Chapter 20 (1/1)
“Really? Oh I got it…”, YongGuk hung up on the phone. He stayed meditative for a while and then decided to call his secretary. “SunHwa-sshi, can you do this for me before you go home today?”“Nae…”, SunHwa immediately dashed into his office from hers outside, “What is it, Mr. Bang?”Knitting his hands together, YongGuk used them as a pedestal to rest his chin on. He smirked first and then it turned into a gummy smile, a very happy smile. He hadn’t had that bright smile for a while. == HyoMi walked along the streets tentatively. What should she do now? She didn’t want to go back home. No, it’s impossible for her. Going home meant quitting living on her own life. Going home meant agreeing with getting married to a rich boy who she didn’t even know, or worse, someone she really knew but she couldn’t get married to him because they were friends so they can’t hurt each other like that. Someone like DongWoon. So her plan now was staying away from her aunt as long as possible. But how could she do that? No phone. She threw it at home so her aunt couldn’t contact her. Her family couldn’t contact her. All the old relationships she had in Korea were also lost since she moved to Paris too suddenly. There was no one to call. And in such an unconscious moment, when she was too morose to be in the normal state of mind, she bought a ticket to somewhere. Now, when she was wide awake, she realized that she was in Seoul.Like a soulless person, HyoMi kept walking without a thought in mind. In the crowded street, someone viciously snatched the bag from her hand and ran away. She was dumbfounded before realizing what had happened. She couldn’t scream out for help. Plus, that thief quickly disappeared to the crowded. Oh no, I lost everything now T___TLittle did she remember that she kept HimChan’s business card in her jeans’ pocket so she could just come to his company and ask for help. However, she came up with another idea. Where were her bestfriends, DaeHyun and YoungJae?Even though it had been five years, she still remembered the ways to DaeHyun’s house. Good thing, she reached it before she got lost. Ringing the bell, HyoMi hoped that she would be welcomed by her friend, or at least he would recognize her as she had changed a lot.“Annyeong haseyo!”, HyoMi greeted when she saw a girl opening the door. Searching through her mind, she didn’t remember that DaeHyun had any sister. So was this girl…?“Excuse me, I’m looking for Jung DaeHyun…”“Ah, my husband had gone for a business trip abroad…”, the girl replied, which made HyoMi gasp when she stated that DaeHyun was her ‘husband’. What? He already got married? Oh my dear friend, you are so… fast!Well then, HyoMi didn’t want to bother her friend’s family so she thanked them and went to YoungJae’s house. How terrible, she received almost the same answer, just this time, YoungJae had gone to a honeymoon with his wife. “Gosh, where are my bestfriends when I need huh?”She sat down on a bench in the park. Looking around, she saw only happy people. Happy couples were expressing their love for each other. Happy families were having fun. And the happy sun shone brightly than ever. Why was she the only one who felt depressed here?Coincidently, she put her hand in the pocket and found something left there. HimChan’s business card was like a savior to her. “That’s right! HimChan oppa always says that he will help me if I want to go back and live in Korea. Even if he isn’t here, I can ask his secretary and then she will help me to find a place to live!”. HyoMi stood straight up. The brilliant idea brought back her energy and her optimistism.Taking a long walk to the building, HyoMi scuttled inside it and told the receptionists that she was HimChan’s sister then reported every bad thing that happened to her. Although they didn’t know her but it seemed that HimChan already told them about a sister would come to ask for help so they led her to the 20th floor and told her to wait.A beautiful lady in conservative business suit walked out and talked to HyoMi. She guessed this was HimChan’s secretary. “Ms. HyoMi!”“Yes, it’s me!”, HyoMi nodded, feeling so happy. Finally, she found someone to ask for help.“I already found a place for you to stay and even a job!”, the lady said, which made her more and more happy. Wow, HimChan oppa was really good to her. She had to tell HyoSung unni that he was ready to be a husband. Keke.“Please follow me…”. Then the lady drove HyoMi to an apartment and showed her a luxury flat. It was extremely big with a pool on the balcony. She rubbed her eyes several times to make sure she didn’t see wrong. HimChan was so so so so so so so so good to her.“Oh… excuse me…”, she called out for the secretary.“SunHwa! Call me SunHwa!”“SunHwa-sshi… Isn’t this too much for me?”, HyoMi moved her point finger around.SunHwa giggled at her silly question, “You’re not the only who’ll stay here!”“Eh? I’ll have a roommate?”, HyoMi enlarged her eyes with surprise.“Kind of… Well, you’re going to be his maid…”, SunHwa answered awkwardly as she knew HyoMi would be shocked.“WHAT? A MAID?”, just like what SunHwa predicted, she was extremely shocked. HimChan oppa, why are you doing this to me? T___T“I’m very sorry. I know you’re a famous stylist but you lost all of your personal papers, it’s impossible for me to find a right job for you at the moment. So please just do this first. Then I’ll try to contact your family to…”“Ah no no no no!”, HyoMi shook her head and waved both of her hands to refused SunHwa’s ‘kindness’. Calling her family? Hell no! She wanted to live on her own. If she called and asked her aunt for economic help or any other kinds of help, she would make her repay by going on many blind dates.“But… but… but who is that?”, HyoMi asked while still struggling with her shock.“A colleague of Mr. Kim! He has just moved here so as you can see, this place is very dirty and messy, please tidy it up!”, then SunHwa hurriedly got out of the flat, leaving HyoMi with a big big mixture of feelings.Poor my life. Now the high-qualified stylist has to be a maid…. Argh… but however, it’s still better than if I have no job and live by other people’s money. Especially, not my aunt’s money! HyoMi started cleaning up the living room.
