as he held my side waist with both of his hands…
“Looks like it… I wanted everything to be over as much as you do… There’s too much stuff that we’ve been through… Right now I just want us to be left alone…… I want you... for myself, Yoori.” He said as he took my hand and brought it near his lips… He kissed my engagement ring….
His lips moved to my palm, slowly then on my wrist… It’s funny how even his smallest touch able to get me flustered.
“Hello?! Guys?!”
We heard Seolna’s voice coming from the front door… Jungkook released my hand and I dropped it to my side.
“In here…” I told her and seconds later she emerged from the entrance of the living room… Before she brought herself in, she froze on her spot…
“I didn’t interrupt anything, right?” She asked. “No.” I told her at the same time as Jungkook.
“Yes.” He said to her. “No, Seolna… You didn’t… What is it?” I assured her once more after I gave his side arm a light hit with my elbow…
“U-Um… Here… I brought something for you…” She handed me a crystal… My crystal… When I was a witch…
The blood red crystal lightened in my hand but the color was less brighter than it used to… Ah… That’s right… I was no longer a witch… Sooner or later the red light will forever faded…
“It was Lady Yooha’s and then it was yours… I thought you might want to keep it with you…” She said, smiling timidly to me.
“Thank you, Seolna…” I said… She nodded her head with enthusiastic.
“So, is what I heard is true? You’re the new Elder for the Witch Coven?” Jungkook asked her… Her face reddened as soon he brought it up.
“U-Um… Y-Yes… The rest of the witches and warlocks voted for me as a new Elder…” She told us.
“They did a wise thing…” He said… I slid my hand around his waist, pulling him closer to me.
“They did, didn’t they? Seolna, you’ll be a great Elder…” I told her.
“...Thank you…… G-Guys… I… I know we’re close now… but I never had a chance to say this… I’m really, really sorry…” She suddenly apologized.
“What are you sorry for?” I asked as Jungkook turned his head to me and then back to Seolna.
She frowned hard with disbelief as she quickly took a step closer to us.
“For what I did to you, Yoori… To Jungkook… and Suga…… I kidnapped you and almost kill them… I almost kill Jungkook……… Until now, I still feel sick for what I did to you guys… I-I’m sorry…” She was getting restless… Her head hung low and her fingers intertwined with one another… “That was long time ago… We’ve passed it, Seolna…” I told her.
“Yoori’s right… It’s true that you almost kill me…… but you’ve also saved my life plenty of time, Seolna…… You don’t owe us an apology… I think it is me who owe you my gratitude… You’ve brought Yoori back from the Other Side… You did an impossible thing for us by giving Suga and Yoori what they want………. Thank you.” Jungkook spoke.
She weakly gave us a smile…
Few weeks later, everything seemed like it went back to normal… We all went back to school even though we actually had to compel our way in because of those months we all had skipped school…… Just another few months, Jungkook, Suga and I would be graduating from high school…… I really thought that was the closure we will have…… but I was greatly wrong.
It was the time of the night… Suga and Somin came over for hang out…
