Strangers (1/1)

Elle’s POV“You’re worthless! A waste! It’s your mothers fault!”With each word he slapped me. It stung and burned so bad. I put my hands up to my face and felt something wet and sticky. I didn’t dare look at my hands.“You stupid piece of crap.” He kicked me a few times and went to the kitchen to grab another beer. As soon as I knew he was far enough away I saw my chance. I ran. The door slammed behind me. He came stumbling to it and yelled obscenities at me but I was already gone.My feet thumped against the ground. As I ran I cried. Soon it was all just too much and I dropped to the ground on a curb. It was all I could do at that point. Sit and cry.I was startled when my phone vibrated in my pocket. My best friend, Joanna, was calling me…?? Why would she be calling me right now? Its 1 in the morning!“Yeah?”“Elle! Are you ok!?”“What?  Why wouldn’t I be??” I said through my held back tears. I honestly didn’t feel like talking but she went on.“I’m not stupid. We’ve been friends for forever and you still lie to me like that!” she fumed. “Your dad called and told me to not let you into my house or something. He was slurring so bad I couldn’t understand him so I know for a fact that you are not fine. I’m going to come pick you up so you better tell me where you are or else.”I could hear the “not kidding-ness” in her voice as she made her little speech so I complied.“Be there in a minute.” And she hung up.I sat there on the curb for a long time thinking pointlessly about nothing. There was no noise except for the occasional car off in the distance and it was a little chilly. I suddenly got that feeling I was being watched and tensed up. Joanna said she would be here in a minute! Uhhhhhg! Hurry up!“Excuse me” a voice from behind me sounded.I screamed, jumped up and threw a punch in the general direction the voice had come from but never made contact with anything. When I opened my eye a very tall guy was standing in front of me a few paces away.“Don’t come at me or I will do what I just did, only it will work” I threatened. I really didn’t think I could beat this tall, cute…muscular… I realized I was staring at him with an obviously less than threatening face.“Calm down. I’m not going to hurt you or anything. I was just going to ask you why you were sitting on curb at 1 in the morning but I can sort of tell why” he gestured to my cheek. For some reason I believed him.“That’s what I thought.” He mutteredSuddenly things were spinning and I felt light headed... dangit! Stupid head rushes! I swayed a little bit “whoa” I closed my eyes.Soon there were hands at my sides holding me steady and slowly help me sit down.“There ya go, slowly…” he soothed. Mmmm his voice was so nice... Minho’s POVHer blue eyes suddenly became blank and her stance started to sway.“whoa”I put my hands on her sides and guided her to ground. “There ya go, slowly...”We sat silently for a second while she collected herself.“So, my name is Choi Minho. What’s yours?”She looked unsure. Maybe it was from when she got hit or the fact that I was a stranger. After a moment or two I took control, “Alrighty then, If you don’t wanna say anything that’s ok. I just thought it would be nice to strike up a conversation.” I nodded not knowing what else to say.She looked down the street and appeared so angry but also like she wanted to cry. She looked so broken and… I don’t even know how to describe it.“Elle.”“that’s a pretty name Elle…”“When I was four me and my mom came here from America for a reason not known to me.”“I see…”There was a long silence. We sat there together quietly. Her looking at everything but me and me studying her light blonde waves, soft looking skin, and piercing blue eyes. That was interrupted when car lights were coming towards us. She glanced at it then whispered something.“Oh that’s my ride… I gotta go. Bye Choi Minho.” She waved and got into the passenger side of the car. Elle’s POVI got into Joanna’s car. “Took you long enough!” I whined.“Doesn’t matter. Who was that?”I stared at her a little annoyed. “He was just a guy walking around the neighborhood at 1 in the morning, but the not creepy kind.” I looked at her clock, “But its two now!  What did you do in between calling me and now!?” bringing back the subject I would rather talk about.“Still irrelevant. He was cute! Did you get his number? You like him, I can tell!”“No.” I put my head against the window and rolled my eyes. Inside though, I was thinking about this Minho stranger. After that Joanna shut up and left me to my thoughts. OK for some people this is just a review but what evs! Enjoyable? Comment!
