He was so tired. So fucking tired of chasing some damn brat around. Sunggyu ground his teeth and checked his phone. Nothing. He’d sent out orders to the others to capture Kim Myungsoo, but they were taking their time about it. If there was one thing Sunggyu didn’t have, it was time. “Still nothing?” Sunggyu scowled and reached for a cigarette. “Here,” Aya stepped closer, holding out a lighter. “Let me get that for you.” He leaned in close as she flicked the flame, watching it bend and flare when it caught his cigarette. Sunggyu took a long drag, breathed it out again in a heavy sigh. “I’m tired of waiting around,” he said in Japanese. “There’s nothing you can do about it now,” she responded. “No shit. That doesn’t stop me from being pissed off. And you’re not helping.” “Sorry.” The smile on her face showed the opposite. Sunggyu just shook his head and inhaled again. “Like hell you are.” “Sunggyu . . . don’t think that I don’t care about what happens to the two of you. I’ve always been a yaoi fan. I like a happy ending as much as anyone else.” "Why are you here anyway?” “To keep an eye on you, honey.” Sunggyu scoffed at the joke. Aya had once been easy on the eyes, but now one of her eyes was sewn shut with a deep scar. She’d trained with a samurai sword and was a sellsword by trade – a bounty hunter in modern day. Sunggyu had dared to laugh at her once for her old fashioned ways. The bite of her sword had left a permanent nic in his shoulder. He hadn’t laughed again. He’d watched Aya take down an armed group of ten in less than a minute.  There was a reason she was the Leader’s favourite, why she had been sent to guard him .  . . It was proof that the Leader didn’t trust him. And with good reason. The moment Sunggyu was let of the leash he’d eagerly bite the bastard’s throat. Aya knew it too, because she watched him with her one, pretty eye. Aya helped herself to one of his cigarettes and lit it. Sunggyu didn’t protest when she sat down on the truck’s bonnet beside him, their thighs touching. Aya swung her short legs back and forth, stared up at the rafters of the warehouse. “Can I see him?” “That’s not part of the deal.” “Bitch.” Aya chuckled. “I’m just following orders. We all have someone we love . . .” “I find that hard to believe.”  “I knew you would.” “A person like you – you don’t have anyone.” “You’re right . . .  I cut my ties. They’re what make people weak. Pity you were so obvious about it.” Sunggyu felt her eye focus on him. “You’re so weak, Sunggyu.” Sunggyu’s jaw tightened. If this bitch didn’t shut up . . . “Don’t take it too hard. You’re just part of the plan.” Sunggyu dropped his cigarette and crushed it underfoot. Aya snapped her fingers. “I don’t know why
